There is an indepth commentary (in my video "Doom mappers should play TM2 Valley") on which is the best trackmania for casuals and veterans. But in short Valley is the best modern release, Nations Forever is pretty solid and is free. So yeah. I've replied to your original post concerning the freezing issue.
