Just finished Cyberverse this month and I loved the show. Astrotrain was definitely the best character and I’m hoping to see him as a leader scale just like this. Overall still fantastic man.
How did you find the last season? I watched the other seasons but couldn't find the last.
It's on prime video and RUclips now I believe.

I've always considered getting some 3rd party Astrotrain to fit in my Decepticon ranks. Transportation Captain specifically.

If I never bought Siege Astrotrain, DX9 would be the way to go. I seriously love the train mode for this guy Beats Siege Astro out of the water.
To be fair, this Astrotrain is like 4 times expensive. So yeah it's gonna be better in most areas.
The steam engine mode looks nice, but I think the blinkers on the smoke box should be bigger than how it is.

I bought this guy when he originally came out, and I loved him. I have absolutely no idea where he went. I know he's around here somewhere but I feel like I've looked everywhere. I hope I can find him soon.
I just got FT Thomas and I love him after some TLC as he had couple loose joints and tabs that didn’t tab in tight enough.
I think it's an unpopular opinion, but, to this day, I think the best official Astrotrain figure is the classics one. It's very successful in both train and shuttle mode (even if you can see the train's cockpit halves on the sides, which are well camouflaged in the classics deco, in my opinion), it has a good looking bot mode that definitely looks like Astrotrain, it does perfectly what classics figures were meant to do (be an update of the original toy both in engineering and the alt modes), and it still doesn't cost a kidney to get ahold of it.
Also, there's people giving Cyberverse sh*t judging it from the first season? It was good! My guess is that those people are judging it just from those short previews they released back then.
Astrotrain definitely has the leeway to be significantly larger than other bots. Cyberverse has convinced me that it's quite in-character for him to have size to back up his actions. It would require a lot of suspension of disbelief to assume a Siege-sized Astrotrain would be able to do what Cyberverse Astrotrain did.
Personally, I prefer the WfC one; the proportion of this one are really uncanny to me... love the face, though.
Cyberverse was awesome (but you're right, 1st season was MEH).

Right? Hey. Read my comment above. Gotta good siege Astrotrain going up for sale sometime. Of course, I've never sold online nationally before, so there's that to figure out lol, but mines a good one.
I hope you got a good deal! I paid the $150 for this 6 years ago and that was very expensive. Ended up selling my copy cause the hollow arms and loose legs were terrible looking plus the die cast I was afraid would make the legs worse over time. And I agree with your CHUG scaling. There was always something about this figure that didn’t feel like a MP even though it fits with the general scale used by MP collectors.
Astrotrain is one of my favorite characters cause he turns into a train. I might get this figure
got this since release. gotta say he's still solid. and its true that he really does fit better with CHUG scale.
if I have anything to complain maybe the hips don't hold the legs when you do high kicks since theres so much diecast in those legs though Im also waiting for a restock of Gewalt as it includes a hip replacement that they say fixes it.
I'm still shocked that no one has done an upscaled Siege Astrotrain, at least as far as I've looked
Maybe DX9 can fit more with an old CHUG collection, but for most recent CHUG stuff I really feel Siege Astrotrain looks a lot better, at least in robot mode. DX9 debatably has better alt modes but Siege is a much less kibbly and much better proportioned robot
As an owner of gewalt I freaking love him. He’s an awesome figure and looks really awesome.

This figure is dope! You are correct that he doesnt fit in with the cartoony plain current MPs, but he does with the early ones! I have him properly displayed with Gerwalt, Provider, Carry, Constructor, Hanzo, Power Baser, Arche Enemy, Purple Potato, TW Coneheads, and Exhaust. Fits in perfect to me! 👍🏾

This is my stand in for my chugg line siege/earthrise/kingdom/ legacy 😏 it works Astro-train being the big guy.. especially in the one episode where he nearly wiggs starscream for starting 🤣
I was actually considering this figure just because of the shuttle mode, i really like this one. Robot and train mode, fanstoys baby, but the spaceship i like this one.
I have been trying to get DX9 Gewalt because I really love the look of the figure, I will try and update it once I get the figure

