Good post, I have a 2011 750li f02 with. 127k miles in it with no issues, had it from new, change oil every 3k miles don’t matter what the dealer says, I had some regular issues with the rear suspension, one of my coolant hose crack, injector failure also, that’s about it, I do all my maintenence myself, the engine has some flaws but with proper maintenance it will last, and yes it’s a high maintenance motor, if you’re not mechanically incline I don’t recommend this bmw, cause to pay a mechanic for all these engine maintenance will break you .....the recomened oil is so thin, these engine pushes a lot of heat, so it loose vacosity in the oil real quick, your valve seals gets real hard and brittle with the heat, I normally add a little lucus to my oil to recondition the valve seals every time I change the oil, not much cause the clearance on your rings are very small, that’s why 30-40 weight is recommended, the higher the mileage on your engine the higher weight oil you use, I get ver small amount of smoke in idle you don’t really see, I don’t listen to some of these ppl that say you don’t need to change your oil every 3k miles, oil is too cheap, cheaper than replacing that motor, I think the interval on that specific engine was like every 7k miles, I would drop that oil like twice before it goes in for an oil change...change your oil ppl
D J, this is very valuable information. May I ask what viscosity of oil you're using for the n63. I'm in the California bay area, don't know what viscosity works best here. Thx.

Derek Haywood I drive a white 2009 X635i it’s very reliable, these vehicles are very simple to own if you keep up on maintaining them, if you change your oil very regularly you won’t have any engine problems.
Derek Haywood just put away at least $200 a month for emergency maintenance, and most the time you just end up having a lot of money saved up because the vehicle is so reliable, I have 95k miles, and all I’ve done so far is control arm replacement, the main problems to focus on bmw is oil leak problems, valve cover gasket will leak, oil filter housing gasket will leak, and oil cooler will leak, once those problems are fixed the vehicle will run a very long time problem free, a lot of people are afraid of bmw, and with all honesty I think every man should experience a bmw, the rules are $200 a month for maintenance, change your oil every 3 months, only buy gas from one brand which is the shell gas station, vpower only use shell oil from bmw or shell ultra helix run a combination of both shell, and Your engine will run problem free like it’s a Lexus, my neighbors are always asking me questions how the hell I have such reliability for 4 years that’s because there’s rules on driving a bmw, always address issues right away, check your battery power, because low battery drains the alternator, I only drive my vehicle hard when am on highway, local city driving I go really easy, drain, and refill your coolant after every winter, and you will realize you’re waterpump will last a lot longer am at 95k miles still the same waterpump go above the maintenance requirements, and your bmw will kick a Lexus ass on the road.

My 750li M sport engine is seized up solid my manufactures date is eight of 2013 turn the key just a click I spoke with the service dept At BMW and they said I missed the new engine by two months. This could be the timing jump or a rod. Would you say that It is easier to bring the engine up through the hood or down below. I did see that BMW Was selling N63 for $3700. When I call I get pricing like $10,000 or $7000 only one said $5000 but is it $3700 ?
hello. i had to pull out the n63 650i engine to replace the timing chains. on reassembly to my surprise the engine starts but the idling is unstable. severe engine shake. my accelerator pedal does not respond so it is impossible to apply the accelerator. do you think it comes from the wedging? I have to take the engine out to do this check. Is it normal that the engine does not accelerate if the timing is not precise? I checked all the electronics and everything is OK.
So if you are going to get the 645 or 650 older like 2005-2011 , which years are the best ? I´m looking at low miles car and drive little . Thank you ::: Or should one not be worried at all ?
Gracias.
I have a 2014 750LI 47K miles. When should I replace timing chain or guides? I was thinking I just listen for rattling noise when I do a cold start. Is that the best way or is there a mileage or # of years best practice?
Great info. Thank you. Found a 2013 E70 X5 with what looks to be the updated n63 with only 15,000 miles. Safe bet or hard pass ?
That looks like a great deal.
What is the package it has?

