The iconic Red Llama Overdrive is back-and more compact than ever!
Beware: this llama can bite. But it also purrs. And screams, if you smack it just right. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of Way Huge, the beloved RL2 Red Llama Overdrive (Way Huge’s first production pedal, introduced in 1992) returns with a vengeance. Sporting a new compact Smalls enclosure, the WM23 conjures all the warm goodness of the original Red Llama Overdrive. It dishes out delicious harmonic overdrive, reminiscent of a crunchy tweed amp, and offers a wide array of tones ranging from soft and cuddly to burly and brutal. Mr. Huge spent months testing modern components to recreate the sound of the 1990s era Red Llama Overdrive, retaining all the touch sensitivity and mojo of the original. Visit his petting zoo with your favorite guitar and plug into the WM23. You might lose a few fingers and toes, but you’ll be glad you did.

What a beautiful sound. This is gonna be sought-after pedal. Pad on the back to whoever pushed this through.
Pad on the back helps me after a long day of construction work
Yes!! Finally! Also I miss these demos! I still watch the older ones regularly
Cleans up like a champ and can go into fight club mode too 👍
That's what I'd call "epic demo".
THE Overdrive
I’ve been waiting for this release. Thanks!
I like it!
So is there a Small Swollen Pickle in the works?
Been available for years.
Sounds great! I wonder what amp was used, it would be good to know just for the reference ;)
Fender Deluxe
"Recorded using an all stock 2018 Fender '68 Custom Deluxe Reverb (22w)" - from the description below the video.
@@gkol69 It was just added, good to know :)
Copy of a Craig Anderson's Tube Sound Fuzz. I built one back in the 70s. EHX Hot Tubes is another one,
Is that Jorge playing?
What'd ya find out hooking it up to the scope?
That overdriven signals on the scope during the actual playing don't look nearly as cool as the clean signal ones they used on the close ups. And a Tek 465 is a great old analog scope...
No way this will sound better than my tape deck.
Really nice playing. I think you'd probably make a crappy pedal into a crappy amp sound really good while playing a crappy guitar.
SMD?
SMD resistors I believe - as he said in an interview his belief was that resistors just provide resistance and don’t contribute to tone like through hole capacitors and inductors can.
90% of the sonic goodness is from the Fender amp
No tone control ? 🙄
Obviously a ripoff of the Helix's Alpaca Rouge 😉
I keep wishing the Helix was actually good
No thanks I’ll keep my originals with the hand stamped serial numbers before the Dunlop buy out, they sound sweeter.
Have you compared actually compared them? What is meant by “sweeter”?
@@shanemaderejr.7675 yes I have, they are great pedals but the tone of my originals sound better.
Sounds more like a distortion pedal And a not Very good one
wow, Jimdunlop really needs to crank up their demo budget. Start with nixing the oscilliscope and hiring somebody that can actually play the guitar.
Lol hater
I know you're miserable and all so you need to feel the need to put others down but what does this accomplish again? You sound insecure about your own playing, to be honest.
Jeez. This video is too cool. Sweet playing as well. Why is there always some sorry idiot who doesn't get it, lol?
This is lovely playing. Go touch grass, pal.
