i wouldn't recommend the anime, but the first corpse party game is one of my favorite pieces of horror media of all time! definitely recommend playing through it!
@@penguinz01lol it's horrible, they put a 16 hour game into a 30 minute anime, and doesn't even follow it that well (plus ruins one of the best characters)
I don’t see anyone mentioning this one, but since you like Midsommar, you might like the 1973 director’s version of the Wicker Man. It’s kinda similar but not at the same time. Related, there’s also Red Garden, but that’s more a zombie series
If you haven’t already, you should check out the Mononoke anime series! It’s a horror series with a traditional Japanese setting and art style. It’s not only spooky but also very much gets into psychological horror. (There’s also an absolutely stunning figure out of the main character)
This one is more "supernatural" than horror-horror, but "Dusk Maiden of Amnesia" is my all-time favorite anime and has some distinctly spooky moments and scenes. The plot is about a high school Paranormal Investigation Club where the president of the club is actually a ghost herself, but (in line with the title) she has amnesia. She and the other characters try to figure out why she died and what her past was. The horror elements, romance, comedy, creative art style and music... all of it is so on-point. If you don't mind some occasional fanservice, it's incredible.
I’m so for this character horror development: for movies I love black swan, the lighthouse, Texas chainsaw massacre is a big one (the original and second are the best), scream, haunting of hill house and bay manor (a show but whatev), cabin in the woods. Those are some big ones but for smaller movies I love the haunting of Debra Logan or descent. Horror anime is give or take: happy sugar rush, devil man crybaby, and chainsaw man
I recommend the first Corpse Party's Remaster, available on PSP and Steam. There's also a 4 episode OVA, but I'd save it for after the game. In terms of live-action, try Hereditary =)
I kinda like this Rena more since she looks so cute until you notice the hatchet. In the visual novel, her scary personality change doesn’t actually happen until several hours into the story so it feels really fitting to her character!
Since you like psychological horror, I’d recommend the J-Horror Theater anthology. The main ones are Infection, Reincarnation (my favorite Asian horror movie in general!), Premonition, and Retribution, but there are a few others that are “unofficially” part of the series (Kaidan, Sakebi, and Kyofu/The Sylvian Experiments). Some non-Japanese horror films to check out: The Maid (Singaporean), Heirloom (Chinese), Ghost (Korean), and the Whispering Corridors series (Korean). There are also a bunch of horror anime to enjoy, such as Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales and its spin-off Mononoke (there is one *gorgeous* figure that was made for the Medicine Seller, which is a personal grail of mine; just check out a picture of it sometime!), Another, Blood-C, Shiki, Umineko: When They Cry, Hell Girl, Petshop of Horrors, Hozuki’s Coolheadedness (though this one’s more comedy than horror-I highly recommend it nonetheless, since it literally takes place in Japanese Hell), Black Butler, Ghost Hunt, Paranoia Agent, From the New World, and School-Live! Those should keep you busy for awhile lol! But seriously, those all fall into the psychological horror sub genre, so I hope you like them!
I have loved the movie Signs since I was a kid and I only just got my fiance to watch it. The first thing he said after watching it was "now I get scary movie 3"
NO.6 isn't exactly horror perse, but it can be really terrifiying. I recommend the manga, the anime is great too! The manga really gives me chills though. It's super underrated too, so I REALLY recommend it.
ahh i adore the Texas Chainsaw franchise, i definitely recommend it, especially the classics! i really want the Halloween/Michael Myers figure, i love that series, and Michael 😭
I really loved the vampire horror anime Shiki! And of course, if you haven’t watched Tokyo Ghoul already, that’s one of my top fave series so I highly recommend it! Jun Mochizuki also has some good series with a horror twist: Pandora Hearts (an Alice in Wonderland spin-off) and Vanitas no Carte (a vampire series).
