I'm a basic bish and only play Genshin out of all gacha games. I do enjoy the gameplay and exploration aspect. However I do find Genshin figures to be a bit...lacking? There aren't a whole lot considering how many characters there are.

I’m loving Honkai Star Rail. I watched a lot of it through other people’s playthroughs and found it really engaging. The battles are turn based which I need. Can’t do action battling. My first gacha game after many years of regular gaming. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money but feel justified in spending as much as a regular game. Haven’t spent anything yet but it’s early days! Already pre ordered a Dan Heng nendroid😅 Thanks for another fun video Hailey (sp?)!

I love Azur lane, only gacha game I played where I felt that the free to play option is actualy viable and allows you to get every character. Also my first scale figure ever is going to be an Azur lane figure as their designs are quite appealing.

The Grand Order Jeanne and Robin example were a bit misleading since Jeanne's final ascension art was used and of course would be more attractive, but not Robin's. ;-; No justice for the nuke bow madlad.

It's an insult to Wada's art to say that Robin is "just a bloke". He's a fantastic character! And I much prefer Wada's art to Takeuchi's. I'm also just not a fan of Jalter.

I've been playing Azur Lane for over 5 or maybe even 6 years now and it's a really good gasha game. In all my time with it I only spend money once to get a girl and I'm at 98% rn.
Some AL figures go down hard, like the 1/4 HMS Black Prince and are a great way to get a very good figure for an even better price.
Btw your little french waifu is a WW2 Destroyer and not the post WW2 Submarine 😊.

Girls Frontline definitely isn’t that impressive from a gameplay standpoint. It’s the lore that pulls you in. I don’t want to definitively say it did a more edgy take on gacha settings first but it probably did. It directly inspired Arknights after all.
The split in figures makes sense. The main is quite serious and discusses a lot of themes mainly to do with AI, transhumanism, ideology, war and so on but there’s a few events that allow for a good bit of levity even if they may or may not be canon. Like it or not, it’s a waifu game. Despite what some might have you believe, waifus and ultra in-depth alt-history lore written like a spy novel aren’t mutually exclusive.
You ever actually read the Azur Lane lore? It’s insane. Same here. Gunboat or gun-without-boat, they’re attractive all the same.
I still kind want OTs-14 just for her OTs-14. We need more figures running obscure Russian prototype guns

I think the reason that there are not as many genshin figures as we hoped for is because it’s more difficult for Japanese publishers to get Genshin licenses from China or Mihoyo is just to picky, and no the majority of genshin figures are not from Kotobokiya, they are from Apex Toys, and that one is a Chinese publisher nothing surprising there xD

The reason Azur Lane succeeded where Kancolle died is... well, there's actually a few pretty good reasons.
Kancolle was xenophobic, outright banned foreign IPs from accessing the game, as well as refused to make a global version.
They refused to actually expand on the Abyssals, despite their popularity, so they remained generic villains.
Plus, they never actually swapped from browser game to app, despite the fact that it would've been able to get them a significant boost in popularity.
Finally, a lot of the Kancolle games are like... offensively generic looking. Just the same girl with the same outfit, and the same brown hair.
Inversely, Azur Lane has a global version which is kept up with the original version, and they're actually expanding on their Abyssal equivalency (Sirens), so they aren't just going to be generic villains. It's also an app, and the girls are generally more unique looking than Kancolle's offerings.
The global version's def the big kicker tho.

Azur Lane figures are awesome, however they're really expensive so it's tough to justify unless they're randomly a cheaper. Arknights was fun until I got to the point where it got really grindy and that turned me off.

the key to Gacha games is "Resource management". create 3 ways accounts and pull only characters essential for that account. e.g. in HSR make 1team to be hyper carry, 1 team as follow up and one DOT team. Then only pull for characters that emphasize those team. This way you won't miss any character, and you don't have to spend any money to sooth your addiction. win win

    • @LadySeeMoon
      @LadySeeMoon 6 месяцев назад

I'm doing kind of the same thing with fgo, I have one main account and one secondary account in the global server, and a third one in the jp serv. The second one is here as a support for the main (bc you can use other people's servants in battle so I can help myself) and the third is for testing and see which new character is meta changing or can be useful for my main account in 2 years
But it's really time consuming to manage multiple accounts at the same time especially with fgo bc it takes time to grow an acc
With HSR I can see why it can be viable, I think that you level up very fast and mostly, there is autofarm that helps a lot

