- Howdy, in this video I talk about some characteristics of what make a pearl snap shirt and how to wear them. A lot of yall out there most likely know everything you'd need to know about pearlsnaps but this video is for those people who either never heard of them or have heard them mentioned in passing by and want to know more. Let me know if yall like wearing pearlsnaps down in the comments below.
You can get some Tecovas pearl snap shirts similar to the ones I have in this video here:

Im a big fan of pearl snaps myself. I also prefer long sleeves too. Mine are mostly wrangler shirts.
Hey Adam good seeing you on here!
Do you even compete Adam.??
You seem like a person I would enjoy having a beer with ,lol
As long as he's buying.
One thing I've found when it comes to western shirts, at least the ones you can find on the european market, is that they tend to be a bit short for tucking in. As soon as you raise your arms above shoulder height up and out of your pants it goes.
But if you don't tuck them in they're a perfect lenght.
I mean, you could go up a size for sure, but then they tend to be slightly to big.
yeah I agree, I have some pearlsnaps that are made longer for tucking in but the majority that I have come untucked when I sit down often enough.
@@smackdadious The most badass thing about tucking the shirt in is that you show off a sweet buckle. It's almost worth it.
It’s less comfortable but shirt stays are an option
@@jn-ti6oj yeah i have some straps that clamp on to my socks and the bottom of my shirt, i tried them once and did not like them. But that was back when i had a smaller gut haha. If it is a necessity, they will do in a pinch
Like the shirts a hell of a lot. Also, I think the unbuttoned and untucked is a wonderful shirt for conceal carry! Great video!
Like your videos. I'm very interested in changing up my wardrobe a bit and adding some Western style.
I wear pearl snap shirts everyday. Also love the content.
I'm wearing a medium weight flannel western style shirt right now. It's a dark red and grey plaid. The snaps look like tigers eye. I usually wear mine untucked if I want to look more casual. Flannel is not so hard to get in Pennsylvania for the cooler weather.
I didn't know there was a door behind you. I don't care about it, or all the junk. Boots 'n' western wear. That's why I subscribed.
Most of mine are Lee and Levi's and plaid-style. They're really hard to find new in the U.K. I can't recall how I came to wear them or make them part of my style. Yes there's the obvious Western film influence and I have a love for country music, but I think I really took to them when I saw Austin director Richard Linklater wear them in press junket after press junket.
Similarly on the more alternative music side of things, Jim Adkins of Arizona band Jimmy Eat World rocks them often . Usually a dark or dark pinstripe - which looks great. Yet to find one of those though. Anyone seen ones like that before?
Thanks for the explanation, listening to a country song brought me here !
I mostly prefer snap shirts over regular button-up shirts. If I do wear an actual button-up, I'm really picky about what they look like or feel like, probably due to possible koumpounophobia that I've had since childhood. I don't like polos or henleys either, so I stick to what makes me feel most comfortable. Also kinda weird too because I don't like wearing shirts with buttoned collars or on the shoulders. One other thing that I don't get or like is when you see a snap shirt you're possibly interested in, only to find the top button is an actual button instead of a snap like the rest are. It's really hard to find shirts that have just all snaps. I know it's a weird "phobia" to have, but I'm glad I at least forced myself a bit out of my comfort zone to get and wear collared shirts of any sort when I've always been more of a t-shirt or hoodie kind of guy. I'm glad I bought the ones I do have when I did since that kind of shirt that fits my preferences can be really hard to find. Figured that since most guys wear collared shirts regularly, it's good to "fit in" but do so in a way that doesn't totally compromise on your style or comfort level. Been finding it fun even just to wear one over a t-shirt and enjoy the breezy feeling.
Nice video. You should make one abt outfits dressing up in cowboy boots
I have a video talking about how to dress for different occasions with cowboy boots
Pearl snaps are a must. I need to find more
I usually have all my snaps up but the collar one
Good video - people need to the know
Thanks bro! When you decide to start your RUclips channel let me know man!
Thanks! I encountered the word "pearl-snap" in a book (English is not my first language) and couldn't figure out what it was.
@0:03 I understood that reference
I wear pearl snap button shirts for work everyday..not for style but functional reasons!
You wear your style very well man. Should give more thought to the fashion industry
I need that short sleeve shirt immediately
Great video... btw what cross neckless do you have? Looks great, good size.
idk, it was a gift from my girlfriend
@@smackdadious What exact shirt you wearing in the video?
The “cheap bourbon whiskey” line in the beginning HAD to be a nod to Jason Boland…. RIGHT?!
