i agree! except i haven't listened to project regeneration bc i'm still kinda skeptical and i have to brace myself to listen to wayne-less static-x. however, about cult of static, there's this thing abt some fans that kinda separate wayne's work before and after tera, so i remember seeing some people talk abt how cult of static sucked bc wayne was so whipped over tera and obsessed (vide stingwray and tera-fied which are two songs in the album named after her) so it took me the longest time to listen to it. then when i finally did... it's an amazing work! it got me so frustrated thinking abt how people can be so bitter and refuse to listen to such a good album bc of wayne's personal affairs (which, in the end, are what gave birth to most of static-x's songs). i found CoS, in a way, so similar to cannibal, pretty much anyone who has listened to one album could enjoy the other just as much. if you, for some reason, have listened to CoS but not yet cannibal, you should give it a go as well. in conclusion: there are so many great songs in these last two static-x records that at this point if you don't appreciate any of them you just have bad taste
@Ali Carrara Project Regeneration is really awesome. There are a bunch of songs that are just Wayne on vocals, and there are some where it's both him and Xer0. The songs that feature only Xer0 are just as good as any other Static,X song, and I'm hoping for mlre with him in the future. You should really give the album a listen, and not look up who is on which song, to really give it a fair shot.
Hi! It's Been a while! So we continue with Static-X this time! Hope you enjoy! Not subbed yet, sorry. As always share, like, comment subscribe if you are new! Thumbs up if you watch the video till the very end, you'll know why if you do! Thanks, JD
Well yes! I kind of agree which is why it is kind of a subtopic hence 5.1 which is related to Industrial metal... then again it is not 100% Industrial... It's hard to pinpoint what they did... I feel like their debut was easier to pinpoint as an Industrial effort... moving forward they tried Nu Metal and Groove metal... well I said that in the video I guess! You should watch episode 5 if you haven't! =) Thanks for the comment! RIP Statics!

Great job man. Love Wisconsin and Machine. I don't mind some of Shadow Zone but it's extremely nu metal vs the industrial groove they once had. After that they really went downhill fast for me.
Shadow Zone and Start a War are the ones I listen to the least; to me they're okay, and more power to anyone who lists them as their favorites, but Static-X is just not the first band I go to when I'm in the mood for that kind of mainstream nu metal sound, personally. I definitely do like how Project Regeneration 1 incorporated elements of it into its tracks though, and made it blend well with that neo-Wisconsin sound they went with.
Hm. Funny you should say that, because this is one of my songs I did not really use elsewhere. But it’s the same track from the beginning. Actually there is my music playing in some of my videos here and there. Thank you for the compliment! I think it works well in this video.
Well in this video it’s probably about 90% of Wikipedia, there probably a paragraph or 2 I wrote this time around. It depends on the video really some scripts are completely written by me if the video calls for it in terms of factual stuff like biography and certain events in the band’s existence are well documented so I see no reason to deviate from that since my personal opinion will not affect the information of what has already happened. In this particular video I honestly did not have the time to write my own material I still have things to say about the band and Wayne but I had to release the video, more often than not I have to put out content that I am not 100% satisfied with because I have to remain consistent with putting out videos. Since I am not a full time youtuber the amount of time I can devote for my channel is rather limited. Even so this was a lot of work to put together. Thanks for the comment

Hm as I recall Drowning pool is not really related to Industrial Metal, that’s still the topic for at least 2 more episodes. Drowning pool I need to look into to see where it really belongs in these series and when is the right time to bring them up. Thanks for the comment
There are not many music journalists or content creators that put Static-X in the Nu-Metal category, but when they do it's just evidence that they don't know what they're talking about and don't know as much about music as they claim. Static-X have labeled their style as evil disco. However if you read interviews where they mention their stylistic influences, it's almost all electronic and industrial-metal. Most people who listen to them call it industrial-metal.
@@saysthemanbehindthemask its gonna be interesting to see where they go from here. I see potential on another level for them. They are refocused with experience on their side .
Hmm, do you find they are related to Industrial metal? I don’t think they are, but actually I don’t know a whole lot about them. But next band is someone else. Coming this week hopefully!
This is an old video. I think the reason for everyone giving similar info is because few choose to dig deep. I myself remember reciting this particular video practically word for word from a wiki page. I don’t really do that anymore. But I did mention Prong in one of my earlier videos when talking about Nu Metal… can’t recall how Prong sounded really. I think I did a better take on static-x when making a video on their latest release. Look it up on my channel if interested
My favorite 3 albums are Shadow Zone. start a war and cannibal especially Shadow Zone an original member should I let the other members of Static-X be part of the tribute album especially Rex tripp
@@saysthemanbehindthemask well the bands that were mentioned (and some others in mind) who was produced by this guy, got a bit soft with their music and people lost interest in them. Or just wither away without people even noticing. That's what I meant by my comment. I'm not gonna say all the bands but most.
Yuh… it’s a tricky one… I’d say their first album wasn’t but the following 2 shared a lot with this sub genre… but obviously it was an element of their sound, not it’s core.
This is so not accurate. Static's first two cds were demos they took to warner bros. And warner Bros liked them enough to make them into major albums with lil editing
Quote from Wayne: "It was really just a whirlwind and I barely remember it. We worked so hard and toured so hard that I don't even remember most of it. We played 300 shows in the first year and we just never went home. We would tour on one tour for six or eight weeks and that tour would end somewhere on the East Coast and we'd drive a couple days and hook up with Slayer and tour with them for four or five weeks. That tour ends and then we'd drive a few days to Boston to hook up with Sevendust. We just kept going and kept going and never went home. I mean I didn't even have a home. I lived at the rehearsal space for the last year before we started touring. I had to quit my job to make the record so I didn't have anywhere to even go home to...I look back at it now and I kinda wish I had taken the time to sit back and appreciate it more. Maybe got to know some of the other bands a little more and spend time and having a good time and partying and maybe taking some pictures of the other guys." This was regarding the WDT days. Second album WAS recorded during the touring for WDT mainly by Wayne himself because the label pressured them which was one of the reasons Fukuda left. I have no clue where you get the fact that the band had an easy pass for a record deal with first 2 albums just ready to go. The 2 albums don’t even sound that much alike to be considered as if they were written at the same time because they don’t sound like they were. FYI nearly every band approaches a record label with a recorded material of some kind usually a demo so it’s not necessary to mention that. Besides if the first album was complete why did the band want to hire Terry Date specifically when the record was green lit by the label? Because the record was not sonically where the band wanted it to be... so the final product was not minor editing of their early material as you say. They couldn’t get Date so hired the next best thing his assistant Ulrich Wild.
Well these series in large are kind of about bands that were clumped up into this category... besides I believe I did mention that they went in and out of Nu Metal... they definitely did not start as Nu Metal but several albums of theirs were definitely influenced by Nu Metal.
RIP Wayne, another victim of fentanyl, the prescription drug that has killed so many artists, with the blessings of the pharmaceutical industry and the us govt that allow those opioid based meds
Why the hell does everyone think that every opiate is fentanyl?!? His autopsy showed oxycodone and hydromorphone, as well as the benzodiazipine xanax. Fent had NOTHING to do with it.
Watch the series from the start bud. That’s basically the point of the series… that plenty of bands got swept under the same umbrella of Nu metal because Nu metal was so big at the time. Some were considered Nu metal just by association. That being said Static-x definitely had Nu metal influence on 2nd and 3 records
Static X never made a bad album. Cult of Static is such a massively underrated album and I LOVED their most recent. Rip Wayne :/
