Despite the names obviously being just a bunch of racist jokes, KTVU, which has since apologized for the report, says in a statement given to Gawker-and read on the air-that an NTSB official confirmed the names to them earlier today.

The NTSB confirmed the names for the station. This was not some random reefer calling into the station.
The station didn’t actually do anything wrong. Someone at the National Transportation and Safety Board trolled them.

I like how “Bang Ding Ow” suggests that the crash barely scathed the pilots. Imagine them coming out of the rubble being like “Ow that shit hurt…” lmao.
But the pilots WERE barely scathed seeing as the entire plane survived the initial crash.... The only fatality was during the response when the victim was hit by a fire truck.
Only 3 people seated near the back died. Of those three, two died because they weren't wearing seatbelts, so they were thrown out of the plane after it split open. One of the people thrown out actually survived hitting the runway, but was killed by a firetruck driving to save them.

My friend Im Gun-Di was on this flight. My thoughts and prayers are with all the victims of this tragedy.
Apparently Captain Sum Ting Wong was a very paranoid character, Ho Lee Fuk was very easily alarmed and Bang Ding Ow was about as accident prone as they come, all of which contributed towards the crash. A good friend of Mr Wong, Suk Hung-Yung Dong, suspects that Mr Ow stubbed his toe causing Mr Fuk to yelp erratically which triggered Mr Wong's paranoia and negativity. Mr Lo would also have been of no assistance as he couldn't see over the controls.
Maybe if they got liquids of Sum Yung Guy, they would've felt healthier

My friend had a "Ho Lee Chit" shirt, and we were on an elevator, and an Asian family walked on.. my friend just crossed his arms and sat there awkwardly, but we knew the father had already seen and read it 😂
I went to an all you can eat sushi place with a group of friends to celebrate the birthday of one of them and really fucked up at the end of the night.
We all lined up to hand in our tickets to pay our bills and the guy behind me asked "Why don't they bring us the bill here?" I turned around and without thinking said "Because it's not in their nature to drop the bomb like that."

I remember watching this live and just dying laughing. My wife in the other room was really confused that I was laughing at a plane crash.
This is probably the most laughed about tragedy and nobody seem to give a fuk ;p

Apparently an intern at the NTSB received the call. Chances are, they thought it was a prank and responded in a sarcastic manner that was not received by the news staff and went with it. So in the end, the news station was pranked and didn't know it, they called the NTSB and got an intern that viewed it as a prank and decided to have some fun and confirmed the names.