Yessir
Hello. I’m hoping you can assist me with this wrangler pearl snap I found. The snap is on the left hand side, but it’s almost tapered at the rib cage. I’m assuming it’s a man’s. Please help. Is there a way to send you pictures of this shirt.
Try the Ole Smokey whiskey. It's pretty tasty.
Love the pearl snap shirts easy to blow off after a fun night at the bar with the ladies 😉
Nice shirts nice bar
I personally love to wear snap button shirt. I have almost 3 different pairs of shirt where most of the time i skip two shirt buttons. Appearently i am slim with no chest hair thus love to skip two shirt buttons.
I put on some weight since you know the thing. If I button my shirts there a little tight now so what I like to do it take the shirt tells in front and tie them together, not to tight and let's in a breeze without flapping about.👍🤠🇺🇸🦅
What color shirt would look best with dark jeans + cognac/dark orange boots?
A lot would look good. Tan, blue, red. I would try on a couple of shirts to see what youd like better
9 out of 10 welders approve of this video....
Love the Balcones…
Nice video. Thanks. I've recently got some distressed belts and nice western belt buckles. Now I want to show them off (at least the belt buckle). I tried the t-shirt partial tucked-in look which is better than the tucked-in t-shirt look but not quite happy with it. I'm thinking of getting some western pearl snap short-sleeve shirts. But I wasn't sure how it will look tucked-in (maybe too nerdy?) until I saw your video. Do people who wear western snap shirts typically wear them tucked or untucked?
Glad I could help. It depends. Ive seen it worn both ways. If i have mine snapped I have it tucked. If it is open, I have it untucked. If you dont want to look "nerdy" dont button/snap the first two or three snaps.
@@smackdadious I usually don't button the first two buttons if I wear shirt untucked. But that is an excellent tip. I looked in the mirror wearing untucked with first 2 buttons open and I totally agree with you.
One long island please
Well I learned something new today cuz I hear this talk about Pearl snaps and that was like what the hell is that it's a damn snap down shirt instead of a button down well hell I don't like three of them I don't ever wear the damn things cuz I like my t-shirts and I'm in my uniform shirt 5 out of 7 days a week I kind of wish my uniform shirts were Pearl snap though make me look all fancy and s***
Yiu got some brands except for wrangler for pearl snaps you can reccomend, that are usually under 60$? I hve one from gibson, one from wrangler and one from jack and jones which is an european brand
Ely cattleman has some good pearlsnap at a decent price. Rafter c, and panhandle have some good options as well
@@smackdadious thanks. Already have been looking out for some panhandles and ely cattleman. Didn't know about rafter c though, thanks.
Have you tried looking for Lee and Levi's? They tend to cater to the Euro market
It's so weird that so many tuck in their shirts. Why? I get in some situations where u don't want to get your shirt caught in machinery, but I've never tucked in. I like to feel comfortable. I think people do it because they see everyone else doing it like it's a dress code. Lol. It's not. Maybe just to show off a belt buckle to make others think they're more legit because they see the belt buckle. Who knows.
Its a nice look.
Why do people tuck in button downs. Why do people comb their hair. Its more professional.
To me it feels just as comfortable to have my shirt tucked in than not.
One problem is its a bit hard to conceal carry with a shirt tucked in lol
,,,luv pearl snaps.
what brand of shirts are those?
the first two you were holding up, or rather long sleeve one your wearing and showing off? you should do a review
@@Outcastr1 they are Tecovas. I might do that in the future
Do you wear long sleeves all year
Yes sir, I like to wear a t shirt under my longsleeves too. when it gets really hot sometimes I skip the pearlsnap and just wear the tshirt
🔥
You call Jim Beam cheap? Shiiit. You must not look at the real bottom shelf stuff. I hear Henry McKenna isn't too bad though. I'll have to see for myself.
Oh i know there are cheaper stuff but jim beam is a cheap bourbon. It aint bad but iv definitely had better. I always make sure i at least have one bottle of jack and jim
@@smackdadious The Jack Daniel's Apple is pretty good but damn at $35 a bottle gotta savor that stuff for special occasions.
@@jerichosamurai i tried that once and wanst a fan, i got a couple of bottles that are for special occasions, one that was like 80 bucks for a 5th, it helps that it burns so much so I dont want to drink it much haha
@@smackdadious sounds like the tequila shots at awful arthur's idk what it was but it felt like I swallowed fire.
Go vintage or go home. Haha
