Mind blowing. I remember around 5 years ago, in the French Alps, taking an old train back to my hometown in the french riviera. Phone battery's dead, just had my old 2006 Ipod in the pocket. And that band, Bonobo, that I never went further than Kiara's Prelude. So I put Black Sands album on. I had this intense immersive experience as the mountains and deep shiny forest were passing by. The sounds touched me so much that I found myself crying among the profound landscapes. 5 hours of travel, felt like a blink of an eye. One of the greatest moment I've ever got the chance to experience.
Sameeee. But, Vietnam. On a sleeper bus, watching the greenery go by, contemplating life, appreciating where I was, taking it ALL in. Forever that album will be my ultimate nostalgia.

From then on I just remember me floating and smiling, loving any atoms that was crossing that room. That wasn't a concert, was an experience. And you, young generation, that spend the whole concert filming, sending, sharing you will never know that feeling. There is no battery, no memory card that can record the amount of information and emotions that gather inside me that day and that after 10 years still so vivid and intense that no even your iphone 12plus with Oculus 3d will ever been able to archive.

Absolutely agree with you. Time ago I heard a theme from this guys and in the actually gray scenery they shined in my mind as Portishead or the first Massive Attack, Tricky may be, did so many years ago. Now they are a must in my playlists

I prefer black sands. Love 90% of its songs. On the other albums its more like 30-40%which is already above average of all albums that i ever listen to. But black sands is probaly my livetime favourite. Those strings kicking in at Ten Tigers is the most magical thing to me. I love Simon's look and smile of appreciation. I met him in Amsterdam once after a gig at Paradiso. He was doing a freestyle dj-set at Boom Chicago right after and he was standing outside, talking to the bouncer for a bit when my friend and I walked in, because we didn't want to miss it and dance right up front. We chatted to him for a while and he thanked us for coming to the show and was just so appreciative. Honestly, such a cool and down to earth, humble guy and amazing musician. Will never forget this.
I can't possibly imagine how hard it is for him to pick just twenty tracks from all the insanely good music he creates; but I truly believe there must be a way to fit "Walk in the sky" - a timeless, seriously underestimated, out-of-this world song, into a live act.

I can't imagine how cool is must be to have first learned how to make beats, make a basic song after countless hours of practice, make a better song, then get to a point where you are performing in front of hundreds if not thousands of people who love it. Now this is a life full of color.
It doesnt surprise me that a musical genius like Bonobo was able to find such an amazing and appropriate vocalist to add that edge to some of his tracks, but I am still blown away by how amazing Szjerdene sounds live and on record.
