  • In today's video, I would like to discuss a brand which has approached me which I feel offers craftsmanship and quality commonly seen far beyond its price point. These straps range from 40 to 90 Euros and are hand made without mechanisation in Finland from very high quality leather. As a result, they offer a great deal to a consumer.

Hello, I bought one of these a few weeks back, funny you are reviewing them now. Very nice and comfortable. I would pick any of these really hand-made straps over the big brands/names every day. Another one you should have a look to is the Martù from Chile.

I followed your lead and invested in one of these straps from Finland. I found it a comfortable wear and so very soft and supple.

Thank you Armand very good review. I have almost bought a Fin Strap on several occasions but on each occasion I was in-between buying and selling. Your review and seeing the quality has convinced me to buy, Regards from Australia

A little detail I could possibly add, is round off the corners of overlap on the underside to lessen the chances of catching. Probably only required with thick leather. Who am I to query something that’s been made for generations?
Anyway, very supple and robust straps at nice prices.

    Nice review.
Am I the only person who does not like the knotted thread on each side below the lugs?
Who started this anyway? To me it just looks cheap. Like it's a time saving way to finish the strap. Not to mention accidentally brushing against something and possibly abrading the thread. Finishing threads should be on the back of the band. Rant over.

I'm gonna have a good look at these guys. I'm closing in on a blue Breitling _Navitimer_ and I want a cognac strap to wear it on.
[ Update: I now have that blue Breitling _Navitimer_ YAY! ]

I'm still wearing my white 104 on it's original super thick brown leather strap. I should really try something else and burgundy might be a way to go.

Going to check both out in a store tomorrow but even though the white version is very pretty i'm probably going to buy the black one to be more versatile.

Well done. I have a penchant for exotic leather straps. All of mine are also custom made. It is always nice to see such offerings.

Excellent review of some really great hand-made leather watch straps. 👍 I received two of them just this week. I can’t believe the quality for the price! (I should say here that I have no connection of any kind to this company.) I paid less than $100 for the two straps, including shipping. It was a 30% off for the second strap, and they’re always having sales of some kind.
One of mine was Horween (very high quality American leather), the other “Italian” leather. I’m no expert, but to me, both were much better quality than the Coloreb strap I bought a couple of months ago for $63! They are softer, more pliable and more comfortable and have a better finish. The variety available is amazing, about a dozen different styles, at least 20 different leathers, and 18 different colors of stitching! You pick the leather, the style and the color stitching. It takes 1 - 2 weeks to make them, and 3 - 4 weeks for ground shipping (faster if you pay extra for it). Somehow the shipping on mine got delayed, and after I emailed them, they paid for faster shipping, no problem.
I can’t describe how much better the 2 watches look with these custom straps. I’ve been rotating only between these two watches since I got the straps, and every time I look at them, I do a double take! For casual leather straps, I doubt I’ll buy anywhere else again! 👍

Thank you for this review. I have been looking for this quality strap for almost a year. The price is an added bonus. I'm so glad you reviewed this companies straps. I think you should see if you can show more styles from this company.

I would suggest RM Williams saddle and leather dressing. I use it on all my leather items and have found it to be the best and it has a wonderful smell. Not cheap and not easy to find.

Great straps. Armand can you let me know what is your wrist is in inches and wat size strap did you get - small, medium or large? I have the Tudor heritage ranger and looking to get the same strap you have in the video.
    Thanks

  • @rustyshackleford17

Due to my larger wrists, custom straps are generally the way to go as most production manufacturers generally don't venture beyond the 120/80 length and their whole placement is extremely erratic.
So I tried these people out. Quality is good, not great. Materials used is the same stuff $50 through $300 straps use. Turnaround was relatively quick.
Biggest complaint was that the straps were rather small so you're probably going to have to punch out some bigger holes.

I would suggest anyone considering a shell cordovan strap to look at them. They're one of the only people that makes an unlined...and doesn't try to rake you over the coals.

Gorgeous looking straps. Definately worth checking out next time I need a new leather strap. I much more prefer to shop at places like that and eg Colareb compared to whatever from Amazon.
    Bookmarked, cheers!

I was looking at Etsy for leather straps and my eye came up upon one of the straps made by this organization it just caught my eye. I’m getting in an omega about 1944 it’s in beautiful shape and I would like to put an outstanding watch band on it and I think I found a company I’m going to deal with. I find so many of the watch band that I see are like clones very little personality they’re nice but no personality personalit.I’m getting in and omega from that 1944 it’s in beautiful shape and I would like to put an outstanding watchband on it and I think I found a company I’m going to deal with. I have a black Arabic 104 and was thinking of getting two straps a redish and a orangeish strap - I’ll try these guys for one of them but I’d like to experiment with multiple vendors. Any suggestions? Straps are very expensive indeed I usually find myself having to save up for one but that takes the savings out of the “for Watch” bucket

I do think that £100 plus is ludicrous money for a watch strap, especially when considering they by definition will have a finite lifespan - which a bracelet pretty much doesn't.

Armand, love your videos! But as a former military guy it drives me nuts when you sign off with Over and Out. They mean two different things. You say Over when you expect a response from someone. You say Out when you are done talking and don't expect to be back on the air. When you say them both, you lose massive amounts of respect from those in the know and you sound like a bad war movie. Carry on! Out.

    • @ArmandTheWatchGuy
      @ArmandTheWatchGuy  6 лет назад +2

+Ken McConnell: Thank you very much for the comment. I will try to think of a new way of finishing the videos and, in order to claw back some credibility, I'll simply say 'out' in future. However, my next video is pre-recorded and thus will not feature this change.