My gateway drug to figure collecting was Azur lane's Jean Bart 1/7 by wings Co.
But I never really played azur lane. I just fell in love with her and her in game voice when I heard it. First waifu I guess in Azur Lane.
But then as a Fate fan on the anime side.
I found Fate Grand Order and I was hooked. Level 120 Morgan NP5 and Melusine NP5 as well in the NA server. And Jalter too which was my first ever SSR.
Needless to say, I ended up buying FGO 1/7 figures. (MFC if you check tk9t2)
First waifu Jalter figures 1/7 made by Alter and then the 1/7 made by Licorne. Both cost 60k yen total 😅. Licorne one is super rare but I manage to buy it brand new at its original price.
Then there's 1/7 scale musashi summers both ascension, GSC mordred, Zerker raikou, Murasaki shikibu, scathach, okitan alter and assassin, hokusai saber and more.
Not to mention the waifu's from azur lane. 1/7 race versions of atago and baltimore and the normal ver. Of honolulu.
And dd.. 1/6 bunny waifu zero two and her wedding version.
    😅
But for real though, they are all bloody gorgeous.
Also Salter with her motorbike is re released this year Dec. At only 12k ish yen. Which is worth although she's 1/8 scale.

I stopped playing video games before I got into anime (I get motion sickness fairly easily) but I do like a number of designs I've seen for these gacha games. I did PO an azur lane figure with a local store and cancelled it (losing my deposit) when I decided it was too simple with a high price and it tanked after release. There is another Azur Lane figure I am interested in (Perseus) because I think she is gorgeous, but I will wait till after release.

as someone who's only played genshin out of the gacha games, I was kind of shocked by how bad the gameplay in all the others looked. and the fact that you don't really get to play the character you're trying so hard to get (and possibly spending a ton to get) seems like such a rip off. genshin is definitely popular for a reason and is leagues above the others in terms of gameplay and the game itself, imo

I am not so much of an AL fan, but I am a ship fan. The French destroyer Le Triomphant is part of the Le Fantasque class that started service in the mid-1930s. Also, when saying "battleships," you showed HMS Belfast, a Town class light cruser, and the Japanese cruiser Atago, a Takao class heavy cruser. USS New Jersey is an Iowa-class battleship so that one was correct. Also, you are 100% accurate in saying AL is boring to play.

Yeah, for the life of me I cannot get into any of these games. But I do proudly own a figure of Silver Ash from Arknights. At the very least, I read a lot into him. I initially just loved his design. I also own a few Astolfo figures from FGO, though to be fair, I did watch the anime he's in. I do have a specific figure of his saber uniform, which has only been in the mobile game. But at the very least, I can say I do enjoy this character and experienced a thing he's from. The cool thing about figures is, you don't always have to know who the character is to buy the figure, some people try to only get their favorites from things they know, and some just scoop up whatever they think looks good as a figure. Nothing wrong either way! I generally try to stick to franchises I have dug myself into, however, a few times I got a figure of a character I like without knowing much of who they are, only to get into said thing later on.

Gacha is something I truly will never understand. Its cool and all but I see my friends pull on every new release. And then I found out it costs 10 to 20euros to do ONE PULL.
Like they dont even play the game. They play it on automatic or the game itself has absolute shallow gameplay. Like wtF.
The same with league. A great game that can be played fully free to play. You can even get cool skins now with ingame loots etc.
But no. Since my friends started working they wanna buy every new skin released. They dont even play that much. For characters they dont care
Wtf happened in the marketing department? They brainwasched all of my friends..
They spend 200 a month for gacha or bs like OF.
200euros is huge! You coukd make great trips, eat out, save, invest, actual FUN hobbies instead of appreciating pixels for 1day and then gamble again...
Heck they can waste it on media even i dont care, music, movies, comics, books ANYTHING BUT THIS BS

I very much view figures from any franchise, be it gacha game or anime, that I don't participate in as OC. I rarely(but I do) buy "OC". Indeed, buying figure just because they look cool will lead to nothing but bankruptcy and space overflow.
I only ever played two gacha game. One is Nikke, which I dropped because due to it not working with VPN(afaik anyway) and that it doesn't go much of anywhere. I'll probably buy the announced scarlet because I like my swordswomen, but that's it.
The other is FGO, which I've been playing for quite a while and still play. It is the franchise that I have the most figure by count. Most of them are fairly elaborate, but simple figures do exist and I have some. There are just a huge number of fate figures, so it covers all ranges, from prize to statue. FGO alone is approaching 2k while Fate in general is over 3k(FSN and FZ are the biggest after FGO, then there is FA, FE and god knows what else).
A bit of note on Fate: The characters aren't reincarnated, but rather summoned, and usually it is a "copy". They aren't all historical, they can also be legendary and from future/alternative timeline. The actual criteria is more of the "fame" variety, reaching sufficient renown eventually and anywhere to become recorded on the throne of heroes, from which the copies are created. Well... in normal cases, there are too many exceptions, just like how archers are not made of archers...
The concept of "holy grail" have to do with how magic(or rather magecraft) work in the Fate universe(or more broadly, nasuverse). Many rituals and magecraft require a legend basis to be cast and shaped. The holy grail within fate aren't *the* holy grail, but rather a magical construct that is shaped after it, using its legend to come into being for what it need to do (grant wishes, broadly speaking). That's why there are a lot, because anyone can create them if given the right conditions.
Now I can't be sure, but Fate(or rather nasuverse) probably have one of the most complex and complicated lore, due to being such an old franchise with a multitude of work if nothing else. Most other gacha game are on their own, with only a handful sharing a universe with anything else.

