Yes and in my experience the fan base of this game can’t help themselves and constantly spoil things in the comments especially if you make a choice they don’t agree with
I find it incredibly frustrating how hung up certain fans get when it comes to the paragon and renegade system. They’ll insist that new players and streamers should always choose one alignment or the other, never deviating. Which is an incredibly brain dead way to play the trilogy. These games are so much more fun if you forget about Paragon and Renegade as a concept and just make choices based on what’s right for the story and your character.

Comments can be a mine field throughout this game. My advice… you can certainly play this game super duper blind and that is indeed a fun way to do it. Just started this and normally I stray from those who like close-ups, but this is one is subtle, not obnoxious. With that in mind curious you're on PC, not console, thus the choppiness in frame rates here. @@basicwitgirlas you know you can develop relationships in the game. This occurred from a women RUclipsr in Mass Effect 2, and I suppose it is something only a woman would notice. "Imagine being called by your last name (Shepard) ... by your lover!"
Breaking news: The shakedown run of the prototype stealth warship “Normandy” was cut short when a grenade detonated onboard, causing explosive decompression and sending the ship crashing to a nearby planet.
Ahh a woman of Culture. As they say, please avoid spoilers, even in the comments. It needs to be said, this game is driven by conversation choices first and foremost. In Mass Effect 2, that will also include Paragon or Renegade interrupts where you must keep your hands on the controller at all times for those quick time events
like someone said below, obviously avoid spoilers but ALSO AVOID ADVICE. Sometimes people can unintentionally spoil through advice. Trust your gut and instinct and make the story your own and nobody elses!
Hi, first time here with you. ME1 is the most RPG, the next two are more FPS, but I appreciate the storytelling throughout the trilogy and the ways you can go back for multiple playthroughs. This'll be fun!

You're in for such a great story🙃The graphics looked dated for sure but if you can get past that the story and character development is awesome! Thanks so much Wit and have a wonderful weekend!
Everytime I see ME1 first playthrough with console, right after you get control and want to speak with someone, EVERYONE suddenly pick his pistol and throw grenade somewhere :D Funny that you did not disappoint either, even thou it seems you play on PC :D May you have great time playing this game (or entire trilogy). 😉
I am on my third full playthrough of the game. I will never get enough of the game or the characters. And all I will say is that I also wanted to date Joked when I first played 😂❤
love these 3 games. For ME2/3 you can edit some files so that Space Bar pauses the game without having to constantly hold it down (which is very annoying). It's not very hard, the MAss Effect Wiki has a technical section that explains how to do that. I also changed the game so I get full XP when shooting enemies from within the MAKO. makes more sense to me...
So, 47:00, I have a confession. I used to work long hours at my corporate job, and I deliberately got an apartment across the street from my office so that I could take a midday siesta. It was 100% worth it. No regrets.

I've been a Vanguard FemShep since the second Mass Effect for my FemShep when I have the opportunity to play this fun trilogy again for fun to me then a MalShep Engineer after for me flipping the game again for I back then to I flipping this fun trilogy back then to I.
I have never clicked a video so quickly 😂 I love your BG3 videos and how obsessed you are with Gale (because honestly, same 😂) so I'm really excited to see you playing one of my fave trilogies ❤ But, please, I beg you, dont listen to fandom about characters and so on and give them a chance yourself. I'm tired of people trying to turn players against certain characters and towards others in the comments 🙄🙄🙄
Ahhhh hi hi!! hope you liked the little Gale cameo during character creation😉 One of the main reasons I chose to do this playthrough as a RUclips let’s play and not live on twitch is for exactly that reason! I want to experience the characters and their stories through my own impressions and assumptions! I know people have their favs and didn’t want that influence from a live audience! Excited to get to know them all!
I prefer male shep, I just think his dialogue is more pronounced and emotional, and honestly people never give him a chance, his acting is AMAZING, but people never see it as they say "well everybody plays fem shep, I will too" I have played fem shep and I prefer male shep always!
