Wings had a unique sound. Denny and Linda's vocals are not talked about enough. They sing brilliantly with Paul - the harmonizing is just the best! I really wish Paul kept Wings together in the 80s - they would have done amazing things! Maybe Linda just was done with it. Can't really blame her. She had 4 kids + one big kid in Paul. She probably was sick of the touring.
After the drug problems in Japan, then Johns murder, he had to play safe. Also he had taken them as far as he could. He just decided he wanted to do other things too.

No, the tapes that were stolen were Paul's demos for the songs to be recorded as Band on the Run. He had to remember all the songs and recreate them in the studio. Pretty amazing.
Now that you mentioned it. Yeah, this would have been twice as good if the cameramen panned back. Lots of great stuff going on here. But I'm still blow away by the performance. And Less than 15,000 hits??? I don't get it.