I love your figure unboxings. They're very informative and fun to watch! For an anime, Another is a decently scary anime. Gore, blood, and a bit of a twisting story. It's short, compared to others, but good.
If you haven’t already seen it, you should DEFINITELY watch Perfect Blue! It’s a psychological horror anime movie that is considered one of the best of all time! Highly recommend :) Another great video !
Omg! You should give BLOOD+ a try! It’s an old horror anime, and it’s kinda hard to find, but if you can find it to watch i recommend it. Their is only 1 figure for the show (I have it and it’s pretty cool), and it’s pretty cheap now! There is some stuff in the show that is definitely dated, but it has a special place in my heart from my childhood. It’s super niche and hard to find somebody else who watches it.
Amazing video! I highly recommend Mieruko-chan. Its such a fun anime with great horror aspect to it. Really hope they plan on making figures for some of the characters!
Leather Face, looks stunning! I'm so happy for you. I am though kinda jealous that you have Pennywise xD he or in this case she lol is my favorite horror character they have done but he is soooooo EXPENSIVE :( it hurts every time I look him up xD congrats though!
Horror movie recs- Suspiria (the original), Perfect Blue, Blair Witch, Get Out, Hush, Black Christmas, and the Night House. I'm probably forgetting so but these are all really good suspenseful and psychological horrors :3
Shinsekai Yori is an amazing psycological horror 😍👻 not really the gory horror but more focused on the psycological aspect. It's one of my favourite anime! A more traditional horror anime is Shiki 🧛🏻♀️ Hellsing Ultimate is also a great horror
I'm not a fan of horror but Kotobukiya's bishojou line of them are so nice. The Aniplex Sakura is gorgeous though, I think some people also held off buying her because of the Alter version that just got revealed. I love how Sakura fits with Salter though, I have both displayed with Sakura behind her. (I don't use the butterfly base though, it makes them WAY too wide using that...) Also since I'm delayed to watching videos and I'm doing them out of order - just wanted to add congrats on getting ems and air parcel back!! I saw the news for Australians the other day, hopefully it'll make things easier :D
I recently received the chiaki 1/4 bunny and am waiting on 14 figures with 9 of those being 1/4 bunnies. There are a lot of looking over the shoulder figures that I will collect. I will also buy all of the kotobukiya horror series and build overtime a horror collection. I will start my 1/4 azur lane collection possibly this month or next month. I will have a big succubus collection as well and yeah I also will have standing, sitting on a chair or sofa, kneeling, laying on back, laying on side, sitting on the ground and any other position figures mixed in to maximize the space in the detolf when I build them which will hopefully be tomorrow.
Some great horrors that come to mind are The Autopsy of Jane Doe, The Ritual, The Platform and The Witch. If you want horror comedy Dale and Tucker vs Evil is great. I love horror!!
if you enjoyed the higurashi anime I actually super recommend getting into the when they cry visual novels themselves! higurashi no naku koro ni as a story really flourishes in the original vn format, it's still one of my favorite pieces of media to this day :,) you can also dive into umineko no naku koro ni that way, which is an absolutely fantastic horror story I'm sure you'd love!
I love your new themed videos! They are a joy to watch. I second the Mononoke comments. The manga aren't published in English, but are beautiful as well. In terms of more mainstream content, Hannibal is a fantastic TV show! Rattling off some movies - The Conjuring (full series; best is The Nun), Paranormal Activity (found footage, classic jump scares), The Handmaiden, Shutter Island, Nocturnal Animals, Crimson Peak, Babadook, and Hereditary!
are we going to see your collab with gwen and danielle soon? 🙂 also, a great underrated psychological/horror/mystery anime is gosick. i think you’ll really enjoy it! great plot and all the death in it can be pretty gory 🔪
HUGE recommendation for the TV series Yellowjackets. It was picked up for 5 seasons and has one aired so far. Other horror content I'd recommend off the top of my head are Memento (film), The House in Fata Morgana (a visual novel!), Let the Right One in (original film not the remake), and Strangers From Hell (Korean TV show)!
