There's something about Bowser showing up to deliver Peach's invitation that's really sweet. Didn't even have to kidnap her this time, he just flashed the envelopes like he had tickets to a concert.
You made Waluigi just how I would envision him: caring enough to support his brother in joining Smash, but evil enough to smack a random toad out of the way to get into Smash. Great job!

Uhm.... why ask Sakurai? He isn't a Mario series producer or Nintendo CEO. He only makes smash bros. If Miyamoto and other directros do support waluigi, they'd had ask Sakurai to make him a smash fighter and disagree with plant piranha already. Despite I like him, I wouldn't say Waluigi was definitely on the top priority of the preference. I agree that Plant Piranha isn't preferred by the majority, but other current Mario fighters like Bowser and Rosalina are definitely popular. Besides there was a ballot in Smash 4 and Waluigi would had made it by topping that.

When it showed Waluigi giving the invitation to Wario in 2008 I was expecting Wario to be like “Hey bro you can still join but only in this Snowglobe Prison they call Assist Trophies, you’ll randomly get summoned, hopefully you get your chance someday bro”
Wario putting someone else before himself despite greed being his main trait is very impactful. It’s not even very out of character for Wario, considering there are times he’s done good with no treasure reward, and that time he stopped chasing the pirates who stole his money until he made sure his hen was safe. I’d assume that Wario and Waluigi have a pretty close bond so seeing them treat each other well is very heartwarming
I don't know where I read this but Wario aparently met Waluigi as a rando on the street and just... invited him to play tennis with the gang. Friendship can come from the most unexpected places

While I respect the story creation, for Smash bros it would be incorrect to pair Waluigi with Wario as they aren't in the same group of franchise representatives. If Wario gets an invite for a new charater, it'd be Syrup or Mona who originates from his games. Waluigi will only follow Mario as he is a Mario series characters.
The fact that you animated scenes with Walluigi and Wario as well as an alternative costume for Walluigi, a moveset using his Tennis racquet, and a final smash for him as well is brilliant 👏
I think modders make Waluigi fight with tennis mostly to go along with the canon settings, it's not exactly something "brilliant". It's more like a restriction. If Waluigi has his own adventure, it'd provide a better moveset idea than just tennis.
I'm not a Waluigi fan but damn, this trailer made me want him in. I feel bad for the guy in this video and it makes me happy how he exactly got into Smash here.

I love this in part because I think Waluigi is a great character and thus I’m biased towards any kind of content surrounding him But putting that large bias aside, I’d still think this video is phenomenal for the sheer quality, storytelling, and entertainment aspect. A lot of heart went into it, clearly. Amazing work - hopefully it’ll become a reality one day! I’ll keep hoping!
This is like my dream trailer. The only change I would make is Waluigi breaking out of an Assist Trophy with a tag line like “Waluigi Breaks Free!” Or “Waluigi Cheats His Way In!”
I always thought of it like this, Waluigi Reveal: You’ll see Mario battling it out and then someone picks up an Assist Trophy……but then no one pops from it, Then Waluigi cheats in and crashes the party! But this one is even better because it follows a timeline of all Mario Characters and when they joined.
For a trailer that was not made by Nintendo, that so greatly captivates the characteristics and attitudes of these beloved characters all based around adding a character that many continue to dream of entering such an incredible game, this was amazing. Outstanding work 👏, all of you.
Sometimes I'm asking myself if Sakurai is seeing what awesome stuff the fans come up with. Damn this trailer did hit right into the feels, but seriously...Waluigi actually deserves a spot in Smash. Really looking forward to it :D
@@wakkaseta8351 Sakurai would most likely be fine with it considering how much fan service he adds into Smash and how he himself is a huge fan of many of the franchises represented. It's the higher ups at Nintendo that you should be worried about. THEY'RE the ones dropping the C&D bombs all over the damn place, not the devs who work their asses off to deliver to us fans.
Not sure about Sakurai, but Nintendo definitely knows - they recently banned P+ (sort of the spiritual successor to PM) from a big tournament (Riptide)
Gotta say I'm a fan of smash and I'm a fan of your vids too! Pretty awesome work with the animations and cinemetography! "Waluigi invites himself." was a great line. 😂 To be honest, I think you'd have a lot of traction doing creative shorts/animation projects like this (outside of reveal trailers.) Either way, keep up the great work!
This is so good I don’t even know how to explain. The moment when Wario tries to give his invitation to Waluigi but walugi refuses and hands Wario his ware hat… felt like an emotional scene from a Disney Pixar movie. Not even lying. The soft piano music helps. How could I not mention the part where waluigi looks at the billboard and sees bowser jr. and Daisy… When this popped up in my recommendation I was expecting some meme that was given little thought. Wasn’t expecting a fan trailer that had many hours of work put into it. This is a freaking 10/10.

