I got one of the first burger delivered to Canada and mine sounded like the diesel. So having a sense of humor i had a silver decal made up in the same fount as the one on the back of the bike that said DIESEL. I put it on the gas cap door and it was a hoot. People asked if it was a diesel and I said yes and would just start it and when they heard it they thought it was. I ran into the owner of the dealer I got it from one night and he asked me to PLEASE take the decal off as folks were going to the dealer wanting to buy the diesel version of the burger. When he told them there was no diesel version they would tell him they had met a guy that had one and even heard it run. It was great fun until I sold it and moved to the Caribbean. So don't fix it have fun with it. It's only at a idle
Glad I could help George. Don't forget to fully warm the engine and then re-adjust the idle speed to 1200 rpm. Too low an idle will results in low engine oil pressure which can cause noisy cam tensioners as well.
Don't forget to also adjust your idle speed to 1100 to 1200 rpm. Yes idle speed is adjustable on all Skywave/Burgman 650 2001 through 2006. Low idle speed will result in cam chain rattle at idle as well. Check that first before buying this repair kit.
Thanks... Our install went easy, just like the video.... Wish you had included how to remove the plastic earring... But with some frustration learning how to do it, once done the Bergman is no longer making that diesel sound at idle. Good job... Thanks again
Merrick has well over 80, 000Km now on his Black 2003 model shown in the video without any issues. He recently did a road trip on it over 5000Km up into Eastern Russia and back. A long hard ride - no issues other then worn out Tires.
Merrick will only have the repair kits on EBay when he has the Repair Shafts available. He makes the adaptor shafts himself on his own Milling Machine. He is a Mechanic and Machinist in Poland. So if you don't see the repair kits for sale on eBay right now, keep checking back. Thank you.
The device just locks together primary gear with springs, which create a kind of amortiser, making transmision working softer and lowering forces at the gears. Typical in motorcycle clutch baskets. The proper solution is not to lock, but create more spring tension e.g. by more preload on springs. Locking can possibly create higher forces on gear specially under high loads, impacts then rapid wear or damage. Consider this when instaling device.
The #1 question I get is why doesn't Suzuki know about this fix & or why don't "they" fix it this way? Well they do know about it, that's why they changed the transmission design in 2007. but their fix for this at the dealership level is to remove and rebuild the CVT trans gears with 2007 and later components. The cost of that repair is upwards of $2000. Most people after hearing this elect to trade in and get a new bike. So it sells bikes as well as allowing them to give you close to nothing for your trade with the noisy trans.Win/Win for them. So with this kit, you can fix it yourself for $225 and 60 min of time and then ride on... You do the math on that one for yourself. .
Just want to let everyone know that a impact driver is necessary when doing this. I started to fix mine but had to put it off until I get an impact gun. The gears keep spinning and no way to stop them.
HI. I HAVE UNPORBLEMA WITH MY SIZUKI BURGMAN 650 OF 2004.Ç I HAVE THE CVT BROKEN BUT I CAN DO IT SECONDHAND. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHERE THE CVT FITTES THE TEETH ARE ALSO IN BAD CONDITION. IN THE WORKSHOP I HAVE SEEN THIS VIDEO AND HANDICHO WHERE YOU CAN GET THE PIECE THAT SHOWS TO AVOID OPENING THE ENGINE. THANK YOU FOR COPARTIR.
There is a wire under the engine leading to something with 2 small bolts. This leaks oil. Does it have an o-ring and if I remove said part will the engine oil spill out.
I got a 2005 Burgman 650. I need to remove that CVT bolt to fix my broken belt, but I can't get it loose. It is so tight that a 300nm impact wrench can't losen it up. Does anyone have suggestions to get it out?
What’s the purpose of this gear and bolt? My friends bolt broke thru the cover and was rattling around. Still starts and runs but wondering what it’s for because he’s been riding it like this for a while. His is a 2006 Burgman. Mine is a 2004 but I haven’t had any issues with mine yet.
Hi - great video. The previous owner of my K3 (an engineer who was very complimentary about the quality of this kit) fitted Mirek's kit, and it now has over 31,000 miles and runs like a top. However, what torque setting should this be set at?
I put this adapter into place last night and the dieseling sound is actually worse. I am going to remove it when I get home from work and I am pretty sure I know which step wasn't done right. When you put the adapter in place - I now believe that I did not set it in far enough. I didn't use the 24mm bolt to push it back there. I am going to remove it and put it back in. My question - is it possible to put in in too far and what will tell me it is in far enough?
Wendy - watch the video closely, the shaft will go in and seat. You have to rotate the rear wheel back and forth while inserting the shaft to get the splines to line up properly. Then use bolt and hammer to seat the shaft. Also make sure your idle speed is 1100 to 1200 rpm, at a slower idle speed you will also get some cam chain rattle on the early Burgy 650's. After install - take the Burgy out for a ride, put trans in manual mode, shift into 2 gear and increase the rpm to 4500 and hold it there for 30 seconds while riding. This will take the slack out of cam chain and allow chain slack adjuster to ratchet out a click or two. All Burgy owners should do this every 5000 miles or so.
I have a 2007 Suzuki Burgman 650 and it makes the exact same noise. A bike mechanic told me that suzuki's fix for the 2007 used a different type of material to design the adapter shaft which basically causes the same diesel noise problem and that I should still order Iwaniuk's shaft to correct the problem. Is this true?
I have suzuki burgman 650 every time well I’m driving the scooter it it slows me down and it stops me a little bit well I’m not touching a break well I’m bout to come up to the light it’s slow me down make it feel like I’m stopping what can that be
Dear sbs9026, I have a question. I won’t be using an impact gun to loosen or tighten the bolt back on mine, instead I’ll use a torque wrench. What should I torque it to?
It was from Merrick on eBay. Or at least I think it was from him. It was $207 in US dollars . Thanks for the info. I know the original primary shaft bolt ( the one you discard) is torqued to 65.5 ft lbs so that’s what I’ll torque the new one to.
Sbs9026, I’m not sure how to post a link on here but if you want to text me at +12762195460 I’ll be glad to share it from eBay with you. That goes for anyone that wants the link.

There is no OEM part number for this part. It's an aftermarket repair part made by a guy in Poland who figured out the problem and figured out how to fix it himself without taking apart the transmission. Taking apart the transmission is how the Suzuki dealership fixes it at a very high repair cost.
Inès Baghdad, check your idle speed. Needs to be somewhere between 1050-1200 rpm, less then 1000 rpm you will hear some cam chain rattle. Check and see if that isn't your noise issue?

Hi - great video. The previous owner of my K3 (an engineer who was very complimentary about the quality of this kit) fitted Mirek's kit, and it now has over 31,000 miles and runs like a top. However, what torque setting should this be set at?
As your can see in video - I didn't torque it. I used impact wrench and hammered it hard. So let's say 80 to 100 ft lbs.
I put this adapter into place last night and the dieseling sound is actually worse. I am going to remove it when I get home from work and I am pretty sure I know which step wasn't done right.
