Honestly the way you explain everything without judgement and with openness and kindness is so comforting. I haven't been to a dentist in about half a decade but that's going to change on Friday. Your channel is helping me get over my extreme fear of dental procedures and dentists in general! I wish I could go to you, currently in STL, but I know I'll be able to find just as kind of dental hygienists here too. Thank you for your channel, your work to provide this information so readily, and your upbeat kindness through it all.
@@bluesky4385 Luckily I was able to find low income clinics that had an even further sliding scale. And there are a bunch of dental students who do cleanings for free under the supervision of a head dentist with certification. If you're in the states, some states have expanded their Healthcare services like Medicare and medicaid. So more people qualify for these things and can get dental care thru Medicare/medicaid.
Alchohol is better if you have canker sore or infection in your teeth cheeks and tooth ache. It will take away the pain only about 10 minutes before if coem back Non alcoholic sucks
A potential con for alcohol free could be the glycerin that's in most of them. It's theorized that glycerin in mouthwash (and toothpaste) can actually contribute to cavities and gum disease. Glycerin is basically a type of sugar and it leaves a film on your teeth. I've been using glycerin free mouthwash/tooth paste for awhile and my dentist said my teeth looked great, when just a year ago they said i was beginning to develop gingivitis.
Always consult a dentist before buying any mouthwash, only they can tell you which is better depending on the health of your teeth and gums. But dentists usually suggest non-alcoholic mouthwashes more often.
Love these videos! Very informative. As a user of Tobacco, I'm fully aware of the fact that maintaining good oral hygiene is all the more important. I use a great portion of the info that comes out of these videos. Peace ✌, Love ❤, and Teeth!!
Thank you for all the videos...I'm trying out alcohol-free mouthwash and picked up a tongue scraper and flossing picks - hoping to reverse my gingivitis before my next cleaning appointment!
I prefer alcohol-free because the kind with alcohol burns. I have to add water into the cupful of alcohol mouthwash to help with that. I switch mouthwashes daily, though I'm not sure if that's beneficial or not.
I know I'm late. I adore my Dr. Tichenors mouth wash. I just hate the fact I have dry mouth. And they kill off good and bad bacteria from your understanding. Thank you for the review
I am so happy found you here. Your videos are so great for me to understand more how does dentist work. Is it true every mouth wash can give teeth stain and we should not use at all time except two weeks after treatment have done? My dentist from UK do not recommend me to use mouth wash and recommend just to use salt water instead.
I’ve tried with alcohol and without, and so I stick with no alcohol Listerene brand, it works best for me since it really does help with bad breath (no more bad breath for me). The one with alcohol burns a lot and I don’t like that and you’re right it gives me bad breath because of the alcohol drying my mouth. So really experiment with and without and try for yourself folks.
I just mistakenly bought a alcohol mouth wash 😞 I haven’t watched the video yet but my boyfriend told me it’s best to use non-alcohol. So I’m scared of using the one I bought
So probably the best way is antiseptic alcohol mouthwash in the morning so then you will drink water throughout the day and not have a dry mouth, and the fluoride zero-alcohol at night so that your mouth wont be dry over night and the flouride wont be washed away.
Hi Whitney: the last mouthwash I bought I believe was Crest:pro health nonalcoholic as the Mission at that time did not allow alchohol containing mouth washes. I THOGHT THE crest was great: I swished for 2 minutes then spat out in the sink. I THOGHT AT THE TIME CREST PRO HEALTH WAS PRETTY GOOD. WELL YOU KNOW: THE CUTE GIRL ON THE T.V. AD SOLD IT. ADVERTISING IS POWERFUL! THANKS. BYE!
I use listerine mouthwash and it does have alcohol and as a nonalcoholic mouthwash I use hydrogen peroxide it works great after you get used to the taste 👅.
Personally I love coconut oil with mint and tea trea oil mixed in as well, it's natural for the body and my other one is any thera breath wash because it's alkaline and doesn't burn
Hi Whitney, another great video, I've recently changed to non alcoholic mouthwash but find it harder to find. Can I ask a question please. I know your not supposed to brush your teeth straight after brushing but is it ok to use mouthwash straight after eating. Hope your well ❤️😁 . Thankyou.
yessss fluoride mouthwashes are often alcohol free! and swishing with water immediately after eating is fine --- and fluoride mouthwash is generally considered fine as well! but always check what your dentist thinks is best for your individual mouth :)
Hi Whitney, new subscriber here. This is such an informative channel on dental hygiene... Brilliant! With the subject of mouthwash, and as a person who tries to keep things on the natural mother nature vibe. What are your thoughts on a tea tree essential oil and warm water solution as a natural alternative? Thanks for your expert advice in advance, and keep those fun factual videos coming.... Peace, Love, Teeth. ✌❤😁🙏
Tom's of Maine is a good brand of non-alcoholic mouthwash. I use it because it's natural. I didn't really know it was non-alcoholic until I checked after this video.
I'm 20 with a lot of saliva since I have a small mouth , so I use the purple listerine in the morning, for now I am gonna switch to the non alcoholic version cause alcohol mouthwash burns me but I have braces so sometimes I can have a bleeding gum , but a simple warm water salt rinse can fix that in couple days. Anyways I use the purple listerine in the morning and a opti rinse 0.2 fluoride rinse at night after waterpik, brushing, scape tongue and flossing
I'm actually using 2 right now. I'm using Act (one of the dentists at my office suggested it to help it... I can't remember all the details, but it's because of my acid reflux. I think he said that it'd help protect my teeth with a layer of fluoride) and then I use Biotene for dry mouth
I recently started using alcohol free Listerine in the mornings and I've noticed that I get this pasty something in my mouth later. It feels like the inside of my mouth is peeling off. Any idea what's going on?
I just accidentally bought a bottle of the slightly yellow-orange color mouth wash and it says that that contains alcohol. Then, after watching this video, I felt complicated. Should I throw it away and get a new one, or keep it?😩
Don't throw it away what I usually like to do with it is use the mouthwash to disinfect my electric toothbrush head I put it and give it a swish for 30 secs and leave it for about 3 Mins and I feel like it's cleaner :) use it twice a week and I'm sure the bottle will be used up quick.
@@dollyvuitton Ahhh... So it can also use like that? Then, I will use it to clean my tongue cleanser 😋 I'm such a fool. I usually buy the blue one, but that day when I went to the pharmacy and saw many bottles, I decided to try the different ones and randomly bought with the alcohol one 😭
Hydrogen Peroxide based (Crest Diamond) is much, much better than alcohol based mouthwash's, IMO. Buy the White Bottles, you can see them more and more on the shelves.
Hey @TeethTalk why when I use without alcohol , I get white skin on my gums and my cheeks and then I can feel the skin falling apart. It’s like when you tear the skin off your lips and you see a white or transparent skin
I just bought the purple non-alcoholic listerine from Costco and the after taste is disgusting to me, all my water taste sweet even hours later. I cant stand it! costco size is 2 Liters cry😮
No mouthwash for me, but I do get every last particle of food out of my mouth with flossing, water flossing and brushing. And I don't eat any animal products because they stink -- especially cheese!