I recently got Edward Scissorhands bishoujo and she's just gorgeous--the sculpt is so clean! I think the only other one I intend to get in the line is Beetlejuice--it's one of my favorite movies of all time! My only gripe with Beetlejuice's design is that I wish the first release was holding the Handbook for the Recently Deceased, not the rerelease. The nail file in the first release just kind of seems like an afterthought. Also, my favorite horror movies are Us, Get Out, Hereditary, the Conjuring, and Insidious! And you should definitely give Edward Scissorhands and Beetlejuice a watch, though I wouldn't really call them horror movies...they're moreso dark comedies haha. But great movies nonetheless, with the latter being one of my favorites of all time!
Psychological horror recs: Annihilation and Rosemary's Baby. If you're in the mood for something campy and weird, I recommend 8 Legged Freaks or Repo: the Genetic Opera. For horror anime, Ghost Hound is... not very good, but certainly a trippy watch.
I’m a huge horror fan, I love the adrenaline and right there with you with creepy/horroresque figures, that Miku Calne Ca from Bacterial Contamination is one of my few remaining holy grails. For horror movies, I’m rather picky, but I’d suggest the newest revamp of The Invisible Man, maybe Sinister (just the first one lol), and if you wanna go classic, the 1980s The Changeling. It’s an oldie but honestly left such an impact on me!
horror movie recs: - In the Tall Grass (2019) - The Transfiguration (2016) - Raw (2016) - The Green Inferno (2013) - It Follows (2014) - American Mary (2012) - Creep (2014) If you liked Midsommar, you will probably like A Classic Horror Story (2021) I think the scareist movie i have ever seen in my life is Climax (2018) You should definitely watch some of the classics, but personally i find more enjoyment in some of the newer stuff. I love spooky stuff, if I had the money I’d collect those Koto horror bishoujo girls xD Kotobukiya is probably my fave figure company in general because they make all the Yu-Gi-Oh statues and I’m a big yugioh fan.. Actually I think Koto is the only company who makes Yu-Gi-Oh figures…. And I have all but one of them! Thank you Kotobukiya from a Yu-Gi-Oh fan you have fed xD
I wanted to get the Bishoujo Jason or Ash. But I could never find either for a good price. I recently finally got my Dark Sakura and I unboxed it and loved it. For cool horror anime, Hellsing and Hellsing Ultimate. For normal horror, this was the first anime I watched when getting into anime other then Shounen, is Another.
Shiki & Another are two horror anime I really enjoyed. King's Game too, bit trashier but fun as hell. Same for Lost Village, and Darwin's Game. Any survival horror stuff I tend to adore, even tho I like all the cute stuff too XD
I love horror movies i hope we get more horror figures my favorite psychological horror movies are The shinning by Stanley Kubrick ,1408, and The Thing by John Carpenter
Horror anime usually isn't very good ;; but I can easily recommend perfect blue and summer time rendering (which is currently airing, hope it ends well) Since you liked higurashi I also suggest giving the umineko manga or visual novel a try
Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe was surprisingly horrific. While it is a JoJo spinoff, I think you'll like it whether you're a fan or not. It'd be nice if 'clean' Rena's price dropped even lower than it is but somehow you've convinced me to take another look at the Tragedy version. I think clean Rena on the blood spattered base would convey Higurashi's atmosphere well.
I'm not much of a horror fan nowadays but I used to love Baccano! and Parasyte when I was a teen. Otherwise, the early Yugioh manga has horror elements! ^-^
for buyee do use use surface mail or dhl shipping cause it warned me a lot of reports of surface mail shipments get damage but dhl shipping is like 200 aud
The Tragedy version of Rena was the first 1/7th I bought. She’s gorgeous, the blood makes her very eye catching. As for horror animes, I absolutely recommend Happy Sugar Life, it’s my favorite psychological horror anime. Edit: there’s also a manga of HSL
Haha, I was about to recommend you some of my favorite cute thriller-y "horrors" but you left me at loss for words with "Midsommar" 👀😅 Have you seen The VVitch? (I avoid horrors in general, but I really enjoy scary movies if they have enough aesthetics.. like The Sleepy Hollow, Interview with the Vampire, The Village...)