My first gacha game I got too deep into was FGO I think, I spent waaaay too much on that, and only after I stopped playing regularly did I get Shuten Doji T-T she eluded me for so long... but it was getting to be a slog. Princess Connect was the second I got into, but the english version ended after just 2 years... didn't spend alot on that though. Very generous with the premium currency. Genshin Impact I finally got into last year after avoiding it for the longest time but I wanted something more open world RPG-like to play so I tried it again and really enjoyed it. (Ganyu & Yae are my girls. Wriothesley is my dude XD) I wanna play more Honkai Star Rail(the main reason I tried Genshin again lol) but I'm still all in on Genshin for the moment. Me getting into both anime figures and gacha games is one of the worst things that ever happened to my wallet. That said, can't wait for more Honkai Star Rail figures!

I do like how gacha games can generate a crazy amount of characters and so many of them have banger designs. Food for my eyes ❤

I've been playing project sekai since the EN server release and I'm hoping and praying for some good scales or nendoroids of any of the characters besides the vocaloids. the costume designs are so cute and they would make amazing figures.

very first gacha i ever got into was FGO in like 2018, followed by Genshin in 2020 (brainrot still going strong unfortunately ) & most recently i've been into Alchemy Stars!!! it's one i don't see going around/people talking about a lot, but it's very near and dear to my heart and i totally recommend people checking it out for some chill gacha vibes!! it's heading on it's third year anniversary this summer, which flew by. thanks for the fun video, i'm also very excited for the future of gacha!! crazy to think about how far it's come :")

For genshin the music notes are her skill in game. Her pose is supposed to be her casting it.

Hoyoverse must be a nightmare to work with for figure companies. It's the only explanation for how they're SO popular with so few released figures! There's so many Genshin figures in development hell, too. Most infamously, they announced a bunch of nendoroids a full YEAR ago that still don't have prototypes. Like, what's the hold up here? 😭

Azur Lane is the only gacha game I play now (used to play Girls Frontline). Being a historian and lover of naval history, Azur Lane is a great combo of history and GIRLS. The gameplay is actually challenging and the collecting angle is very addictive.

Genshit impact is also mostly popular from China when it comes to the Gacha plain. + the fact they have a PC version too.

Fate Grand Order and Azur Lane completely own me 😂 Genshin has fell off, it’s kinda boring for me atm, but thank god for Honkai Star Rail picking up the slack lol. As a lesbian I’m very into the Azur Lane take on ships 😅😅 but as a historian I do love the battles mimicking WWII battles. And the ships themselves having lines that resonate. Historical accuracy in my gacha game? Yes please. Also HMS Liverpool has just been released and as someone who lives in Liverpool, she was an instant pull, and she took a single pull to come home, ‘twas meant to be. She’s lovely. 😍

Love Advance Wars, was a huge childhood game for me, shame Re-Boot was only "Fine".
I only play FGO in terms of Gachas. Though I'd say I like Azur Lane/Nikke's design's more overall, I picked FGO because I do actually like turn-based strategy and it still has very good designs/artists. I got into FGO because of Passionlip, and the first figure I ordered to start the hobby was of Passionlip. Wada doesn't get as much attention as Raita or Asanagi, but she for sure is cooking some wacky designs too.
Whereas, as you said, Azur Lane's gameplay is really boring and unengaging. So I'll support the designs through figures/merch, not the game. Nikke same deal mostly, don't care to point and click, plus just not enough space/time for two gachas. I'll buy Stellar Blade though, PS5 or not, just to support Shift Up.
Genshin/Honkai is of zero interest because designs are samey/boring. A gacha is only as good as it's characters, because that's all you're playing to earn. Literally all they need to do is take those models from Fate Grand Order Arcade and put them into a Genshin-like open world, and I'd play that all the time. Same of Azur Lane or Nikke though, to be fair. Arcade as a whole confuses me. They put all this work into 3D models for a game for Arcade Machines in Japan, that they easily could've ported to consoles/PC, but just haven't... for some reason.

I also collect based on aesthetic and I fell down the kantai collection rabbit hole. Never played the game but I just love the ship girl concept, especially those Abyssals. (Also a sucker for Ocean/Deepsea themed designs so they were right up my alley)

I play Genshin and I have sunk some $ in it I'm not a whale level maybe a dolphin level. Oddly enough I only have Mona as a figure I would like them all I just have not pull the trigger on them.