Thank you for this informative video. I'm presently looking to buy my first BMW 2014 -2015 x6 35i, do you have any recommendations on things to look out for?
Divinci360 the x6 35i is good no issues
@@mcgyverb1664 do you drive an x6 and what year?
@@mcgyverb1664 thanks for the advice. I'm torn between a 2013 x6 and a 2013 Alpina B7...any info on the Alpina? Also what's the honest comfort level in the x6?
My 750li M sport engine is seized up solid my manufactures date is eight of 2013 turn the key just a click I spoke with the service dept
At BMW and they said I missed the new engine by two months. This could be the timing jump or a rod.
Would you say that It is easier to bring the engine up through the hood or down below. I did see that BMW
Was selling N63 for $3700.
Late 650i are the best. 2008 - 2011
I actually love the look of the 650i over the 645i.
Or por in X6 50i fully loaded with sports packages
I heard that BMW offers a Care package for n63 engines? Have you heard about that? What will be replaced and if it will solve the most problems of n63?
R CHENXU all Bmw of North America is going to tell you they need to run some test then tell you that the car needs a new engine and you have to pay 11000$ all n63 owners need to come together and do another class action.
Francisco what do you recommend for a solution to a 310B code on the S63 engine out of a 2013 BMW X5M 120k miles.
So pretty much everything that’s very expensive to do goes bad. Got it
Hello, very good video and explanation for bmw. I planned to buy X6 50i(2008) with 200900 km, the chain was replaced at 139 000 km and I can see the exhaust is partly black. The seller in the car house says that the car is good and no mistake but I'm a little suspicious.
I'm looking to buy a 2011 x5 xdrive50i with 103K miles on it. What could I do to try and prevent any issues going forward if I were to purchase?
Hello, i am having problems trying to get mine going. Just rebuilt it and set timing and get constant codes referencing all 4 cams out of limits. I have confirmed timing several times and the kit sits perfectly flat on the heads. Crankshaft tool is aligned and covers the timing mark on the balancer. I bought a rebuilt crankshaft kit with all bearings but didnt compare to my original. Is it possible i have the wrong crankshaft now and will not be able to get timing set? Im at a loss . Thank you. 2011 550i gt n63
Hi Francisco
My 2013 525d BMW have vibrations between 120-130km only, never on lower speed?any suggestions or opinion?

Goran Jovanovski wheel have bump, driveshaft,
I have the same problem.
Do you have any video about N63 2011 driveshaft complete removal ?
Hi Francisco I have a 2009 BMW X6 N63 motor where is my start located have to change it thank you?
I have a 750i with a transmission malfunction reading, any suggestions on being able to fix it on my own?
Do you have a code number or DESCRIPTION?
Francisco Amaya no all it does is read transmission malfunction then it reduces my speed another issue I ran into was my ac not blowing out the vents at all as if there was something wrong with the motor. If you have any suggestions on that as well it would be much appreciated thanks
Maybe the battery could be weak,
The transmission problem the only thing I can tell you to is to replace the transmission filter and fluid, they could be in a bad condition.
The car is running close to 100k so I will try that thank you for the replies. Your videos have helped me a lot in other scenarios
Np, I will make more about BMW'S. Detailed videos.
Hola Francisco,
Saludos desde Canadá. Quiero comprar un 2012 550i con 70,000 millas en $15,000 dólares canadienses. Cuánto cuesta reparar los steam seals? Muchas gracias
Great info man, how can you tell an N63 from the updated N63TU engine?
2013 and up
Black cover
Has vanos on the side of the head in front area
And the emissions sticker on the hood has to say N63Tu family ENGINE.
thanks sir very valuable stuff i’m going to look at a 750 li tomorrow beautiful car man only 113k 2013
Hey Francisco I have 2014 bmw 650xi n63. Said misfire 4 and 5 Changed spark plugs NGK and bought 2 used coils. Same issue

