This is why I've stopped going to karaoke. Because every time I went, there was always an older gentleman who should have been cut off at some point, and always sang sad, depressing country songs throughout the night.
@@NightFoxProductions I used to run a karaoke show. There is one of those at every damn night. The one that stands out the most to me, and the one where I turned his mic off was awful. He had his name down for about 20 fucking songs and more and more people were leaving and it was really only him left so we packed up karaoke and started to play music.
I actually feel bad for Jana and the other girl, they never taught them how to make drinks or bartend and then they are angry that they overpour and unintentionally give away drinks??? I think that's completely the fault of management and they should have been given the opportunity to actually learn instead of immediately fired without notice.
24:27 "The number one responsibility of a bar manager is to keep your customers safe. *You can't do that when you're DRUNK.* " Bam, a very exaggerated but solid point.
There is a huge difference between purposely overpouring and not being trained properly. I didn't see the whole episode but if the two ladies were trained right then it probably wouldn't have happened.
This show is mad scripted so can't really say it wasn't intentional. People have said who worked at some bars that it's fake, one dude asked production about how much they wanted him to say he was in debt
@@sparks1545 Did you? She clearly was. At best you can debate if it was intentional or not (which is literally what Jon says, they are either thieves or idiots) They claim all those no sales are tips (which is already debateable) that they then put in the draw (and Jon literally says that way its impossible to track what is theirs and what is the bars money) Since the money isn't seperated in the draw, they don't keep track of the amount and don't even count it when taking it out its pretty much guaranteed she took more then just her tips. They just quicky grab a stack of bills and walk away while hiding it (why be so secretive when taking it out if its theirs?), so yeah, obvious theft. Especially when you add that they still put their "tips" in the draw even after getting caught
Glad to see people acknowledge the overpouring thing - there’s other reasons this could be happening; not just giving away drinks. I think it was unfair to label them as thieves doing the equivalent of taking cash from the register
The 2 kids were constantly ringing up no-sale (which they claimed were tips). Willing to bet a lot of that missing money had nothing to do with overpouring or free drinks and everything to do with the pair of them just charging for the drinks and claiming it was then tip money and pocketing it (afterall, that system only looks at how much cash is paid vs liquor gone and doesn't take the "no sale" part into the equation)
well since its scripted they have to point out a few things that actually happen in bars...but this is scripted...so they have to play the part they are given by the producers other wise the show would be BORING....well more boring than it is. The only thing that would stop it from being boring is if the viewers didn't know it was scripted.....seriously, do you know whats real and what isn't? I think you don't
She's lucky she didn't go to jail. Before I would have fired her I would have the police standing by that way I would not only say "you're fired" but I will tell the cops I wish to press charges so they can slap the cuffs on her and take her away.
I need somebody to explain this better ... Was it like a sweater they were selling or something? I'm missing something. I don't think I'd fire someone over a sweater. She walking... They apparently don't pay her much money, it's probably cold at her house.
So why didn’t the son and daughter get fired? They were caught “stealing”. The other 2 bartenders didn’t know how to do their job. Of course they should’ve learned how to, but that means everyone who over pours at any bar, Jon should have them fired which he doesn’t. Plus the kids took money from the register and the daughter clearly walked away with money. Plus the son complains about having to work there and he didn’t care to have a job there. So why are the kids still there? Who cares if they’re family. Jon’s had it plenty of times when there’s bad family employees, they get let go. Also, I don’t know why the daughter started crying when hearing the employees mistakes of over pouring. They seemed to not know how to do their job which they should, but most on Bar Rescue don’t get fired over it. The daughter took money out of the register. Ken should’ve been the only one left since he didn’t steal in any way.
That entire episode had always bothered me because of how Jon went about the situation. But I think at some point in the episode, the brother and sister claimed "they didn't know" because they would put their tips in the register and kept ringing "no sale" whenever they did a transaction, so I guess Jon assumed that they weren't aware of stealing? Regardless, both of them should've gotten fired for doing that crap in the first place. Jon was so ass backwards in that episode XD
@@3goofygoober I totally agree. That episode was all around bad. Yeah it did make Jon look terrible. Also, if I were the only employee left that’s not family, I’d be looking for another job and leave ‘cause of the fact that the kids said they didn’t know what they were doing and so did the non family employee who didn’t know how to make the drinks that got fired. I’d try to secure another job ‘cause who knows if any other non family member will get canned ‘cause of something they don’t know they were doing wrong, find out they’re making a mistake and that it is costing the business money, then get fired all during the same conversation. That’s what this family/mom made it seem like. A big thing besides the kids probably stealing is that the son doesn’t even want to be working (well at least not working there). So he should’ve been fired for losing money for the business and not caring about it and it’s just a guaranteed paycheck for him as long the business is open. So he didn’t have to care ‘cause he knows his mom isn’t gonna fire him no matter what he does or says about the business.
@@KelliConan Yeah, the mother was defending her kids stealing all throughout the conversation when Jon was there with the grandfather. Caught them BOTH on camera pocketing money and the mom continued to stand by them claiming "my kids don't steal". And Jon totally ignored all of that by the time he decided to fire the un-trained employees with the exception of one. The kids don't respect their grandfather's money and the mother is enabling them to continue doing that slimy crap. I feel bad for the grandfather because you can see how tired and disappointed he is about the whole thing. Some of the firings could’ve been solved if the owner wasn’t being cheap and trained their staff properly, especially Jana and Melody. Overpouring doesn't make you a thief and it's disgusting to fire them without looking more into it. Also, the fact that Jana worked there for months without knowing how to make the most popular drinks says a lot about herself for not asking for help or learning herself, sure, but says even more about the owner for not make sure all of her bartenders can make a proper drink. Message to all business owners: train your staff. No excuses. It's better for your business in the long run.
ikr i felt so bad gor those girls. clearly they were not trained and i honestly feel that they had no bad intentions. they definetly just made the subconscious realization that more booze means more tips. and honestly if american servers and bartenders werent so dependent on tips this wouldnt ever be a problem. they would have no incentive overpour because they know they earn a stable income and they would no how to make all of the drinks because if they didnt they know thay they would just lose their jobs.
My boss teaches everyone how to do everything in the office that way everyone can help the customers to the best of the companies abilities but how it runs is a low level employee (myself) can't rent to customers (I work for a car rental agency)
The truth is, most bosses just want to do what's easiest for them, and that includes training. They'll use words like 'incentive' and 'self-starter' because they don't want to spend time giving people the help they really need. And if there are problems, they'll just ignore it until they can't anymore because again, that's easier for them. I've worked in jobs where my bosses avoided helping me in my weak spots (and I asked to be shown how to improve) by having other people do those jobs instead. Then those people left, and we were back to square because they didn't do the work they should have. Bosses have to make sure everyone can do what's needed, but most just don't put in the time.