What made me cry was when Waluigi thought him and Wario got an invitation like Mario and Luigi but only Wario got it. You can tell that Wario was deciding if he should give his invitation to Waluigi or keep it. What made me cry even more was that he was willing to give it to Waluigi. Even though Waluigi rejected it, it was nice to see him support his brother.

the way that waluigi is a genuinely caring brother in that when wario offered his invatation to him, he refused and gave him his helmet. that got more emotion out of me than most movies done by whole companies.

I've never really been on the Waluigi bandwagon. But stuff like this, showing there are indeed people who want Waluigi in beyond just it being a meme, it really does make me root for Waluigi to make it. Maybe this is because Daisy got into Smash too (albiet as an echo), but if she can get her chance, so can Waluigi. If he ever makes it, I'll welcome him with open arms.
Also not sure entirely as to why people say that Waluigi wouldn't be able to have a moveset, we don't really have a character who can represent mario party, along with the Mario sports games, both of which are huge parts of the Mario franchise, Why not have waluigi be our representative of those games? I think it was nice of Wario to try and give his brother the invite. It shows that no matter how bad you are you still care about something or someone in your life
The artwork of that part was particularly incredible. You can see in Wario's eyes that he really wants to go, but his mind is made up that Waluigi should have it
Until now I wasn't even sure whether he really was an important character. I mean the moveset here shows his biggest dilemma: he's quite lacking in signature moes and characteristics (the tennis-moves for instance could be applied to all other mario tennis-participants hence mario himself) while Wario has a way stronger legacy to look back to. I mean, nintendo could just change that and add something unique to Waluigis moveset for the next 2 or 3 games he's gonna appear in to add some recognizability. I mean then again, Daisy is also in there and she's way more of an empty shell than he is, so of course they could still just throm him into the roster with these moves shown here.

@@addictedtoRS (kudos for that username, I believe I often would name my Link Zelda like that ;) ) Waluigi was more created to fill some empty spot in ...whatever game he appeared first and as it might have made sense that Waluigi also has some brother (from another mother). And if you think about it, Luigi wasn't created out of love for men with green hats but to have some different colord guy for player 2. These characters of course serve purposes and whenever Nintendo would come up with a game for Waluigi, some manager would argue, if this wouldn't sell better if it was just a Mario game instead. Luigi also took nearly 20 years to finally get Luigi's Mansion. The good thing is, that with Waluigi, theres a character you could still fill with a lot of new ideas as they never did too much with him. And just having a Wario Bros one day would be a pretty interesting twist on the concept, as the New Super Mario Bros-concept wore out pretty quickly, while something like this could actually add something very fresh. Like a new Wario Land with the looks of NSMB and Waluigi as second character. oh, Nintendo, please take notes (I'm sure they're like NSA all the time scanning youtube comments for great game ideas)

Shouldn't the attention be handled by the original games which the characters belong to? Smash is only about choosing franchise reps, not about giving spotlights. If we really talk about the Mario series characters who need spotlights, Nabbit and EGadd would need this more than Waluigi. Waluigi's absence from Bowser's Fury and Luigi's Mnasion is obviously a much bigger deal.

These are two contrary viewpoint. If we want to look for "characters that need spotlights", we would of course choose the ones less important than Waluigi. For example, poor homeless kids need donation because they're in a poor conditition. Not because they're more important than presidents and emperors around the world. So the problem is, Smash isn't the place for characters to gain spotlights. Spotlights should be given by the original games first. By that case, Mario, the most important character of his series shouldn't had even got in in the first place.

Despite I like him, I wouldn't say Waluigi was definitely on the top priority of the preference. I agree that Plant Piranha isn't preferred by the majority, but other current Mario fighters like Bowser and Rosalina are definitely popular. Wario putting someone else before himself despite greed being his main trait is very impactful. It’s not even very out of character for Wario, considering there are times he’s done good with no treasure reward, and that time he stopped chasing the pirates who stole his money until he made sure his hen was safe. I’d assume that Wario and Waluigi have a pretty close bond so seeing them treat each other well is very heartwarming
I don't know where I read this but Wario aparently met Waluigi as a rando on the street and just... invited him to play tennis with the gang. Friendship can come from the most unexpected places

While I respect the story creation, for Smash bros it would be incorrect to pair Waluigi with Wario as they aren't in the same group of franchise representatives. If Wario gets an invite for a new charater, it'd be Syrup or Mona who originates from his games. Waluigi will only follow Mario as he is a Mario series characters.

