Agreed! This is fascinating, just how the code of this game behaves and what it implies about the development and possible scrapped content is an entire rabbit hole I love to surf down from time to time
I don't think it implies that Talus camouflage themselves, but rather each Talus is made of whatever the ground is made of. If you took the cobblestone Talus into the grass, it would still be a cobblestone Talus.
This game will forever be one of the best openworld games I've ever played. The little details are what makes its replay value so high. There's also this strange sense of freedom, the fact that you could beat the final boss from the start is clear proof of that.
@@YaBoiDoi I think what the commenter meant was that most open worlds are very limiting and restrictive. Especially when it comes to the story and the open world, they end up being very separate, limiting what the player can do. But in breath of the wild, there is far more freedom to do whatever you want, which might be considered strange compared to other games in the genre.
considering ToTK will use the same engine and likely reuse plenty of assets or have them changed slightly I'm pretty sure that the Talus Camoflauge is here to stay
Instead of rain making you fall off the side of a mountain, it would be cool if all the sudden the side of the hill rumbles and you find ourself on the arm of a Talus and it then flings you. :P
It definitely feels like a sort of "future proofed" feature, where they could place a Talus more or less wherever they wanted without it seeming out of place or worrying about making new specific textures for it. Super cool stuff

I managed to find out about the moon shadow one on my own, but it was on my 9th or 10th run of the game. I was climbing the tower at night and I thought to myself “why is that pedestal lit up?” And then I noticed the shadow from the moonlight. Absolutely amazing level of detail
Another fun fact about the Talus camouflage. There is actually a parameter to override the camouflage. Only one Talus in the game does not auto-camouflage with this parameter in use at Champion's Gate North. I think there is about 60 or so different materials that can be used with this parameter. Tested some of the more crazy ones not shown in this video like Cherry Blossom talus, Green Lawn Talus and Zora's Domain Blue Stone Talus a few years back.
Its amazing that we get one of these every month. We have now gone through 22 episodes already and I have watched all of them. This is a truly marvelous series. Keep it up Gamespot!
During number 14, I had that shrine be activated by a shadow of a Ice Lizalfos jumping at me. I guess the shadow was in the perfect spot and that happened. So yeah, that shrine can be activated with ANY shadow, and it’s great.
Cactus plural form is cacti not cactuses. So should it be tali instead of talusses for the word talus. Noun or proper noun does it matter. Oh well. Peace out

my favorite part was learning about the rental and wild sand seal speed difference. One of my favorite things in BotW is to shield surf in the desert with one of those seals. Now i can do it faster

The talus camouflage would be a nice dev timesaver - no need to pick a texture! It also probably saves memory, since they don't have to load anything that isn't already loaded for the environment (by definition!)

The electric lizalfos aura could've been an amazing detail added to hard mode. Sadly the only thing that DID happen was giving enemies more health. (Floating structures were fine, i guess)

If you unlock the divine beast Dungeons but leave before getting the map, you can talk to the champion successors and get unique dialogue. Teba will even curse.
this is probably known by some players already, but i didnt know it before: early in the morning at around 5:00 AM, koko will go to kakariko village's graveyard to visit her mum's grave, and begin to cry, but is startled out of it when Link comes close. i never knew about this, could be cool to include in the next video
I think cryonis is intended for the cold shadow because there is water right there and the journal person says that they never had the tools in the first place (anyone could make a snowball )
2 New facts 1: when doing a 1 hander spinattack after 1 shorts attack u can see a new Charge Animation anf you even hit enemies two times eith this spin 2: Sailing around the Maze island in akkals is the scarriest thing ive ever done and Fish as well as Lizalfos can sporn there
the fact that you can replace the snowball with items that are big enough is genius and such a time saver. never again will i have to stand there for 5-10 min and wait for the sun to be the perfect angle, only to realize my snowball was too small and I have to start over
13. That.....makes a LOT more sense for the riddle.... I unlocked it by standing on top of the shrine Tower, and shooting an arrow onto the center of the platform. When the tower's shadow was on it. It took me so long to get the right angle and timing, but it finally worked.

Fun fact! There are only a few bokoblins in the entitet game that has a horn but is not archers, they only exist in Master mode and are the ones guarding the bridge to the coluseum. There are archers there with horns too but there are also some boko’s there with other weapons for close combat with horns to warn their friends. This cannot be found anywhere else in the game, at least that I know of

We already saw talus encampments in the second (?) trailer so I’m sure there will be more to show off the really cool textures!

I just picked it up before last Christmas after owned a switch since 2019, 70hrs into it and I feel like I have barely seen all that it has to offer.
