Beautiful. The second scherzo reminds me the wonderful Lyapunov's sonata at some times (9:07 and 9:43 for example). It is not even the same key but it sounds similar in a way, I don't know how to explain.
@Hose2wAcKiEr I wasn’t speaking about formal, sonata-form-like development structure. I was speaking about general development of recognizable themes throughout the piece.
It's worth mentioning, that these are obviously from piano rolls. I wish it were physically possible to play octaves this quickly in real life -- but it's not... not by anyone.
Balakirev must have been one hell of a pianist. Knows his way around a keyboard for sure,
The first, full of vigor and youth, the second with its sublime beauty, and the nostalgic third! Great!
Splendid
Thanks to your work I've discovered lots of pieces and composers
Keep it up!
Seconding! Thank you fyrexianoff!!

@Felis Skalkotris Sorabjitus ok
Stunning
10:05 second theme of the exposition of the first piano sonata by the same composer
15:32 sounds quite impressionistic and music-box-esque
Even though the 3rd one is quite creative, it's overly repetitive.
his scherzo no.2's second theme is same as his sonata no.1 b flat minor movement 1 second theme

I don’t know which was composed first, but Balakirev reused some parts of the 2nd scherzo in his 2nd unfinished sonata first movement.
19:20
you're welcome
Pretty good. Lacking strong themes and development in my opinion. Good nonetheless

Are you trolling, or are you actually this stupid?
