    That's an amazing deal Dave! I bought a 2023 EUV about a month ago now, the first '23 my dealer sold. It's a Premier with the sunroof and super cruise. I'm loving the car; already took it on a longer 300 mile trip and used DC Fast Charging. I, like you, ceramic coated the car except I decided to DIY. Hopefully I knew what I was doing but so far it looks great. Also tinted the back windows at 25% and front at 80% for a "factory" SUV look. Keep us posted on your car.

    What I don’t accept is GM giving $6300 reduction and the dealerships in CA touting how great this price drop by GM, but then the dealership, the middleman in game, adds on a $5000 charge on the MSRP. Great, GM pats itself on the back giving the price reduction, and the middleman or person, takes it away. The same nonsense with BMW, $10,000 above MSRP, the same with KIA EV pricing $10,000 above MSRP and this greed seems to permeate the whole EV market. The only two EV manufacturers who stand by one price Tesla and Fisker. I can wait until to 2024 for my Fisker, no middleman dealership to deal with, price set at $30,000 for the Fisker Pear, and the same with my partner purchasing the Fisker Ocean One, $60,000+ and no markups.

Found your channel while searching for Bolt related questions and tips, and I really like your Bolt videos. Biggest drawback to the Bolt so far is OnStar Remote Access Plan is advertised as a standard feature on the MY23 Chevy Bolt site but OnStar claims otherwise.

    I've been saying this - The Bolt EV and Bolt EUV ARE the "$25,000 Tesla" that everybody is waiting for - except they don't have to wait - It's here right now. An EV that you can get for less than $30,000 after all the tax, title and fee.

    I just picked up my 3rd Bolt today. The 1st was a 2017 model which I bought in 2019 for 15000 dollars and GM bought it back from me in May of 2021 for the battery defects. With the money I got back, I bought a 2021 ev LT brand new on May 30, 2021 for 21,200. This car was again bought back by GM last week, again due to the battery recall. I loved my bolts as an uber driver for the past 3 years, which only required rotating and replacing tires as maintenance. I put about 4000 miles a month as an uber driver. I therefore with the 2023 discounts of 5900, 2000 off for being g an Uber driver, 500 dollars costco discounts and 3000 for a Chevy lease return, I purchased a 2024 Bbolt EUV LT Red Line package with leather seats and red stitching and 2 other packages for 26,134. With the 1000 dollar charger installation paid by GM and the 2024 7500 federal tax rebate, I believe it was a pretty good deal. What do you think. I ordered a glass screen protector for this screen.

  • @leppard98
    @leppard98 Год назад

    Bought my 2022 EUV in July, and like you noticed from DAY 1 the fingerprints on the screen are horrible. Worst I have EVER seen on ANY electronic device. I don't know if I am allowed to post an Amazon link, but found a "screen protector" that fits EXACTLY on the screen and now get about 95% less fingerprints. Fits so well nobody would ever know it is on there.

    Hi Dave. I just wanna tell you that because of your videos I was inspired to buy a Chevy bolt 2023 LT. I received it only a few days ago and it’s been wonderful but I do want to tell you an oddball thing that happened today. Normally you expect the charge to taper after 50% or 60% well it did going from 53 kilowatts per hour starting at 24% battery going down to about 35 kW per hour when it hits between 50% and 60%. Then it did the unusual. It jumped up by the time I stopped charging at 87% battery after about an hour and 10 minutes, the charger was hitting 43 kW per hour. This was at a relatively new charging station called park plus charge in Toronto there a small chain maybe four outlets and I was using the charge at 75 kW per hour. I have the pictures to prove this. I’m very happy and surprised by this as well. What I want to know is has Chevy done some kind of magic with their charger? Or is it this new charging station that’s responsible. I fully expected this vehicle to stay at 35 kW after tapering when it hit 50%. I didn’t expect it to jump back up to 43 kW per hour. Do you have any thoughts? I have the photos to prove it like I said.

From what you've said, and what I've read, it's perfect for my daily commute to work, groceries, and whatever situation I will need. Anything after that, I could rent, which will easily be budgeted with the setup. Can't wait to get my hands on one and tell the oil companies to suck it.

    My 2020 Bolt EV Premier cost zero dollars total to lease for 3 years, 10k miles a year. I'm getting it swapped under the battery recall for a 2023 EUV Premier Redline and I'll be able to buy it out for the buyout price of the old car so I think I've got you beat on total cost of ownership. My buyout is 23k but you've got to take into account the 13k you paid to lease yours. Dealership employees only get a couple of hundred off sticker before incentives? And you still have to pay doc fees? That sucks! Schumacher should be hooking you up a little more than that, unless that extra 2k you were talking about were dealership dividends.

