    How wonderful, my father in law always custom painted our rods, but he was a painter. My wife's a seamstress, she going to love this! Thanks so much for the tutorials. You definitely gained a few more subscribers today! Beautiful work ❣️

    Really Awesome walkthrough Mary! Thanks - gonna have to try this on a scrap blank to practice for sure! Also, appreciate the explanation on "locking the thread down", was struggling to understand that.

      Thank you. I have since changed to using the thread bobbins to keep that line from wavering. I'll have to do a revisit of this and show the changes

      Are you using the original stands that come with the custom power wrap machine?

    • @thedecorativestudio
      @thedecorativestudio  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@gregthompson995 yes I am. This particular cpw is the one before AL engling took it over so it's an original but with a dryer update

    • @gregthompson995
      @gregthompson995 11 месяцев назад

      I thought so, I have an older CPW with the dryer, I switched over to al’s stands and really like them so I got the carriage too. I haven’t had a chance to really get the carriages a good work out yet.

    When you are in the fade switching between colors. They are both 'tag ends' and held just with your hands, right? And the base thread is locked into the thread carriage?

    • @thedecorativestudio
      @thedecorativestudio  11 месяцев назад +1

      Yes basically except when I'm in the middle of doing the fade with the 2 colors, it's in my hand and when I switch colors I lock one down

    • @davidmancini2198
      @davidmancini2198 11 месяцев назад +1

      @thedecorativestudio I noticed that. I was impressed with how tightly you got everything locked down with so few wraps. Life goals right there!! Lol I've got a split grip rod I might try to do this on

    • @thedecorativestudio
      @thedecorativestudio  11 месяцев назад +1

      @@davidmancini2198 good luck with it! Takes practice and patience but well worth it

    • @davidmancini2198
      @davidmancini2198 11 месяцев назад

      @thedecorativestudio I've got the patience part down. I still run my thread through a bunch of books which can make things a bit tricky sometimes. I need to get my hands on a scrap blank to practice.

    Is there any other way of doing this wrap? I tried it and had trouble with the long, loose threads.
