    Hi Pete another enjoyable video - your documented journey is a great source of learning as seeing someone else’s perspective on training a hawk really challenges me in the way I do things and I suspect a lot of others who watch your channel. Negative comments say more about the people that make them than those they are directed at. I sincerely hope you will continue with your videos during the mould as I look forward to watching Woody with a beer on a Friday night.

    Hi Pete. As a complete novice I find your videos really useful.
    I can watch many excellent teaching videos, but what I love about your videos is that they are a realistic journey of falconry.
    You’ve repeated numerous times that you aren’t teaching, only documenting your journey. If people aren’t listening, that’s not your problem.
    Please keep up the good work, they are excellent viewing

    Hi Pete
    Very good video
    No matter what other people say about how you work your hawk your doing a good job at it
    Woody responds to you when you ask him to
    Like you said you have to be doing something right
    I am not a falconer but if it works for you stick with it
    Everyone has there own opinion no what the subject is
    Woody has worked well today with you
    Nice day out for sure
    See you on your next adventure

    great video mush, also interesting about the old mine like you say lets not get political but an era that saw the beginning of the end for British Industry pretty much. But life goes on . Fair point on weight , weight is important but there are so many factors individual birds/condition vs weight ie .muscle to fat ratios. Fitness levels etc etc . Your journey and what an interesting one .

    • @freebirdofreason1994

      That’s it with weight, you could right a book on the subject and people probably have, fair to much to really explain on you tube.
      Thank you have a great weekend.

    Very good video, Pete of you showcasing YOUR journey with Woody and not saying that people should be doing what you do.
    I thought that was obvious but obviously not to everyone! 😩
    Look forward to the next one:)

    True words there Pete. Few people fly any hawk every day for the season , fewer still stick with the same hawk for a few seasons and fewer still do all that and put out a RUclips video every week for years , I say to all critics “ we appreciate your input as it’s valuable for our viewers, but when you’ve done all the above you’re in a better place to come on and troll!”

    Weight is certainly an interesting subject. Have you considered thoughts on muscular weight as well as fat weight and the flying weight. Loads to say on this video. As there is the trust element which has not been added in. The strong team workers also help hold it all together. Thank you, I do envy the strong bond you have there.

    • @freebirdofreason1994
      @freebirdofreason1994  8 месяцев назад

      That’s it there is so much to this subject, it’s changes with all hawks , all situations, how long into season, how much manning is involved.
      I was going to mention fat and muscle, yes lowering weight to much may waste muscle.
      Thank you.

    Hi Pete, between storms and different temperatures here in The Republic of Ireland at the moment it is super hard for me training my F/HH 30 week old baby. Loads of food for thought on working weight on your videos. I think looking at your videos is that Bo is really maturing with every outing. I often wondered if it was possible to tame or domesticate a bird of prey like I do with my parrots. I don't think so, I see Woodey and feel he works with you true thrust and maybe in his mind if I follow these guys I have a chance of catching something. I wonder who is the real team leader 😂😂

    • @phillipwasson2980

      You beat me to the point! I was going to make the same statement about Woody usurping
      Pete as the boss. The dynamics of this remarkable team changing quickly.

    • @freebirdofreason1994
      @freebirdofreason1994  8 месяцев назад +2

      True ,the team leader must be Woody, we are like his servants I recon .
      woody definitely knows we are producing food, I think that’s all he wants from us then happy to chill out on a perch.
      A 30 week FHH will be different again I’m sure, I hope all is going well for you, I did want a female originally but the male has been a good experience.
      good luck.

    Nice one Pete
    If you know your hawk well as you do you do what is good for you and the hawk. I fly 5 or 6 days a week pest control. I know what mine fly well at. When the temperature is low the weight needs to be up, and as you say the weight should not need to be fixed, there are so many variables in a week that will make there weight go up or down a bit. It's all about getting to know what works well for you and the hawk. You should both enjoy the experience. 😊

    Hey Pete, has Woody ever gone into a stoop from a high pitch and catch game?🤔

    • @freebirdofreason1994
      @freebirdofreason1994  8 месяцев назад

      Yes he has caught Rabbit from a stoop but rarely, has had a few unsuccessful stoop too.
      To me these are what I like to see a catch from stoop, we don’t often get the lift from the hill .
