The CE has a shallow version of the Core top carve, with generally a better looking flame top over the S2 line. The S2 has its own carve, which some like better, but generally the maple top is the least flamed of all the models.
How much difference is there in a pickup wound over sea or in America? I haven't played a USA made PRS in decades but I owned an S2 with the "s" pickups in 2020 to 2022.
I would love to swap them in and out of the same guitar but from playing guitars with each back to back they do seem to be voiced slightly different however, being in different guitars makes it hard to know how much. PRS is knocking it out of the park!
Big difference. I just got a CE and an S2 to add to my SE. I didn’t think there would have been a huge difference but there is. SE pickups sound good. The U.S. versions sound great.
@@PaulChoate-s4v I live in Canada & a core is just over $5,000 my S2 that I got in 2020 was about $2650 after taxes. An SE is about $1000 retail, maybe an SE model will be my mid-life crisis guitar? I'll be 45 in January. so maybe in 2026? I had my S2 before the upgrade & though the "S" pickups were great.

Thanks for watching and adding to the conversation
Ce is also a bolt on neck with a core type carve compared to set neck of an s2
That is something we failed to mention. Thanks for bringing it up!

@@tonebros6533 I agree, PRS is running away with their current/new releases!
