I can't imagine what possibilities Tex can do if anyone is a veteran you should ask people who have actually played the previous game to input I have a feeling Tex already given some of his own thoughts on the game also thank you for the previous video from BattleTech take a break when you can.
Walking outside the confines of tiles feels wrong. It's not a problem, but seeing free flow ss13 movement just feels wrong, like forbidden knowledge that you wish you never had.
haha i was the zombie botanist at 5:00. i was so amused someone threw a basketball at me to defend themselves that i decided to just spam click the basketball instead of chasing
8:38 I used to play a game like that too, you had to download the game and you could select from a big list of custom powders from an in-game browser. Much more fun than the java powder game everybody knows about
My favorite ones were wxsand and powder toy. Pretty sure powder toy was the more advanced one from the two but wxsand had modding support though which was quite cool. Then there was oe-cake too, but I'm pretty sure the development for that one got shelved quite fast.
The best admin fuckery I had seen on ss14 was (If I remember correctly.) kudzu-spreading (as in spreading like kudzu) teleportation lockers. Or it was lockers that removed you from existence but still.
Well you are partially right. Admins are a complete mess. They lack a lot of structure so some will instantly ban you for calling someone gay while others will warn you. Sometimes when you ahelp them, they will actually act but not tell you anything and then get aggressive if you get rightfully mad for thinking that they suck. They still suffer a huge shitter problem even with extreme bans. At least there are more smaller servers with more chill admins. The game itself seems to be mostly good understanding what is fun and balanced. Other than chef, the rest of the roles have about enough content to be pretty fun. Stuns are still annoying and unfair but apparently the new wip stamina system will fix it.

The movement and physics in ss14 are awful if you've gotten used to ss13, thanks for bringing that up. Hard to move on because of that but maybe I'm just afraid of change. Can't wait to get off byond though
I prefer it honestly, I am terrible at combat in SS13 but it feels much better in SS14 when I can predict movements real-time without having to queue them up like a turn based fighting game
Other way for me, I fucking hate how janky and laggy ss13 is in general. Sometimes if I wanna delve into a more feature rich experience I’ll jump on ss13 but ss14 has spoiled me with fluidity that byond will never provide. Since the engine and game are both open source, I think this will be the one to break the curse and possibly rival ss13 in a big way - it’d be possible to add back in tile based movement and have the silky smooth experience of ss14 with the movement feel of ss13
Whoa! I cant believe this is actually becoming a thing! I stopped following for some reason, and completely forgot about it. Has the ss13 remake curse been finally lifted??
Since they’re building it along side an engine specifically made for it, both from the ground up, I believe so. They’re not at the mercy of what unity will let them do or whatever other engine. If they hit a limitation in the engine, they can go and address that limitation directly opposed to work arounds and expand the engine to encompass the game opposed to making it a tower of duct tape.
I think it’s going to break the curse due to using their own game engine specifically made for SS gameplay. I think other remake projects were doomed due to engine limitations, with robust toolbox they have full control and can tweak the beck end to do whatever they need it to do.
@@masteroflame6141 seeing as open dream has footage out there compiling DM (which uses robust toolbox/SS14) that means that in the future it could be feasible to actually port SS13 to robust and completely break off from byond
