A few years ago I bought a beautiful/like new 93 Gold Wing. It had been sitting for years. The tank was full of rust, and I didn't discover it until 300 miles down the road. Big repair. Currently buying a 05 Burgman that has 5000 miles on odo. I'm going to fully inspect the tank before purchase.
Brilliant video and a massive thank you for taking the time to help us wannabe mechanics, pulling out our already bald head of hair out with frustration! Your the savior Man! Just subscribing is a pleasure my friend.
You dont have to completely pull the fuel tankon my 2003 i just took off the big front fairing under the key out the e fan and unbolted the tank and slid it forward nearly against the radiator and its easily accessible next time you can use this it makes the difference between someone's project making since or not
Hi late to the video but how long had the bike sat to get in that bad a state in the fuel tank and what is the ratio of ethanol in petrol in the us . I ask because i have just been offerd a burgman that has sat 3 years.
I think this one was at least 6 years but it was several years ago and I didn’t write it in the ticket. Normally I do at least now I do. Could have been 10 years, May have been 4 years.
I use StarTron myself but you should check out some of the many videos on RUclips where people have done scientific or quasi scientific testing on fuel stabilization. Bottom line none of them work for fuel sitting a long long time.

If the injector is stuck, just hit it with a small object, like a wrench, it'll work! lol
