DJI absolutely smashed it out of the park with this bike. The most energy dense battery with the fastest charger. There's no need for a second battery. The range is magical compared to other less powerful bikes. All at the weight of a typical 400 wh Bosch SX, TQ, Fazua bike. They had some brilliant people working on this bike. I can't wait to see what they do with the Gen 2 version.
Great review Will 👌 I've got one and agree with everything you say 👍 there seems to be a lot of naysayers our there, judging the bike and it's build and reliability. One in the eye for them 👊 if you can get one, buy it. It's a brilliant contribution to emtb. Well done Dji and Amflow 👏
I have Tern Orox (800 Wh battery) and it probably takes around 5 hours to charge. Having it charged in under 2-3 hours would be a game changer. I was traveling in Spain and charging mid-day at an EV station or a cafe would only give me 10-20%, unless I sit there unusually long. I'm hopeful for the ebike industry. There is also quite a huge improvement in battery industry in parallel, so we might get newer and safer types. It would be fantastic to be able to fly with such large batteries.
yeah 5 hours is just too long init! Now DJI has done it, I'm hoping all next-gen ebikes that come out will be fast charging, cause it really is a great feature, especially for bikes with non-removable battery
thanks! And yes i agree, they're a nice bonus! I stupidly forgot to mention the touchscreen in the video and thats another small feature that i'm grateful for!
Great bike and good review. Bought my first ebike this year. Would've purchased the amflow (spec levo turbo instead) but don't think they will be available in the states for a while.
Yeah i'm hoping they can fix their motor rattle and update their displays/controllers, cause there's some pretty sick bikes that come with Shimano that i'd love to own (Orbea Rise, Propain Sresh for example) Cheers for watching man!
@@willgreenfield I've got an original Orbea Rise, one motor replacement but frame still going strong after 2 1/2 years (9000kms) of riding it in way more gnarly territory then it should be, plus I'm 90kg rider.. so that said, its a super solid package. I wonder if the amflow will be as bombproof?
Interesting revue (both of your videos on this bike) currently love riding my Atherton AM.130 but if I decided to consider owning an e-bike then the Amflow would get my cash. Thanks for posting
I’m liking mine so far. I agree the ol Horst 4 bar is a good choice - I find the Amflow feels very similar at 10/10ths to my old Spec xwing enduro. Nice. Haven’t noticed any major adverse flex issues in my XL. I think this is the perfect trail bike - for the blues I ride. Apropos, I’d prefer a 66 degree hta, so it turned in a bit snappier (who needs a sled?), but that’s just me. I’d put an angleset on it in a flash to achieve this but that funky knockblock jiggery in the head tube might just rule it out? We’ll see…
DJI are very good at updates and listening to user feedback. I don't have one of these bikes but I do use DJI drones and they are very good with updates and customer service on that side of things.
I have mulleted mine. I swapped the carbon Amflows wheels for hope’s and I have never looked back. The mullet set up makes the bike even more playful than it already is….. do it man!!!!! I sold my carbon wheels and made a profit of £500 after purchasing my Hopes.
Thanks for the further update Will. I'm looking to change my Gen 3 Levo this year and the Amflow is obvs on my shortlist. Would be very interested to hear what you think after a mullet setup as that's my preferred setup. I'm a short guy so 29er rear is not always great...unless you like regular butt buzz lol.
Thanks for watching boss! And yeh i think the mullet will take this bike to the next level! Having that and a 170 fork setup would be wicked so defo need to try it at some point... And gen 3 levo is still a great bike, loved mine!
I have found your videos on the Amflow very helpful Will - thanks. Where do you see the battery percentage of the wireless controllers that you mentioned? I have looked (including in the owners manual) and can't see it (not that it will be an issue for a while I guess!). cheers
No worries, glad you find them useful! And should be in the bike's menu under "accessories" and then click on the left or right controller and it should say the battery percentage! That's what mine shows anyway :)
My Rise with the 360 battery is 17kg with pedals, whilst it doesn't have 100NM, it has 85, i really dont think more power would make it better, worse in fact as due to it's weight i never need or use Turbo. Also the range is really good as i only need lower power modes, again due to the weight. Power to weight is key. The Amflow looks a great bike though, if they did a 400 battery to drop the weight that would be interesting. Good review 👍🏻
Yeah the rise is a great bike, i rode the new LT M10 and i really enjoyed it! I think it actually rides quite similar to the Amflow on the downhills, as the rear end of that bike was also not the stiffest. And i do think 85nm is enough for most situations too, no one needs to have 120nm, but it is definitely a little more fun haha! Thanks for watching!
@@willgreenfield my friend has custom build Rise, but riding with our group with full fat ebikes he bought second full fat ebike as well, with enduro geometry. DJI system is looking really nice, but also I would like to see more enduro focused frames. This year there will be more bikes implementing the system....
What would be your second choice? This bike almost seems to be in a category of its own. I’m in the market but located in the US. I don’t think we’re getting it this year
I think i'd probably go with the next best motor and battery system at the moment which is my opinion is the new Bosch... That gen 5 motor is completely silent no rattle, it's got enough power, it's very refined in how it delivers it, and they've been teasing that new top tube screen cutout thing for a while so i'm hoping it'll have a touchscreen soon too... Also really like the Orbea Rise, that would be a great option if i was looking for something i could have for a similar weight to the Amflow... 630Wh battery and up to 85nm in the top mode! Either that or you wait and see if you can get one of the new Unno or Forbidden DJI bikes that they've been teasing on social media!
I would say for 90% of my rides it is yes... but for the few times i travel to locations that have more elevation (like wales for example) i would prefer the 800... i do love the fact the 600 is lighter, but until they release a range extender for the bike i think most people will just go with the 800, especially if you wanna use the turbo/boost modes for most of the ride!
How many miles you getting out of a full battery to zero. I can burn my Heckler SMX with a Darfon 720wh battery out on trail setting on Project 2 mode from my Shimano EP8 motor. In under 30 miles. Ok I’m 107kg’s. So just curious how many miles you’re getting out of a full charge. Cheers for any updates. Had a shot of one today in a large, but with being 6’1” felt I would need a X-LARGE compared to my Heckler in Large.
With the 600wh battery i normally get abt 25-30km ride in using a mix of trail and turbo modes! There's not that much elevation here tho (south of england) so keep that in mind. And yes they do definitely feel slightly more cramped than other brands, nothing crazy tho imo
@ cheers Will. I’m up in Fife, though the area isn’t the best of terrain in this part of the county. Need to go further afield to get the better terrain for biking round this part. I would need a higher wattage of battery. Cheers.
definitely think it would! And from what he's said to me i think he's liking his as a mullet yes, i don't see there being any major disadvantages to it
That's a tricky question... i'm 50/50 about it... would be adding around 250g-300g which doesn't seem too bad, so i probably would opt for the 38 yes... but i still think the 36 is very capable and most people probably wouldn't notice too much difference between them (i barely do lol), especially if they are only trail riding. But if you're doing alpine trips, bikepark riding etc then the 38 would be a better option of course
@@willgreenfield I knew about Forbidden's DJI bike, but have never heard of Unno. But I think Forbidden is limited to just the 600 wH battery. Maybe that'll change when they release it.

Brilliant Review Will!👏 When you look at the Amflow logo it looks like NMFLOW which would have been a better name ( Neuton metre flow) as it has different power ranges!
