In my opinion, the "plank" is just an accessory that is included within the whole package, you could use or ignore it as your wish. And, if you have a chance looking at the instruction in the final release of Chigurh, the "plank" is actually utilized in all 3 mode. It serves as a flying stand in the jet mode.
Name: Astrotrain. Faction: Decepticon. Function: military transport. Alt modes: train, space shuttle, and robot. Subgroup: Triplechangers. Motto:” In confusion there is opportunity.”
I'm glad to finally see clearly how he looks without the optional neck and back plate. As an add-on part for appearances only I have no issue with it, but will probably leave it in the box. The open back of the train mode isn't particularly offensive, especially considering an open rear cab is far more common on the rear of steam locomotives than tech-covered plates with faux wheels sticking out of them :)
Great review. I'm not sold on this guy because I much prefer the modern white/purple deco that he's had since CHUG and IDW. Seems like a pretty great figure though aside from that!
haha Vangelus your reviews are highly entertaining, im still not sure about Chigurh but if i don't get him there is rumor of a third Astrotrain by FansProject, and i wish Devilstar was G1 acc colors and a little taller i wouldn't hesitate to get him haha, anyway great review as always.
That transformation is the most clusterfuckest I've seen for a while. Even thought Vangelus did his best to narrate it and I saw it with my own eyes, I still had a hard time to get all of what was happening. Just so much of moving little plastic parts...
He looks good in all mode and i think the size he is relates to the g1 series because in the cartoon he was pritty tall but he is my favourite triple changer so I love the way it look ls.
For some reason I can't get the plank on for Robot Mode, I followed your Transformation Demonstration and emgo316 and for some reason it won't attach have I done something wrong or is there a trick to getting it on
PLEASE HELP!!! I bought this when it first came out and assumed The joints were just loose on the hips. You put a comment in your video that says easily fixable... HOW? Mine doesn't even look like other reviews. There's NO yellow on the wings or gun. Everyplace that's yellow is silver. I just don't want him falling over when I look at it...
Could you please stop saying pre-production sample so many times in your videos? I get that you are trying to let people know about it while being funny but I personally think it's fairly annoying, and you only really need to say it once or twice per video tops.
It's a Plane, It's a Train... no, It's Yougurh!!! Use the Schwartz!!!
"I see your schwartz is as big as mine! But how well can you handle it?"

It's good to see that Chigurh passes the Tetrajet test with flying colors. The Plank doesn't seem to excel in that area as well, but oh well.
This is probably the video that got me real hangry for an Astrotrain in my life. I can’t believe a real one finally exists.

"Hopefully this is addressed in the final version!" - nope. Awesome figure, just got it tonight - but that cockpit is still a bit mushy.
No Cybertron for Old Men.
The cranial pitch axis is now known as "toggle?" Guess I missed that memo.
someone should make an astrotrain that has a big train mode and an even bigger spaceship mode
Great review. I'm not sold on this guy because I much prefer the modern white/purple deco that he's had since CHUG and IDW. Seems like a pretty great figure though aside from that!
can i use your videos for a top 5 list?

Is clusterfuckest even a word?
+Micah Hoffman it should be
agreed
I'm totally going to cosplay as "The Plank" at the next Botcon.
He looks good in all mode and i think the size he is relates to the g1 series because in the cartoon he was pritty tall but he is my favourite triple changer so I love the way it look ls.
The plank is a stand in shuttle mode, not that matters now lol.
What up, my Chigurhs.
i'd love him as a leader figure. he was tall anyways

Day bow bow... ooohh... chig... chigurh chigurh...
If only I were a toy engineer, then I could probably make a toy that doesn't need that plank.
This Astrotrain is awesome
omg that transformation is n'sane
Think i'll wait til Hasbro comes out with an Astrotrain, hopefully this year.
The plank is a flight stand in shuttle mode
Accept the idea? I was down with it the moment I got a classics one (before I knew about the Armada one)
This is parts compression at its finest.
FAREWELL, TINY THRUSTERS!
*Finnish news man.* Are you going to review ToyWorld's Devilstar?
He meant for robot mode looks not vehicle mode looks
How the Hell you got your hands on a preproduction figure!?!?
fancy cell
I would put him in with the classic figures...
For some reason I can't get the plank on for Robot Mode, I followed your Transformation Demonstration and emgo316 and for some reason it won't attach have I done something wrong or is there a trick to getting it on
Can I use some of your videos for a top 7 list
Are you going to review Evila Star?
This figure is worth any cost, simply due to the die-cast grundle.
I'm not a fan of how the pelvic armour makes his torso look crazy long.

E
Neat.
sorry that looks nothing like a j class or a gs4 locomotive... lol the wheel arrangement isn't even the same... Cool looking toy tho.
To me, he looks more like somebody from the IDW TF-verse than a neo-Classics or Masterpiece toy.
What is that transformer at 7:47? I really like the design!
The orignal version is classics Mirage. The one that's in the video is Movie Fracture.
Plank attaches to the gun for a flight stand in shuttle mode cool review next time just throw it harder and smash it lol
Does his rifle look like Code's?
purple ressha
10:34 Really, Subtitles? You have nothing to say about Vangelus scratching Chigurh's robo-nuts? Nothing? I'm disappointed in you.
Can you ever NOT recommend a figure?
Astronopolis yes.
Theory it's a mp of classics astrotrain........ No ok I'll go
Do you know why he is named like that?
Gustavo Barrios chiguhr chiguhr chiguhr chiguhr choo choo

We're not asking you to do this right away, just think about it and eventually cave in.

Split peg wheels? On an unofficial transformer? C'mon now...
