- Here I explain the differences between Unity Station and Space Station 13 and then I tell some stories.

Shuttle crashes didn't work since shuttles now have safeties on them that prevent them from colliding with shit to prevent mass griefing like before. However, emags used on the piloting consoles disable the safeties and allow you to crash shuttles into anything like before.
So they just added extra steps
Safeties, AKA "Asset Protection"

That was probably the best round i've ever got to play in Unity. I formed a collaboration government with Engineering and signed like half the crew into lifetime service contracts. When the Chaplain tried to revolt on the shuttle, we threw grenades into the passenger compartment to 'quiet them down'
Oh, yeah I was that Chaplain I traded with someone killing us both. I think my original plan was to try to get the doors open with the E-sword, then chuck a grenade into the command department, but uhh.. space wind made it come flying back.. So I just poped up and shot in hopes of killing someone, which lead to my death. That was a fun round, even if I was just in the end of it.
I don't feel unified but maybe it takes 12 years of features

I would be really happy if one of these remakes gets far enough to become a better alternative to the half cocaine half drain cleaner that is Byond.
Unitystation is looking like it's going in the right direction

Hey I’ve made a lot of stuff for unity station. Pretty much all the sprites that don’t look like the original TG or that have directional sprites are mine. I also completely redesigned the UI to make it more user friendly But it’s not implemented yet. Sorry they haven’t fixed my lockers yet.
I took a break about 2 months ago because of sprinters burnout. Since then they have literally done nothing as far as sprites go.
I didn't realize new guns, mobs, and UIs was nothing.
@@jacktrachea1309 haven’t seen anything about new UI. But guns and mobs need to be added last. We have the proof of concept for different guns. We don’t need things like the cricket gun from MIB right now. What happened to the new walls?

@@CanadasElite I had to mostly work with autonomy. I had to go around and see what needed to be remade. Idk y but all other sprinters are only interested in making more guns. if it were up to me I would only allow 1 of each type of gun. It’s not like you can have that many different stats for weapons in this game.

How to make the best ss13 remake :
Make the same fucking game 1 to 1 on ANY other engine, done.
Problem is that you have so many codebases and everyone wants their favourite one.
And unity isn‘t that good for that
@@TheExp111 unity is a fine engine and if people want to mod stuff they just have to make a fork. theres just not much to fork at the moment. inevitably unity station will be fleshed out and be a huge improvement as the byond engine came with a lot of limitations

I put a lot of work into that and I can't wait for us to hit 1.0 to see people struggle with it.
It's more like the old style gateways, where you have a puzzle to solve before you can leave.

i play unity station regally so for your complaints
1. glass now breaks
2.punching your self to death now happens less
3.fuel tanks now do explode from bullets
4. now you can remove and add limbs all you want
5. you need a emag to shuttle bomb (to stop shitters)
6. the warp map is shit easily the worst one
I actively avoid Unity station currently. And not just because I make "games" in unity. Partly because its unfinished and dead, but mostly because I have Stockholm syndrome with Byond.
What is dead? Unity or Unitystation?

We also aren't dead, we reach 30-40 players when people decide to be active. Usually afternoons EST

I’m pretty excited for all these things, unity station has no more byond usage, which means no fast things SS3D is just ss13 but 3D (which is still really cool, despite a single graphic change, I like first person stuff that’s why) and space station 14 is just, well a remake.

The shuttles now have asset protection systems ("""safteys"""") which prevent them from stacking into the station, unless you emag the console.

Unity station is cool, but i think ss14 has more potential because sure thing unity is more anus to dev than byond even, while ss14 has byond 2 or something, idfk, maybe woody just dindt get his wood or some shit

Man you are really late to the party. Servers were getting up to 30 people for like a month or two when the alpha first came out. Now everyone is just waiting for more jobs to be finished. By more jobs, I mean any science job. By finished, I mean more than 5%.