    I’m planning on getting a Bolt EV early next year. In June my in-laws are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary, they’re renting a house in the Outer Banks and all their kids/spouses and grandkids are going down there with them. So, we will be driving about 820 miles to get there from Michigan. I used A Better Route Planner to see what that drive will be like in a Bolt EV. It will be 14-ish hours of driving and 4-ish hours of charging, 18
    hours total. There are five charging stops, mostly an hour or less. Total estimated cost? Under $75. Right now we’re driving a 2009 Chevy Impala which gets 23-24 MPG. Gas would be about double that at $4/gal. Each way of course. Keeping in mind that fast charging on the road is the most expensive way to charge it is STILL half as expensive as gas. Sure, I’m paying for that in time, but the Bolt is a relatively slow charging EV, some others charge way faster (but also cost twice as much, there’s always a trade-off.) I’m
    100% fine with this trade-off. Stops are 2-3 hours apart, that is about how long my wife’s bladder lasts anyway. We’d be stopping anyhow, just stopping for a bit longer. I have to rest more and save money? Not the worst thing in the world.

    Haven't ordered a center console storage compartment tray for my EUV yet; but it's on my to-do list. I 'm avoiding using the compartment right now since the NFC spot to tap a keyfob to start the car if the fob battery is dead is at that bottom of the compartment. The fob battery going dead is not something I should have to worry about for a few years; but would hate to be in a hurry and have to empty out a compartment full of odds and ends to get the car started.
    If they are going to keep the NFC tap to start location in the console compartment, then I'd like to see Chevy provide some sort of console tray as standard equipment.

    We just picked up our new 2022 Bolt EUV three weeks ago and it has been great so far and totally agree with you on the deal, it just became a no brainer under $30k. We got lucky and found an LT on the lot with some options on it that the buyer had backed out on. We had to wait a week for the battery replacement to be completed, so that's been done. We signed the papers at the dealership on Friday morning and I sent Qmerit (Chevys vendor that handles the installs) my install photos that same day, via the very simple website process they walk you through. By Sunday we had an electrician assigned and it was installed Tuesday. We found some local pay DC charge stations and tested the apps over the weekend so we could get in plenty of drive time in the new ride, but having the home charging installed in less than 5 days from purchase was pretty impressive and went very smoothly. Chevrolet including the charger and home install of the 240V drop really made the purchase simple and our local dealer, Sands Chevrolet was really great through the purchase process as well. The price point of our 2022 Bolt EUV with the price reduction rebates of the 2023s rolled back to the 2022s, plus a family employee discount from GM made it a real no-brainer for a new commuter car that we don't really plan to use for long trips. I will probably keep my eye out for a 40A charger for home, since the charger Chevrolet gives you is a 30A, so 7.6kw limited at home and the Bolt will do up to 11kw on Level 2 & the 40A gets you close to 10kw. Figure if I'm going to buy a spare charger i might as well get a higher rate model that it can use for even a little faster home charging.

    Did I understand you that we can charge for FREE at some GM dealerships? I thought the salesman indicated that I could do that when I did my first test drive, but assumed there was a fee to do that. If so, is it a fast charger or just a 120v slow charger?

    Hey Dave! Awesome video! I was thinking of getting the 2023 Bolt EUV as a second car but I’m gonna wait for the new ev tax incentive. My worry is when January ‘23 comes around that the demand will be so high on this car that the dealers will probably mark up the car. If i was on the east coast I would buy the car from you but alas I’m in California. Thanks!

    • @StreakingTiger
      @StreakingTiger 2 года назад

      I just bought a 2022 Bolt EV and thought about waiting. The government has so many rules on that tax credit in 2023 that you're probably going to get cheated out of most or all of that if you wait. I thought long and hard about that, and grabbed the "bird in the hand, instead of 2 in the bush". This deal that GM is giving today might disappear in 2023 along with getting the Level 2 charger installed at GM's expense. I recommend that you leap now and you can thank me later (or not). These are HALF the cost of buying the cheapest Tesla and they are awesome IMO. Most hard-working people can afford this EV and it works great. I'm retired and did not even need a car, but still glad I did this.

    When it comes to the 2022/2023 Bolt EV vs Bolt EUV, I'd say the looks on the Bolt EV are actually more appealing for what the vehicle is. The 2022/2023 Bolt EUV is slower, smaller on the inside, and less efficient than the 2022/2023 Bolt EV.
    For those looking to buy a new Chevy... if you can wait a couple of years, the Equinox looks great. If you have to buy now, buy the 2023 Bolt EV and not the 2023 Bolt EUV.