I personally prefer FemShep, but my first playthrough was as MaleShep, and I like both performances quite a lot. Btw, did you know Mark Meer (MaleShep's voice actor) also voices most/all Hanar, Vorcha, and (I think) Elcor characters? (except one Elcor who is voiced by Jennifer Hale, FemShep's VA instead)!
well tbh it’s just nice to have a female option that was one of the FIRST real options where you didn’t need to play a man in these types of games lol. (plus i prefer jennifer hale over anyone, maleshep is majorly flat and nowhere near her imo)
I've been a major player since video game stuff as a child for my disabled ass for I to the first game I was a MalShep Engineer before I making a FemShep Vanguard for second plus third and flipping the original Mass Effect trilogy on my PS3 back then to I 😊.
I can't recall ever getting a headache from watching a video, but this choppy framerate did a number on me. I'm glad you've got it all sorted out for the next one. I'm looking forward to it.
@basicwitgirl so...... I just decided to go and watch your playthrough of ME 1.... So.... You and Joker, huh? Kaiden was not an ep1 love at first sight? You wanted... Joker? 😂😂😂 I can't wait to see where it all goes downhill lol
That’s something I like about Mass Effect that no matter how significant or insignificant the characters are , how long or how little their screen time is they’re all memorable
It is IMPERATIVE that you avoid spoilers, that you *LISTEN* to advice, and that unlike some of the commenters here you are able to *tell the difference between the two concepts.* You don't need advice on everything, obviously, but two or three simple, important, *spoiler free* notions in each game will make the difference between a mediocre, confused, largely incomplete and most importantly unsatisfying run (or possibly even incomplete), and *_having the best gaming experience of your life._* Food for thought. 😉
Love watching new people’s playthrough but the frame rate was so bad so couldn’t stay. Hope you can figure out how to fix this with your capture card. Will check back later. Have fun with your ME journey! :)

Editing on point 😂 love to see it!
My editor is a genius at what she does😂
45:43 "He was my job reference." I guess that's the "wit" in your channel name. That is the second best line of all the playthroughs I've watched.
Hahaha glad you laughed! now I’m curious what the first best was 😂
@@basicwitgirlas you know you can develop relationships in the game.
And the series ended before it even began!😂
And to think, the Vanguard doesn't even fully come into its own until Mass Effect 2.
I'm excited to see how the role unfolds, but please be careful with spoilers! ☺
New viewer here! Excited to see people playing Mass Effect for the first time! You'll have a blast! it's the Star Wars of video games!!
Welcome aboard!
Oh boy, strap in and get ready for a ride. Make your own choices and don’t let anyone get to you about how you should be playing
I'm dodgin spoilers like Neo in The Matrix!
@@basicwitgirl go get em Trinity!
like someone said below, obviously avoid spoilers but ALSO AVOID ADVICE.
Welcome to a world of wonders and story.
Just do what u think and feel is right and dont listen to what others say about the decitions u have to make. There are lots of choices in this series. I mean LOTS
Ur channel may also explode with ME fans so brace urself!
Cheers!
Here from Tiktok and let's go! Can't wait for the playthrough and Kaidan love 💖
I’m just starting the video but make sure you talk to your crew between missions! Or you could miss good backstory and characterization.
Came from your DA video to here. Great first watch. Love the reactions and the cuts.
hey welcome!! if you like the ME playthrough on ep 1, I can confidently say it will only get better!
I just stumbled across your channel after looking for someone doing a play though with commentary. Even better that you went in blind. I love this series and 15 minutes in, I know I’ve got a ton of catch up watching to do
Shout out to my FYP for recommending a first play through of Mass Effect, excited to see how it goes for you! Please try and avoid as much spoilers as possible and I hope you have a blast!
YAY HI WELCOME FROM FYP!! Sorry about Ep 1, but hope you make it through the tech difficulties and join for the journey!
17:12 🤣 Well, editor certainly has incredible skill
Make sure to keep Charm maxed out it will be useful, and this game came out the same year as Uncharted 1 so 2007
These games are massive with an in depth story, and lots of places to explore. # 827
You're in for such a great story🙃The graphics looked dated for sure but if you can get past that the story and character development is awesome!
Thanks so much Wit and have a wonderful weekend!
Thanks for watching!! You too!
