Hey Jon. Subscriber from Sweden here :) Really enjoying your videos. Think I have watched all of them soon :) Any plans to try thrust vectoring on this gripen? Would be really cool to see Best regards
Cheers man, happy to have you onboard! We don't have any plans to bring Gripen back. It is, unfortunately, not built to fly the way we want to fly. If we can find a way to lighten up the airframe and improve control authority, that might change our mind though.
Hi Jon, I started with DX8. Soon moved to NX10. With my F22 Raptor I've run out of channels and I have JAS-39 Grippen and F14 Tomcat waiting to build. If I wait for the purported NX14 will that be enough channels - what is maximum channels you have used to date. Or, do I take the plunge and join you by getting iX20. Will be very grateful for your thoughts.
Hi Tommy! The most I've used is 14. I could go up to 16 or 18 if needed for controlling all aspects of SAFE (pitch / roll gain) and all aspects of AS3X instead of tying pitch and yaw together as I do currently. You'd probably be OK with a 12 or 14 channel transmitter if you're following along with my guides.
Hi Jon. I noticed in many of your videos that your transmitter is giving you the number of fades. What do you feel is the normal range of fades during a typical flight? When do you start becoming concerned that it’s too many? As always, thanks for your advise and keep making these excellent videos which are helping us all learn so much about RC flying.
Frame losses are what you're hearing reported on the radio. I usually don't get concerned unless it's something along the order of 100 losses every 30 seconds. A full flight should be less than 500 overall. I usually add remote receivers to my jets because of how fast they are and how cramped the space is inside of them, so I want to maximize reception quality and ensure I don't lose a jet due to easily preventable reception issues.
hey Jon, new watcher. love the channel and your set ups of the aircrafts. im turning into mostly a turbine flyer, but have the freewing f22 and jas 39 gripen myself... when i fly edfs its usually the gripen. just cant beat it. i may have to try some of your larger throws (at least work into them) so i can get more agility out of it. youve definitely earned a sub from me! keep the awesome content rolling.

We generally don't see a point to adding wing loading to a model just for some additional thrust, so the stock system is fine but a FMS 2100kv Pro would be the likely upgrade.
@@TwoBrosRC that's my thinking. Was weighing up the options of a jetfan 8s 80mm or using my spare fms 2000kv. Will stick with the fms. Would you considering installing the thrust Vector system or just unnecessary?
Hello, enjoying your site! Getting my Gripen soon and thought about your tips. So: Elevator only on the canards? Aileron only on the trailing edge of the main wing? Cg 4 cm back from recommendations? Correct? 🫡

Hi very informative videos on your channel. Can I know what battery you were using I just recently got mine and had trouble flying. I flew with a 6000mah with 2100kv upgraded motor and didnt felt enough power on take off obviously it was a little nose heavy. Can you recommend some improvements its a nice looking jet just not getting a feel for it in the air.
I do this on my f16. Moving the battery as far back as possible makes landings and high alpha awesome

Ok. Thanks for your reply.
is that 40mm behind the recommended CG? So 170mm from the wing leading edge?
Yes.
Did you ever try thrust vectoring on this jet?😮
Never got around to it.
first yes!

Hi Jon what motor upgrade are you thinking for this ? Sticking with 6s power? Cheers

@@M4rkmcc21 When we pick up the Gripen again, it will be with a TV system to really maximize its performance using a lighter weight FMS motor.

It's a bit more complex than that. You should join us on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord and ask in the #tech-and-setup channel!
What are "kah-nards"?
I'm sorry I don't pronounce it the way you do, but the way I pronounce it is considered correct.

Ah, got it. My apologies. The word is canards. They're the stabilizers in front of the wings that move up and down.
I had to do stuff today, so I’m tardy.
That's OK, I intentionally set the premiere so I'd be awake when it showed.

Is it possible to do a cobra manuver with a delta wing? I love the way those tail slides look!
The SAAB Draken was one of the first jets to perform the cobra maneuver, so it's definitely possible.
Awesome flying. What radio are you using?
...
Thanks! I'm using the IX20SE.

A 4000 Spektrum 50c on this one. In future vids we moved to 4000 SMC batteries.