That purple looks great. It looks like L.A. Laker purple. I got Seige Astrotrain at Ross for like $24 so I'm content.
I dont know if it was said but if you ever do want a g1 accurate and masterpiece scale, I'd recommend Fans Toys Thomas. He looks really good and accurate in all modes

Cyberverse was a confessed kids show that was willing to be serious for the sake of getting across what it wanted to say
Prime is a kids show that tries to present the appearance of maturity while telling stories that are often times no deeper than any other show in the franchise

The I lost the leg panels (the one's that cover the gaping hole on his legs) and one of the back fins (don't know what they're called on aerial vehicles) on my TR Astrotrain :(

This looks really cool except for one thing, the train mode doesn't have a funnel. And as a huge steam train nerd that annoys me a little
Too bad man, the shuttle mode on mine is fine, you just got the bad end of the stick.
It happens though, hey at least the train and robot modes work though.
My copy is fine but that's what happens with 3rd party. Sometimes the QC is not all there.

I'm a chug exclusive collector. Well goody. I started recently collecting, in the past year. So, I'm running into having to go back and pay scalper prices for the guys I missed out on in the wfc and ss86 lines. I recently bought siege Astrotrain, with the obligatory matrix workshop shuttle piece of course. I paid precisely $15 less for that guy, than this guy costs. I didn't go for this one, because of how difficult it is to get rid of those nasty assed little bugs lol. For real, I thought he was much larger than he is. I am of the mind that he should be taller than prime and megs, but not exactly TOWER over them. Ya know, kinda exactly how this guy is, EXACTLY how he is. What sucks is now I've gotta justify buying him, by selling my siege one. Anybody want siege Astrotrain with the shuttle upgrade, and the bot goop giz removed? It's actually the most successfully I've been able to remove that crap on a figure so far. Came right off, and it's all fat enough away from other paint apps, that I didn't do any damage to any other paint. Anyway, thanks bud, thanks for making this 19 hours ago, a cool 32/33 days after I bought the other one with 30 day returns lol.
me personally prefer the wfc just cuz im kinda a g1 purist and more used to the triple changer being shorter than megatron

I prefer FancyCell toys Transportation Captain myself. And yeah, I always thought Astrotrain was a "bigger bot".

I actually think the robot mode is the weakest. The alt modes look fantastic.
DX9 Blitzwing looks more cartoon compared to this. At least from what I remember. I don't own the figure. I feel like Fanstoys Thomas goes better with that Blitzwing.

To each his own but I cannot understand the appeal of the takara train bots. They’re far more expensive and far less high quality looking than the moon studios. Kibble everywhere and they’re gonna add up to almost an 1000$ combiner that’s just nuts to me. If you like it more power to you tho I hope you love them and I’ll be interested to see your review.

Siege astrotrain is way too small to the point that they included parts to make him taller but even with those parts attached he's still too small and short

I don’t judge the worth of a show by the kill count obviously, I just figured cyberverse wouldn’t be the kinda show to kill too many characters so it’s genuinely shocking to hear. I mean I did watch up to the point where starscream killed all the other seekers (and dropped it cuz I was salty about Thundercracker dying) but like those were the seekers who were barely characters at that point. And the only other kill at that point in the show was Blurr iirc but he died in the episode he was introduced so it also felt more like an outlier than the norm. But damn
the robot mode is the only part I hate, hes too lanky
I just got the DX9 Megatron and I highly recommend it. Super solid figure. Does everything right that I didn't like about the Maketoys one
I have the maketoys one and it hasn't withstood the test of time. The dx9 one I really wanna get to replace it

It’s hard for me to watch cyberverse because of lug… I mean clobber and lockdown it just makes me so mad how they were depicted in the series and it ruins it for me. Yes is it dumb that just two minor characters ruin it for me probably but lugnut and lockdown were my favorite animated characters and animated is the series that I grew up with so it baffles me how one of the writers also grew up with animated and did that. I just can’t watch it because of those two characters.

Chug is an acronym for "Classics, Henkai, Universe, Generations". Basically the main names generations has been called over the years.

Leader Astrotrain is really, really good. Incredible bot sculpt. Great train, good shuttle. And it comes with the tinderbox that holds all his weapons AND turns into a launch bay for the shuttle. If you pair him with legends figures, you'd get that size difference that you're looking for.