Not to get ahead of ourselves. But if you end up enjoying these games, you must check out Dragon Age! Ooo she would totally romance Fenris
I want to see Basic meet Alistair, Cullen and Fenris. The Dragon Age boyfriend trifecta.
Woah hold your horses! It's just the first episode of this masterpiece.
@@dyegorodriguez2126 I know lol I’m sorry. It’s just the BioWare effect
Bioware is famous for girl pick up technique.
Majority girl players romance same character.
Enjoy the best game I ever played!
Off to a good start, it looks like.
Welcome aboard, Commander.
Glad to finally be diving in!
I played all 3 games as a Sniper.
It''s a bit challenging in 1st game, then it gets easier, but very cool.
Welcome to the lore of Mass Effect Miss Basic!!!! Enjoy the journey!!
Make your own choices no matter what
“is (Joker) a romance option?” in the vanilla games, no. but wait for the Hatboy Project mod to come to the Legendary Edition 😉
love these 3 games.
Omg the first Kaiden giggle 🥹🤧😂❤
Why is it that every game with an introductory passage always requires you to speed read it? lol
Looking forward to bingeing this.
So, 47:00, I have a confession. I used to work long hours at my corporate job, and I deliberately got an apartment across the street from my office so that I could take a midday siesta. It was 100% worth it. No regrets.
@@ConsultantSal hahaha I did as well! On Fridays if I had too much OT, I’d take a long lunch and just snooze away!😂
@@basicwitgirl Hahaha no way! OT well spent I say! I used to get so many evils from my colleagues when I went home for a nap. I started bribing them with doughnuts.
One time, one of my clients unexpectedly showed up in the city and wanted to discuss a large contract. I had just woken up from a nap and realized there was no way I could get ready and make it to the office in time. So, I improvised and said, "Yeah, totally! Come over to my place and I'll make us some lunch." The client hesitated but agreed with an "uhhh, sure?"
It turned out to be one of the best meetings I've ever had. The client was thrilled and later told my boss, "You know, this was such a refreshing part of my day. It was laid back, and we got a lot done." My boss nearly lost it when he found out I took the meeting at my place, but he just ended up saying, "Next time, just run it by me first."
Moral of the story: naps pay.
@@basicwitgirlHahaha No way! That's OT well spent 👌.

Hi basic wit girl I came across your channel and I must say enjoying your play through. I am currently on ME 2
welcome! hope you are enjoying your own playthrough!
Loved this series, along with the Dragon Age series, also from Bioware.
I've been a Vanguard FemShep since the second Mass Effect for my FemShep when I have the opportunity to play this fun trilogy again for fun to me then a MalShep Engineer after for me flipping the game again for I back then to I flipping this fun trilogy back then to I.
I have never clicked a video so quickly 😂 I love your BG3 videos and how obsessed you are with Gale (because honestly, same 😂) so I'm really excited to see you playing one of my fave trilogies ❤
But, please, I beg you, dont listen to fandom about characters and so on and give them a chance yourself. I'm tired of people trying to turn players against certain characters and towards others in the comments 🙄🙄🙄
Ahhhh hi hi!! hope you liked the little Gale cameo during character creation😉
One of the main reasons I chose to do this playthrough as a RUclips let’s play and not live on twitch is for exactly that reason! I want to experience the characters and their stories through my own impressions and assumptions! I know people have their favs and didn’t want that influence from a live audience! Excited to get to know them all!
I am SO EXCITED FOR THIS!
Mass Effect LE is amazing game package. Keep up the videos.
Damb Really nice Swords.
Saren looks so much like Ultron. Also, I'm eagerly awaiting when you discover the minimap in the lower right.
I will EVENTUALLY 😂
Great listening :) I just hope you don’t have the frame issues on your end
It didn’t seem AS BAD when I was playing, but all is fixed for ep 2!
Wild take
@@exessen1684 It's literally not a wild take.
Spacer, ruthless, engineer. Always Femshep!
Emotional rollercoaster or not, this trilogy saved my sanity while my youngest son was fighting cancer multiple times.
games are truly so special! glad you had a distraction during what i'm sure was an emotionally taxing time!
I've been a major player since video game stuff as a child for my disabled ass for I to the first game I was a MalShep Engineer before I making a FemShep Vanguard for second plus third and flipping the original Mass Effect trilogy on my PS3 back then to I 😊.
