This is why you are so successful my good sir, there are so many garbage so called horology channels saying if straps aren't stamped by luxury watch companies someone might think you are wearing fake watches, I love how you combine your straps with even your most luxurious watches, onwards and upwards my friend, keep up the good work. You've been an inspiration for me

Damn it man... I didn’t really understand the strap thing until I started watching your channel. Now I just got my first Hirsh leather strap and even changed it to a deployment clasp. Have a little portfolio with collection of NATO’s to mix and match with my watches and my outfit for the day. Styling like the Gentry...

I'm glad you went through prices on all these. As a watch collector on a budget, having someone show off an amazing strap to then look it up and see it's $180 is heartbreaking. I really apreciate your review and I hope you carry on the habit of discussing price in your "non-homage" watch videos or anything else in the future. Cheers!

Another great video, one of my favorites thus far. What are your thoughts on different buckle finishes, and styles? That would be a great video on a topic not many watch channels cover, if at all. Sometimes the buckle makes the strap.

So a few things first. I am an English subscriber of the channel which i love and respect. I try not to be an impulse buyer so of course i listen to other people's opinions. This week i purchased a Seiko baby turtle to add to my ever increasing automatic dive watch collection. I never like the straps that you receive with them so always change. I also know my story could be a one off. But on the back of this review i bought a RIOS strap in a grey suede version. I must of been mad spending £30 ($40) on a watch strap.
What turned up (in good clean company packaging) was a filthy strap.
Ingrained dirt yuk! Especially the keepers. And on the strap itself, amongst the dirt was a big dug out ditch the size of the Hudson itself (name of the strap). There is also a scratch the buckle.
If this is actually in truth such a bespoke family run business that prides itself on what it churns out then I'm a William IV Longcase grandfather clock!
If you throw these out at £7 fine. But charging £30 and bunging them out the door with no quality control in the state mine is in speaks volumes. German efficiency, hmm

Have a look at the ABP concept web site, it's french and they have a shop in paris. Made-to-order straps, you can pick the materials yourself in the store. Expensive, but well worth it. My father has one for his Longines.

I love the BluShark NATO straps. They're the best I've found so far. They're superior to Wrist Candy Watch Club NATOs and Treveo NATOs, which are the two closest I've found in quality. BluShark NATOs have much better hardware and the fabric is very comfortable. I'm surprised I don't hear about them on RUclips. TGV, I know you're a NATO guy, I would highly recommend them!
I also love the Strapcode MILTAT bracelets. Bought one for my Orient Ray II, loved it so much I ordered a sandblasted Engineer II for my blue matte Squale 1521.

    Hi TGV
    Best matches today:
The Burgundy genuine croch, the Fluco suede and the Hadley Roma canvas strap - relatively to the watches, you’ve paired them with.
There’s several fine straps here, so it’s just my personal taste when it comes to pairings😉
If described to me without seeing the combination I probably wouldn’t have thought that the Hadley Roma on the Fortis would work, especially not in this color - but it really does. Just goes to show; you always have to see it...
I think that one of those canvas straps would fit my beloved Speedy Automatic too - perhaps in a more neutral color and for “dressing down occasions”.
    Keep up the good work👍

Yes, yes and yes! Perfect timing for that episode, it even reminded me if someone asks me what I want for Christmas - I already shared that as an answear :) what I really love about your videos/reviews is attention to details and in watch straps it really matters...materials, hardware, fit and finish, you take into consideration all of that aspects. Many straps do not match with a hardware colour e.g. brushed buckle does not match the brushed parts of a watch... and this a pain when you spend some premium on a quality product. I have so many nato straps from strap code, blushark, ebay no-names... but none of it is perfect sometimes I think about cherry picking the best elements from each brand and producing my own.
TGV what is your ultimate nato choice for nato lets say, for a seiko skx lets say?
Great video I am a big fan your videos I feel we have very similar approach to the watches and straps :) keep up with the great work!!
    Best regards,
    Mike

No love for velcro straps? I wear my 2017 Hamilton Khaki King (H-40 calibre, gold dial) on an old brown cloured Hadley-Roma velcro strap and imo at least, it looks and feels like the perfect adventurous combination. Obviously not the best style of strap for a dress watch, but for adventure/military/tool watches, it's a great choice :)

Well done sir. I love the affordable indulgence that are straps. Unfortunately they are a very frustrating subject for me. I have my father's wrists, 8 1/4", Italian stonemason ancestry to blame I'm sure. Fine straps for the large wristed are a very rare commodity. Might you suggest where one might look for an affordable custom strap?

TGV - absolutely love your videos and your passion for all things horology! Quick question, you mentioned punching an extra hole, is there a specific watch strap hole punch you recommend?? Thanks!

Beautiful Colareb A1! I've been looking for a leather 1 piece and that looks perfect. I had to order from them to get the 22mm size.

Having trouble finding a quality Milanese style bracelet for my dress watch? Any suggestions where to look?

I wish Wrist Candy Watch Club will have the 18mm. They only sell the 20mm now, which I bought for my SARB033. Any chance you can push them to make 18mm?

Hello, greetings from Finland! I just got my first Seiko 5 (thanks to you) and I love it, only thing I'm not that excited is the cheap looking steel bracelet. I would like to change it to something better, but I don't know much about watches. What should a decent stainless steel bracelet cost. Could you give me a some sort of a price range?

TGV - great show, but you need to go forward and shoot in 2K or 4K as 1080p is not good enough to show every detail...

Thank you, sadly I do not have the camera or computers, or time for that matter to do that.
Hopefully in a year or two!

I think that the orange Bonetto strap would be perfect on your Squale Blue dial.
    What do you think?

I've just started collecting watches and right now I've got my first automatic watch, a Seiko SNKL45 (as recommended by The Urban Gentry). The original bracelet is very noisy and cheap. Does anybody have a recommendation for a good 18mm leather watch strap around 20/ 30 dollar, preferably black leather?

Came across your video since I was looking for rios1931 straps reviews. Do you think either the black or mocha Buffalo leather straps would look good on a seiko speed timer with white dial?

Another great video! I love that ColaReb on the Sinn. I might have to get myself a strip strap. It's a great partnership. I like the sturdy look of the Hadley Roma. That Hirsh looks great and, again, that ColaReb on the Fleming! 👌 I have the wrisy candy Nato already on the way! 😁

Are there any good places to buy tweed straps? I found some from a company called Vario and they're only 36USD for real Harris Tweed while many UK sellers seem to sell tweed straps for over 100GBP or Euros.
