I’ve been working for Amazon for three years now and I think I’m ready to quit too I’ve faced nothing but discrimination and racism and I am a black college educated woman and I’ve been constantly denied other roles at this company and I’m ready to just leave it’s not worth it.

Lol... so many people are tired of this. You can't criticize someone of color, they all need to be promoted much more than white people or hold higher jobs despite the ratio. Just because

She will more than likely win the Lawsuit against Amazon, it proves that all Amazon Employees need to Unionize.

She’s not lying. Black people do get promoted slowly. A lot of black HRA’s. I’m the only person on my shift with a Master degree. All of my bosses of BA’s and I’ve been an HRBP at a different company and have been doing HR for a long time. I’m facing Veteran discrimination now.

I used to work at a private high school back in the day when my boss went on vacation he asked me if I could check everybody's restroom before it was time to go home so to make sure that they were cleaned I checked on workers restroom and it was not touched it was a total mess piss on the floor toilets not flushed as I confronted him about this the first thing he called me was a racist he says you're picking on me because I'm black!!!!!! I told him what does that have to do with anything you did not do your job it's time to go home and the restroom hasn't been touched so what did he do he stormed out of the building called me a racist and that was the end of that my point is some people are racial opportunists they will cry racism to try and get a lawsuit for their own benefit

Good for them. Too many toxic bullying crooks who get away with all forms of abuse and discrimination. Don't let them get away with it.

I (Namibian) am not surprise by this. I applied for several positions at Amazon in Cape Town. I managed to get shortlisted for a position. Interview pack was send to me to prepare for interview. After a day it was cancellled, not the interview, just me, I asked why, no proper reason was given by HR. Then I realised they properly looked at my linkedin profile, realised I am black, and decided not to go on with me. Racism is common in South Africa, however I got use to it and just move on.

I always wonder about employees that sue their employers. Once they leave, is it hard to find another job? Whether they win or lose their lawsuit, I think it would push their C.V. to the bottom of the pile, or to the trash.

I think so too. But now a lot of people are into activism and Civil Society organisations who try to fight to end racism and gender discrimination and employee maltreatment.
She can find a job there or set up her own Civil Group and raise funds for various causes as she has become famous.. You will be astonished the amount of money that goes to these
Organisations from the 1% and big companies that are always evading taxes, in the name of philanthropy.
She will make more money now than actually working with Amazon. People become wealthy claiming they are there to help others who cannot speak for themselves.

@@nsn5564 I've had it easy; I'm an able-bodied, straight, white man. The person who was guilty of race and gender discrimination has been fired. I understand why lawyers want sue the company: deep pockets. I don't know (1) how the company could have been expected to predict the future by hiring this guy and (2) why a jury doesn't realize this, and end up awarding money to the plaintiff.
It doesn't take bravery to sue your former employer. It takes greed.
And Amazon fired the guy, so they won't continue their 'asshole' ways.

@@weisserth I can only hope that she has great difficulty finding a job. Maybe she writes an article letting the world know that she overreacted and recommends every other person who feels discriminated against think long and hard about suing your employer (or former employer). Everyone's history (in whole or part) is just a Google search away. And the Internet doesn't forget.