You should check out Another and Shiki. Shiki's style really turned me off the first time I tried to watch it but I absolutely loved the story once I actually did Edit: I forgot to add in School Live! It's one of my favorites and has some cutesy elements to it especially in the beginning
I love the Horror Bishoujo line! 🥰💀My favorite one is Pennywise - I adore her to death! 🤡☠Sadly, I can't afford to buy her (or any of the ones I love, Beetlejuice for example). *sigh*
Horror movies that I like and recommend are: - Oculus - Insidious 1-3 (4 was disappointing) - conjuring 1 and 2 (3 was disappointing - Marrowbone - the woman in black (1 and 2) You should definitely check "the haunting of hill house" if you like horror series.
I don't know, I like that version of Rena. The hatchet is so well concealed from some angles. Of what I know about Higurashi, it's very representative of her character. I think you lose a bit if that with the tragedy version.
i wouldn't recommend the anime, but the first corpse party game is one of my favorite pieces of horror media of all time! definitely recommend playing through it!
Is the anime bad?
@@penguinz01lol it's horrible, they put a 16 hour game into a 30 minute anime, and doesn't even follow it that well (plus ruins one of the best characters)

Yeah some Horror figures! The most somewhat spooky figure I own is Uta. Or possibly Himiko Toga with her sweet yet sinister smile.
I also picked up Sakura a while ago, and I couldn't stop staring at her for DAYS, such a gorgeous figure!
Definitely recommend Mieruko-chan, it’s a horror anime but also cutesy and kinda wholesome at the same time!

Ok I’m concerned because I was caught by your recommendation and put on happy sugar life. It seems very….. how do I say this……. Pedo-ey so far idk.
Not sure if u seen it, but I rewatch Parasite last week and it's awesome anime
Haha, I was about to recommend you some of my favorite cute thriller-y "horrors" but you left me at loss for words with "Midsommar" 👀😅
Have you seen The VVitch?
(I avoid horrors in general, but I really enjoy scary movies if they have enough aesthetics.. like The Sleepy Hollow, Interview with the Vampire, The Village...)
nice figs :o
Hello fellow Aussie, i recommend one of the best australian made horror thrillers 'The Babadook'..
You should check out Another and Shiki. Shiki's style really turned me off the first time I tried to watch it but I absolutely loved the story once I actually did
Edit: I forgot to add in School Live! It's one of my favorites and has some cutesy elements to it especially in the beginning
I'd be more afraid of a loli succubus compared to a full sized one because they could wreak more havoc due to their small size.
The movie The Others really messed me up. You should check it out
I prefer the Rena without the blood
Didn't know that Sakura figure was part of an ensemble duo :O
I love the Horror Bishoujo line! 🥰💀My favorite one is Pennywise - I adore her to death! 🤡☠Sadly, I can't afford to buy her (or any of the ones I love, Beetlejuice for example). *sigh*
Horror movies that I like and recommend are:
- Oculus
- Insidious 1-3 (4 was disappointing)
- conjuring 1 and 2 (3 was disappointing
- Marrowbone
- the woman in black (1 and 2)
You should definitely check "the haunting of hill house" if you like horror series.
Elfen lied!!
I don't know, I like that version of Rena. The hatchet is so well concealed from some angles. Of what I know about Higurashi, it's very representative of her character. I think you lose a bit if that with the tragedy version.
Great video and figures!! I recommend watching Gakkougurashi!, Mieruko-chan and Another. Let me know what you think :)
I have the red dress Beetlejuice