The fact that you animated scenes with Walluigi and Wario as well as an alternative costume for Walluigi, a moveset using his Tennis racquet, and a final smash for him as well is brilliant 👏
I think modders make Waluigi fight with tennis mostly to go along with the canon settings, it's not exactly something "brilliant". It's more like a restriction. If Waluigi has his own adventure, it'd provide a better moveset idea than just tennis.

I love this in part because I think Waluigi is a great character and thus I’m biased towards any kind of content surrounding him
But putting that large bias aside, I’d still think this video is phenomenal for the sheer quality, storytelling, and entertainment aspect. A lot of heart went into it, clearly. Amazing work - hopefully it’ll become a reality one day! I’ll keep hoping!

It's the higher ups at Nintendo that you should be worried about. THEY'RE the ones dropping the C&D bombs all over the damn place, not the devs who work their asses off to deliver to us fans.
Not sure about Sakurai, but Nintendo definitely knows - they recently banned P+ (sort of the spiritual successor to PM) from a big tournament (Riptide)

This is so good I don’t even know how to explain. The moment when Wario tries to give his invitation to Waluigi but walugi refuses and hands Wario his ware hat… felt like an emotional scene from a Disney Pixar movie. Not even lying. The soft piano music helps. How could I not mention the part where waluigi looks at the billboard and sees bowser jr. and Daisy…
When this popped up in my recommendation I was expecting some meme that was given little thought. Wasn’t expecting a fan trailer that had many hours of work put into it. This is a freaking 10/10.

What made me cry was when Waluigi thought him and Wario got an invitation like Mario and Luigi but only Wario got it. You can tell that Wario was deciding if he should give his invitation to Waluigi or keep it. What made me cry even more was that he was willing to give it to Waluigi. Even though Waluigi rejected it, it was nice to see him support his brother.

I've never really been on the Waluigi bandwagon. But stuff like this, showing there are indeed people who want Waluigi in beyond just it being a meme, it really does make me root for Waluigi to make it. Maybe this is because Daisy got into Smash too (albiet as an echo), but if she can get her chance, so can Waluigi. If he ever makes it, I'll welcome him with open arms.

Until now I wasn't even sure whether he really was an important character. I mean the moveset here shows his biggest dilemma: he's quite lacking in signature moes and characteristics (the tennis-moves for instance could be applied to all other mario tennis-participants hence mario himself) while Wario has a way stronger legacy to look back to.
I mean, nintendo could just change that and add something unique to Waluigis moveset for the next 2 or 3 games he's gonna appear in to add some recognizability.
I mean then again, Daisy is also in there and she's way more of an empty shell than he is, so of course they could still just throm him into the roster with these moves shown here.
@@dashmash2233 This comment made me realize Waluigi isn't in any games other than Mario Kart, Mario Tennis and Mario Party. Never really though of that before. What a shame, he deserves his own game like Wario.
@@addictedtoRS (kudos for that username, I believe I often would name my Link Zelda like that ;) ) Waluigi was more created to fill some empty spot in ...whatever game he appeared first and as it might have made sense that Waluigi also has some brother (from another mother). And if you think about it, Luigi wasn't created out of love for men with green hats but to have some different colord guy for player 2. These characters of course serve purposes and whenever Nintendo would come up with a game for Waluigi, some manager would argue, if this wouldn't sell better if it was just a Mario game instead. Luigi also took nearly 20 years to finally get Luigi's Mansion.
The good thing is, that with Waluigi, theres a character you could still fill with a lot of new ideas as they never did too much with him. And just having a Wario Bros one day would be a pretty interesting twist on the concept, as the New Super Mario Bros-concept wore out pretty quickly, while something like this could actually add something very fresh. Like a new Wario Land with the looks of NSMB and Waluigi as second character.

Shouldn't the attention be handled by the original games which the characters belong to? Smash is only about choosing franchise reps, not about giving spotlights. If we really talk about the Mario series characters who need spotlights, Nabbit and EGadd would need this more than Waluigi.
Waluigi's absence from Bowser's Fury and Luigi's Mnasion is obviously a much bigger deal.

You didn't get the point. What the original comment said is that Waluigi lacks spotlights. What you're saying is that Waluigi is important to his franchise. These are two contrary viewpoint. If we want to look for "characters that need spotlights", we would of course choose the ones less important than Waluigi.
For example, poor homeless kids need donation because they're in a poor conditition. Not because they're more important than presidents and emperors around the world.
So the problem is, Smash isn't the place for characters to gain spotlights. Spotlights should be given by the original games first. By that case, Mario, the most important character of his series shouldn't had even got in in the first place.

Went into video figuring it was fan-made then was like “oh shit, did I miss something??” It was so convincing until I saw coming October 2021, and it’s almost a year later, so there’s no way I would have missed that reveal. The gameplay demo was what had me sold it could be real. Good job!!