Don't feel bad, I've never played any of the ME games either. 😆
16:39 Well, you did just nearly blow up someone with a grenade.
LET'S GOOOOO
Alright, time to subscribe, Mass Effect first timer, my weakness
welcome aboard!
I can't recall ever getting a headache from watching a video, but this choppy framerate did a number on me. I'm glad you've got it all sorted out for the next one. I'm looking forward to it.
21:03 MOSTLY peaceful farming community of course 😅
I can't believe you're romancing [spoiler] when we all know [spoiler] is the best choice.
indeed
@@JustShin11Shepard, your boyfriend has an order for you 👽
@@ZippyMrMewMan now I'm crying, just that short sentence brings back so so many memories !
Agreed, but there is time yet, and to be fair in ME1 he's still a bit young, maturity wise.
@@JezaGaia such good games. I can’t believe I waited so many years to play them
@basicwitgirl so...... I just decided to go and watch your playthrough of ME 1....
So....
You and Joker, huh?
Kaiden was not an ep1 love at first sight?
You wanted... Joker? 😂😂😂
I can't wait to see where it all goes downhill lol
Oh you’ll know when it happens…..
Honestly, I’m so sad about Nihilus. And we barely got to know him but he seemed chill.
That’s something I like about Mass Effect that no matter how significant or insignificant the characters are , how long or how little their screen time is they’re all memorable
"It's not as cute but it's better" truly the struggle is real
It is IMPERATIVE that you avoid spoilers, that you *LISTEN* to advice, and that unlike some of the commenters here you are able to *tell the difference between the two concepts.*
You don't need advice on everything, obviously, but two or three simple, important, *spoiler free* notions in each game will make the difference between a mediocre, confused, largely incomplete and most importantly unsatisfying run (or possibly even incomplete), and *_having the best gaming experience of your life._*
Food for thought. 😉
Love watching new people’s playthrough but the frame rate was so bad so couldn’t stay. Hope you can figure out how to fix this with your capture card. Will check back later. Have fun with your ME journey! :)
It’s fixed for ep 2!
Basique is incredible, it's true
Shepard's cute, you are to, never played mass effect, just found out about it in the starcon video I think I'm hooked already put it with my FO4,and stellar blade think I'm going to enjoy it ❤❤❤😂😢 14:48 14:51 😅
Can you romance characters, like I. Fallout4 and Skyrim
All I will say is brace yourself you are in for a wild ride and look forward to watching you take it.😅
Jenkins, RIP, is the GOAT ... and Powell is the George Costanza of the Mass Effect universe.
I'll be making another female Vanguard Shepard again for myself since I randomly making a FemShep Vanguard in the second plus third game I'll be flipping the trilogy first as a FemShep Vanguard before a MalShep if I ever get that opportunity for flipping this great trilogy 😜 again to I.
Don't read any comments until you finished playing the 3 games.
I would love a little 15 hour nap right now.
Same 😂
I wish Joker was a romance option but hes not:( youre smitten with Kaiden 😅 juuust wait till you meet the real heartthrob Garrus and his soothing voice lol
Can't say I've ever seen someone so hot and bothered for Joker, lmao
My heart will go on... (as you will soon find out 😂)
It's not a blind mass effect playthrough without failing to finish reading the intro lol.
Does anyone catch the reference of Leeroy Jenkins from WoW?
Ooh, excited to see where this goes!
INCREDIBLE SKILL edit = too much 🤣
INCREDIBLE SKILL😂
6:36 You could say you're Basic. 😂
Welcome to the obsession. If you want plenty of flavour in this game you should talk to everyone you possibly can. A pity you missed the conversation between Jenkins and Dr Chakwas right at the start.
If you pick spacer your parents are still alive and you even get to talk to your Mum in the last game. Vanguard gets real fun in the next games, it's pretty mid in ME1 IMO.
Have you recognized who the voice actor is for Joker?
Little atractiva hippie from That Seventies Show back then when used to me able to seeing that funny ass show for fun to me back then for fun to I during the Nighte's for fun to me back then before graduation on June of 98 before my birthday at end of November for I back then to me.