True, but you hire people because of their experience.. if they are wanting a position as a bartender then they should take initiative and learn how. It's called Google or RUclips, just search how to make a drink
@@grylltheonion The key word is 'initiative'. You take initiative to be a indispensable resource for the job you are hired to do. You got into a job that you dont know jack shit about? I've got 3 friends who professionally tend bars, and I definitely recall one getting taught from his manager on heavy handed pouring. Despite what Mr Taffer is saying, its not the equivalent of THEFT... and he's being melodramatic. You would NEVER find a jury, let alone DA, or a cop, who would charge a bar tender for stealing, from heavy handed pouring. 8:19 where he talks about not demoting employees.. So. Fucking. Important. And not just in bars or restaurants. Demoting or swapping employees who are just bad because you like them as people keeps the bad quality in your work, no matter where you put them, and it tends to drive out quality employees who don't want to work with those standards. Quick to fire, slow to hire.
there is such a thing as promotion to incompetence, aka getting promoted out of a working position you are good at into one that you are bad at so I cant agree with never demoting people, but it also depends on the size of the business I think. Small businesses will have a harder time with disgruntled employees than bigger ones, or atleast that is what I imagine from my own experiences.
If you demote someone, you create a never ending, unspoken mission by that employee to derail whoever got the higher position. It's actually kindness to let someone learn a harsh lesson in your place and maybe do what's required in another setting. You're also right (IMHO) that if you protect the unproductive, the productives will be the first to leave for better pastures.

I mean, I've been bartending for over 10 years and nobody ever trained me 🤷♂️ and when I "train" others. I use something I call baptism by fire. I put them on their first shift on a friday night and they either make it or not.
You give them the rundown of what to do, it’s up to them to be able to get the hang of it. It’s not like rocket science that’s a careful team effort, your dispensing cocktails...ya don’t need someone to hold your hand for it

That was also a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen the way he was talking to those women.

I agree! If they were never trained how is it their fault for over pouring??
It’s not that hard to know the difference when you’ve drank yourself

There is a huge difference between purposely overpouring and not being trained properly. I didn't see the whole episode but if the two ladies were trained right then it probably wouldn't have happened.
I mean in the full episode the 2 kids stole money from the register and here they are crying about overpouring...
right ? like she barely knew what was in a margarita so ofc there’s gonna be a problem with overpouring. i wouldn’t put it past the kids either
This show is mad scripted so can't really say it wasn't intentional. People have said who worked at some bars that it's fake, one dude asked production about how much they wanted him to say he was in debt

@@sparks1545 she definitely was LMMFAO her and her brother 🙄😒😳😳😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@sparks1545 Did you? She clearly was. At best you can debate if it was intentional or not (which is literally what Jon says, they are either thieves or idiots)
They claim all those no sales are tips (which is already debateable) that they then put in the draw (and Jon literally says that way its impossible to track what is theirs and what is the bars money) Since the money isn't seperated in the draw, they don't keep track of the amount and don't even count it when taking it out its pretty much guaranteed she took more then just her tips.
They just quicky grab a stack of bills and walk away while hiding it (why be so secretive when taking it out if its theirs?), so yeah, obvious theft. Especially when you add that they still put their "tips" in the draw even after getting caught
"You can't even cook a hamburger man..."
"I CAN COOK A

😂😂

I need somebody to explain this better ... Was it like a sweater they were selling or something? I'm missing something. I don't think I'd fire someone over a sweater. She walking... They apparently don't pay her much money, it's probably cold at her house.
This made me laugh so hard!
The kids don't respect their grandfather's money and the mother is enabling them to continue doing that slimy crap.

Ayy props to Mikey in the first clips for being such a bold bartender for being so inexperienced. Props to him

Star Wars Awesome
Cosplay Ramsay never fails to disappoint - all the rage but with Sopranos dialogue. "Dat ship has sailed," "It's your ass!" Love the show and the uploads btw. "You need to be the one in charge.. now DO AS I TELL YOU and sack someone."
The joy Diana had when Jon could see that she wasn't the problem.
Seeing that one of the employees broke a glass in the ice bin reminds me of all the times I have reminded the cooks at my local hospital to not put the knives used in the kitchen on the carts for dirty kitchen dishes because I could easily mangle my fingers and turn them into human sashimi.
That guy that got fired drives a moped?
It was hard to not laugh
Kevin got fired and he is an ass. 🤮🤣
Some of these Bartender need to be trained instead of fired, because before they were hired they should have checked there qualifications!
20:05 Jon, you the man , but "destroyed his future' is crazy🤣

The angry little rebellious toot toot on the "motorcycle" at 20:14 tickles me
8:19 where he talks about not demoting employees.. So. Fucking.
