I hate that feeling of buying a figure after waiting so long for a good deal and seeing it cheaper like a day after or afterwhile it bins in the aftermarket. It's hard to tell if a figure will go up or down in price, so I end up freaking out and biting the bullet earlier than I should've... You aren't a clown, it happens to all of us Still, I cringe when I think about how much money I'd save if i'd have been a bit more patient lol
You know what, there was NO way to tell the racing figure would drop in price. It could as well have kept rising to some insane Shibuya Scramble level... It was a good choice to pick it up soon, it looks amazing and I hope you are happy as an owner.

I love the Amakuni Saber (Alter) and I don’t even watch Fate! 😅 I noticed with interest your comments about figures that cost 18kJPY as price-y - it is, don’t get me wrong, but with the current pattern of manufacturers charging non-bunny scales over the 20k mark, I feel that seeing an 18kJPY figure would make me go “at last… something cheaper…”. I went on AmiAmi after this vid and noticed a lot of Fate figures and good looking ones too, are below 20k. You guys are lucky IMHO.

Man I keep seeing that Tomoe figure everywhere and I just.... I've never played FGO and have a passing knowledge of fate, but I love the way that figure looks so much! Like you said, the colours are just perfect! So vibrant and well placed for maximum effect. Genuinely considering adding her to my hunting list
AmiAmi's certainly been sluggish as of late; it took them 15 days to invoice me for Holo (yes, *that* quarter-scale), and my last few orders from them have taken a week or to actually ship. Also, Tomoe... I didn't pre-order her because I'm not a huge fate fan, and I'm the only person in the world to have had issues with Max Factory in the past... but fuck me, that's a gorgeous figure.
i believe amiami wanted the delivery to be fully covered by the delivery company, including product and the delivery, they probably faced many issues, where people complaint just about every single little thing like a dent on the box, and wanted compensation, not easy to do international business to be honest
I have both of those salters, and two more. I do not regret any of them, salter is awesome, she's only behind Rin(face) in terms of Fate characters for me. I got me the Jeanne&Mordred racing duo, I do think it is the best Fate racing set, the pose and flag makes it super dynamic. Unfortunately, it also makes it a space hog. Jeanne, vanilla or alter, likes to be a space hog in general. You *have* to have the flag, but if you have the flag, it doesn't fit anywhere easily. On shipping and related trouble. Ever since the shipping rate hike, I've been buying more figures on TOM as while their price tend to be higher, they provide free shipping (at least to the US, where I am). This have only recently became less advantage due to the yen depreciation which increased the effective price gap between TOM and, for example, AmiAmi, as TOM sells things in USD. Alas, the choice between the two is now often times a matter of currency speculation--if you expect yen to rise, buy on TOM, but if you expect it to fall, buy on AmiAmi(etc). And then there are some sites that are in yen but as pre-pay for you to potentially lock in on the low yen.... That time when figure collecting makes you a currency speculator....

AmiAmi's been making some questionable decisions lately. 🤔 Their reason for cancelling your order and the decision to suddenly not allow combined shipping for a bunch of scales makes it seem like they are extra paranoid about stuff breaking in transit. Wonder if they got an influx of requests to replace broken figures or something. Anyway, although it was kind of a "mixed bag", I like these figures overall. I love the vibe of the GSC Saber Alter especially lol, though I do agree with the cons. Something about a more casual scenario like grocery shopping is just charming lol.
I was wondering the same thing too, if AA got a bunch of complaints about minor issues like small dings on the boxes, and buyers asking for partial refund. Thank goodness no single shipment restrictions on the pre-owned stuff.

I feel you in regards amiami. My other pet peeve with amiami is that when you order. You have to wait for their shipping department to calculate shipping which I find abit annoying. Cause sometimes it takes several days. Though recently I have been only ordering and pre ordering off HLJ. And with them you do get the shipping price immediately. And sometimes get shipping discounts too. As for figures, I never played Azur Lane but I do play an alternate ship game that had azur lane collab with them with the AL captains and voice actresses. And I fell in love with Jean Bart. Which was my first ever figure at 1/7. Then I bought a further 5 more Azur lane figures. And then as a huge Fate Zero and FSN fan boy. I found out about fate extella game and FGO in mobile gacha game and again just got hooked. The gacha part is brutal. But the story are really nice. And made me fell for Jalter and Okita and Scathach. Which made me buy their respective 1/7 figures. With the huge Jalter figure by Alter as the most expensive one at 26500 yen. Followed by Okita alter at 20k she is also hugeee, both takes up one detolf shelf!!! Scathach by ques q she is also very pretty. Anyways rambling enough, the figures are soooo beautifulllll
I watch the Fate animes, I’ve never played any of the games. But I got my first figure from AmiAmi last week, it was a Fate character, it was the Saber/Mordred Clarent Blood Arthur 1/7 scale figure by Good Smile Company. But the one I’m really looking forward to is Semiramis from Phat Company, but I had to pay $399 for her, which is expensive I think.
Maybe I'm just conditioned at this point (lol!) but $130 USD for a 1/7 scale figure doesnt seem that expensive to me. There are definitely some FuRyu and Kotobukiya figures I think are too plain and simple for the price but these all looked great except the dull colors on shopping girl.
Dang that really sucks about the cancellation :( Its sooo hard to judge if an item will tank or skyrocket in the after market. So I think it was better safe than sorry to get it at auction. These mobile gaming figures are burning my wallet. Onmyoji, Arknights, FGO. I've only played arknights and that was after I bought a figure xD; Thought I might as well check it out if I'm going to get merch. FGO especially...I'm scared to start playing and get sucked in. Just got Gawain by Alter. Even more amazing in real life than the photos.
I never considered the fact that the company itself might cancel my pre-order... It worries me since the shipping options to my location (by post japan) are limited to surface and DHL only... and you don't want to use DHL unless you're ok with paying over $400 for one normal scale. It's insane.
Honestly I don't think you were a clown for not waiting. I've seen figures skyrocket and I've seen figures drop. It is almost impossible to predict what aftermarket is going to look like. Better to buy them now then risk them going up even more
I used to pre-order figures, but due to lack of space I now wait to buy on the 2nd hand market. I take a gamble of the figure price going up, but this way I buy figures I really want for hopefully a cheaper price.
Formula 1 racing tires are smooth, there’s no thread in the tires, they’re special tires that are kept warm and they just stick to the road, so the tires are supposed to be like that.
There are real life racing teams sponsored by companies like Good Smile that feature anime characters on their cars as promotional tools. Fate characters are featured on many a paint job of sports cars as well. They have auto shows with them often making an appearance. Look up "Fate Stay Night itasha" and you will see some cool art and even some race queens at promotonal events dressed like the characters sometimes. It's just popular cross promotion just like Hatsune Miku.

15k yen is on the very cheap side of 1/7 scales these days. All of my 1/7 pre orders are like 18-20k+ yen -_-