Can u tell where is the MAP sensor on my bmw x6M 2014 I can’t find it pls and thanks
That should be in the air filter area
@@franciscoamayaYT can you tell me what 310b code is and how to fix it?
I am thinking about buying a mint condition 2012 650i m sport 28,000 miles. Do you think it is a bad idea? Please give me some insight i would really appreciate! Thank you in advance. Subscribed.
It is great car, but I will definitely depend on the price.
I actually was going to buy a 2015 650i when I bought my M4 but the manual transmission was the only reason why I bought the M4
@@franciscoamayaYT Price is $28,300 out the door. I went today and checked it out. M4 is awesome. It will be driven 5k miles a year.... thank you very much for the fast reply!
That is a good price for the mileage of the vehicle. Just make sure to get the Carfax with all the service records to know where the video stands. Are you buying from a BMW dealer?
I am thinking to sell my M4 because I want to buy a Porsche but I need to buy a buyer first.
@@franciscoamayaYT i got the carfax. 3 car owner last guy was a rich guy who traded it in to a family owned dealership. Very clean and professional place they had a large inventory. Car has one recall needs to be done and they will take care of that. I will get a bmw pre inspection before i buy. I am really thinking about buying this car it is a dream.
Excellent
Even with the improvements in 2016, it doesn’t seem to be very reliable. I had a 645ci that had the N62 engine and had to have the engine pulled and resealed st 65k miles.
What kind of motor is in my 2013 740LI 3.0 V6?
The 740Li has a 3.0L straight 6 cylinder engine.
@@franciscoamayaYT Thank you, I think that's a N55. Do they all burn oil? I put 5 thousand since I bought it and it was very low. I just added a liter of LiquiMoly SAE5w-40. I had a mechanic look at it and he said that there's no leak.
Usually, they have turbo failure. This causes oil consumption
Francisco Amaya Do you think replacing Turbo would fix that? Or another solution?
Hello I keep get this wining nosy on acceleration I have a 2011 BMW 750li the n63 engine please tell me what is that noise
It almost sound like a power steering pump
What do you think about the x6 2009 3.5 L twin or one turbo?
It is nice, just make sure that it doesn't have any problems with the turbos
would you advice to have the one with only one turbo instead ? thank you :)
Yes, one turbo N55 engines better better.
Thank you :)
Music-A yea the X635i is a much better engine than the X650i
Francisco I’m having a transmission issue with my 2012 750Li can you help?
What is the problem?
Is the N63 engine on a 740Ld or 730Ld 2014? If not, is it same problems as N63?
No, the 740/730ld has a diesel engine
Francisco Amaya thanks for the reply. So this engine N63 is only on the gasoline/ petrol versions?
Hi is this engine with out the turbo in 2008 a good engine ????? Thank you !!
sputnik No, I don’t know 🤷♀️🤔
Nop! Valve seals problem smoke all the time
Thank you master problems 😁
Would a 2015 or 2016 550 be a good used car to buy?
Yes, it could be a CPO for BMW with warranty.
2015 BMW X5 50i - 41,000 miles. Is this the updated engine?
Yes, it is a good engine.
I was going buy 2014 BMW V8 so... I should not get V 8 ?
Brather i have a problem x6 2009 mispyar i already changed plag and cuyl injaktar
i have valvetronic supply voltage issues what could this be? i dont think its the sensor in the engine, has rough idle but i just belive it could be afuse or hte module. any ideas?
Rough idle could be a drivetrain malfunction due to spark plug/coils replacement
Glenn_94 replaces all of mine and the code left is drive train malfunction valvetronic power supply
I keep getting a error that says transmission malfunction. Drive moderately. Any suggestion ?
Do you know what is the trouble code?
So 2016 750i got redesigned engine , are they totally reliable now
Yes, the engine is better and it has more power.
Many of the problematic things were removed and replaced with better ones.
BMW are the worst in history made to break ! cheap plastics everywhere ! V8 smoking issue from 2002 and still till today they didn't fix it ! what a brilliant people !
I'm terrified right now I just bought this car today. I bought a 2012

Try this. It can help
I was quoted $1300 to replace the turbo charger lines on my 2010 750 li. The dealer said it was leaking on to alternator causing vehicle to stall. Any advice ? Thx
The turbo is leaking on the alternator?
Francisco Amaya ya
The alternator is completely separate from the turbo, it is not on top.
What is problem in you BMW?
Francisco Amaya The dealer said the turbo coolant lines are leaking fluid onto the alternator.
Oh! Ok!
In that case you can remove the top cover and replace the coolant line yourself. Usually, the small rubber hoses leak coolant from the clamps section.
SO WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS ON A 2012 BMW 550 XDRIVE . ITS 46K MILES 14K USD CLEAN HISTORY DEALER MAINTENANCE!?
Looks like a good deal.
Do you have any idea where the 550xi boost solenoid is ?
What is the problem with your car?
what cos this engine to run very rich?
Do you have a mechanic shop in Florida
Just buy it if under Warranty for about 1.5 to 2 Years. This means 2012 or newer models. I'm looking at the 2007/2008 BMW 750i with the 4.8 V8 as it's a better engine created after the 4.4 V8 was nothing but Garbage before 2006. Now it looks like the Newer 4.4 V8 Turbos are Bad News too ! Lol
Wow, not just diesel mechanic but gasoline too.

Very observant there buddy..

Yes, that is a better engine.
Hi guys, I am looking to buy my first x5. tested 2 35i's and today a 50i 2011 model with 66000kms(41,000miles) live in Europe now where it seems we don't have nearly the same issues on cars as in the US. My question is if the n63tu could be earlier than 2013, this one has the black covers. I am a diy guy but only worked on a bunch of e46 and e39's never v8's. What would repair bill for valve stem seals be and is it a job you can do yourself. Seems like that is the major concern

Yes, 2016 is a better option.
Good morning
BMW should be forced not to make engines any more. My recommendation is to go Benz or italian.
My 550i consumes 1.5 liters of oil. It is normal
Dariusz Eksterowicz yup they are notorious oil leakers, and drinkers, so you better be doing oil changes every two months if you daily drive it.
Not all oils are created equal.
