I saw Bonobo live in Edinburgh last year. He played Bambro Koyo Ganda and even one of the security guards started dancing! I'd been a fan for over 10 years by that point, I genuinely felt emotional seeing him. Phenomenal set. Currently on a Boiler Room binge.

I was the resident DJ of a club for 15 years, 3 nights a week & every year i would observe the new younger crowd & every year we noticed they seemed more & more conscious of the phone cams & less likely to really let go and get into the music.
It’s obviously more multi faceted then just phones but people did seemed to be more in the now before they had there status updates to think about etc. It’s great when it does still go off though, lots of great party’s & party people out there for sure. I actually feel asleep during this and woke up at the end. Yawn man. I warmed up for Bonobo once & he came on and played Hip Hop, Beats, Funk, Afro Beats, Reggae vibes & Drum & Bass. Was Dope!
PS Every one should check the documentary (If they haven't already) about the Paradise Garage,currently on the boiler room TV's website. It's called Maestro. Is defo Dope.
I've been in the live music scene for the last 10 years, and I have to say that, in that time, the types of people that have become involved with the different types of music that have taken hold has become more and more diverse. Sure, a large majority of people in developed countries use their phones a lot, but, at least from my experience, people have learned to express themselves even more in the last few years. Especially the people who come to these kinds of events, are really immersed in the music, and the people that I've met are really concerned with the feelings and the emotions that they can experience at these shows. They might take a video or two, but they definitely are not 'less likely to really let go and get into the music.' If that's what you are experiencing, you are at the wrong clubs my friend :)
Way too many phones. People fuck about with them instead of paying attention to the music. Besides of that, there are moments when crowd is too close to the DJ. I know, is the Boiler Room, but still, man needs some room to work and entertain. Watching him from a distance of less than one foot doesn't make it easier, as well as it doesn't allow anybody to dance or even move freely.
Bonobo is phenomenal... I always wondered how his DJ sets are so fluid. .. dig the energy of the crowd and how close you can get to one of your favorite djs
Funny how PLUR is the motto of electronic music scene, but so many people here are criticizing the crowd because they don't look like the right people for the music. I'm 45 and have been going to raves since the early 90s and still love electronic music. I probably look more like these people but looks don't mean a goddamn thing.

Lots of hate on this artist on this particular video so I thought I'd throw in my two cents. You may disrespect Bonobo but how many of you people are djing in front of this many people? And how many of you have been nominated for a Grammy? The man must be doing something right! So what if you online folks can find every little mistake in his mixing skills? If you're so great on the decks, where's your boiler room set? This man has toiled endlessly for years to hone his skills and creative being so that he can make great music and its not fair for everyone to shit all over him cause he made one "mistake" in an entire hour set. He is human like any one of us. With all this said, if you still disagree and think he is shit.. well.. you don't have to listen! Go listen to one of your "better" artists and leave the hate in the trash where it belongs. Peace and love guys, music brings the people together.
Saw him in ATL in November of 2021. I danced so hard and so long that I fucked my knee up and ended up in a brace and had to take 2 weeks off work. Moral of the story, go see Bonobo!

To be fair, this crowd is dancing way more than most Boiler Room's. If you wanna see a dead crowd, check out Thom Yorke's Boiler Room set. At one point he literally looks at the crowd and shakes his head (and it was an incredible set)
i've gone to boiler rooms and they encourage you to chill and really focus on the music. they kick you out if you start bumping around and stuff. only good boiler room i went to was in nyc where they request that you turn tf up but those are mostly hip hop/trap sets

diky moc. Toho borce sleduji jiz od roku 2002, kdy na labelu Ninja Nunes vydal svou prvni skladbu a stal jsem v Moskve pred jeho vyprodanym koncertem s napisem KUPLJU BILJET :). Je to zkratka naprosty borec a zatim stale neobjeveny diamant v hudbe. Byt tedy jeho posledni album Migration povazuji za zatim jednoznacne nejslabsi. I saw Bonobo live in Edinburgh last year. He played Bambro Koyo Ganda and even one of the security guards started dancing! I'd been a fan for over 10 years by that point, I genuinely felt emotional seeing him. Phenomenal set. Currently on a Boiler Room binge.

I was the resident DJ of a club for 15 years, 3 nights a week & every year i would observe the new younger crowd & every year we noticed they seemed more & more conscious of the phone cams & less likely to really let go and get into the music.

It’s obviously more multi faceted then just phones but people did seemed to be more in the now before they had there status updates to think about etc. It’s great when it does still go off though, lots of great party’s & party people out there for sure. I actually feel asleep during this and woke up at the end. Yawn man. I warmed up for Bonobo once & he came on and played Hip Hop, Beats, Funk, Afro Beats, Reggae vibes & Drum & Bass. Was Dope!

I've been in the live music scene for the last 10 years, and I have to say that, in that time, the types of people that have become involved with the different types of music that have taken hold has become more and more diverse. Sure, a large majority of people in developed countries use their phones a lot, but, at least from my experience, people have learned to express themselves even more in the last few years. Especially the people who come to these kinds of events, are really immersed in the music, and the people that I've met are really concerned with the feelings and the emotions that they can experience at these shows. They might take a video or two, but they definitely are not 'less likely to really let go and get into the music.' If that's what you are experiencing, you are at the wrong clubs my friend :)

Way too many phones. People fuck about with them instead of paying attention to the music. Besides of that, there are moments when crowd is too close to the DJ. I know, is the Boiler Room, but still, man needs some room to work and entertain. Watching him from a distance of less than one foot doesn't make it easier, as well as it doesn't allow anybody to dance or even move freely.
Bonobo is phenomenal... I always wondered how his DJ sets are so fluid. .. dig the energy of the crowd and how close you can get to one of your favorite djs

Lots of hate on this artist on this particular video so I thought I'd throw in my two cents. You may disrespect Bonobo but how many of you people are djing in front of this many people? And how many of you have been nominated for a Grammy? The man must be doing something right! So what if you online folks can find every little mistake in his mixing skills? If you're so great on the decks, where's your boiler room set? This man has toiled endlessly for years to hone his skills and creative being so that he can make great music and its not fair for everyone to shit all over him cause he made one "mistake" in an entire hour set. He is human like any one of us. With all this said, if you still disagree and think he is shit.. well.. you don't have to listen! Go listen to one of your "better" artists and leave the hate in the trash where it belongs. Peace and love guys, music brings the people together.

How come I just found this jewel 3 years later after its release? David Blane is be jelaous of this set, it's pure fucking magic.
To be fair, this crowd is dancing way more than most Boiler Room's. If you wanna see a dead crowd, check out Thom Yorke's Boiler Room set. At one point he literally looks at the crowd and shakes his head (and it was an incredible set)
i've gone to boiler rooms and they encourage you to chill and really focus on the music. they kick you out if you start bumping around and stuff. only good boiler room i went to was in nyc where they request that you turn tf up but those are mostly hip hop/trap sets
