Very nice demo guys, the Gripen is a sweet looking and flying edf for sure, and the center burner looks great,Chris is a great guy just like you guys are, thanks James!
I ordered one right away, but it's cool to see the flight videos confirm that it's such a nice flying plane. It also looks like a set of gear that can take a beating, like the f22.
It's so impressive to me that James has just a handful of flights on the Gripen, and this is Justin's first day flying at a completely new field, and yet they're both already flying consistent formation passes while also talking at the same time. That's not easy! Thanks for Patrick for flying also and to Alex for flying his chase footage!
Im from Sweden so I love the Jas 39 Gripen of course. But it is so nice in the air, clean lines that I love, like the F16. Good job there Alpha en rest of the team!! And I will order one soon of course. Thanks for the show :-)
I thought i committed on this video already, your getting me more excited guys! Nice to see both going at once! Cant wait to do some of that next month! Hopefully the TV kits will arrive soon for both new releases. The mig will keep us busy this month for sure but dieing to get my hands on this Gripen!!!
Lovely flying guys. With a fully tuned, more aggressive setup (better cg + gyro typically), as well as less wind, this will be pretty darn sweet for sure. The last landing was class. Throttle ftw! Since I've ordered my ARF+ for a turbine setup, I wasn't really too into the TV thing at all, but kinda think I may have to consider it anyway. Pretty darn sure I would be the first foamie turbine conversion with vectoring lol
Justin lamb did a great job with the thrust vectoring gripen that was the other reason I am ordering the vectoring module for my gripen it's not in stock right now but they will email me when it's in and again 👍 Justin lamb great job you sold me on the vectoring for my pre ordered jas-39 gripen.
Awwwwwwwwww I can’t wait to get mine. I agree with Alpha. Both James and Justin have mastered flying the Gripen in such a short time. It has great presence in the air. I love the colour scheme on this one Alpha. Thanks for designing and building this one. 👌🤛. Great video guys. This will keep me going till I get mine. 😁
Motion RC currently locked down over here in Wales 🏴 so more of the same would be most appreciated. Looking forward to the video footage of you , Patrick and Justin flying all the twin 80’s. That must have been awesome 👏 take care fella. 🤛
Another thing too the wind was going the non-preferred way that day where they were likely landing downwind. The field is really short on the other end so tough to land jets from that direction
We used waterslide decals instead of vinyl to make it easier for pilots to simply spray paint right over the stock decals in a few minutes if they don't like the stock livery. That's what most pilots do to effect their own repaints on most of our Freewing jets. We don't plan on making a Base Gray version, since in the past those versions never sell well to justify all the added effort on our part to produce and stock a different color. It's much easier for a modeler to spend a few minutes with a primer gray spray can to prep the model for whatever custom scheme he/she wants. I recommend Tamiya or Rustoleum 2X, applied in light dusted coats. Have fun!
@@alphamrc309 Thanks for the reply and advice, much appreciated. I'd definitely somehow mess it up so I'll pay the local hobby shop to do it if it's only a few minutes. Cheers
GYRO ON CANARDS: I've noticed how the thrust vectoring really compliments this plane especially in high alpha. With that being said, it would probably be more effective in high alpha and WAY more cooler looking with a gyro installed only for the canards. With or without thrust vectoring for that matter.
If a wing is ready to stall and stop flying and you're going into the incipient spin route (wings rocking and eventually one dropping beginning a spin/or a "tip" stall as most R/C guys refer to it as), using ailerons in any form is a definite bad idea. Don't mess with mixes - just use your rudder, keep your ailerons neutral, unload the wing, add power. You'll just aggravate the stall by increasing the angle of attack on the already more stalled wing when you use ailerons. That mix will teach bad habits
James could you publish the throws and mixes I would use with my DX9 or better send a SPM file that I could load. Great flying guys I am excited to get my jet. Regards Adrian
Looks awesome. I think you guys will sell a LOT of these. - Plenty to all of us that just like the looks, and plenty more because it looks pretty squirrely at slow speeds, and I foresee plenty of stalls and crashes from many! - haha 😎😁
We had a windy day for this, and also our pilot doing the TV only flew it a handful of times before filming this. It will be fine once you get used to it
@@410productions3 Well, it looked like you guys did great with it, and it certainly looks like it will be a fun model. (especially with the thrust vectoring) I used to have the old original F-35 with vectoring. It really let you whip that little one around.
I will definitely try to get out with a Gyro on it. But we didn't want to risk the gyro not playing nice with the canard and thrust vectoring mixes on our first flights
@@MotionRC hmm, excellent point I didn't consider. You do have an extr8 channel in the mix for the canards. Now, I know the Spektrum AS3X pretty well but not sure if a canard is even configurable. I would assume it would just be handled by the mix. Maybe start with a really low gain and priorities. But, really...less breezy day and not so much wing rock fighting it. I do love the AS3X for that on EDFs. Bring the priority and gain down about half and smooth things right out. The Gripen is a sweetheart! Looks great and canards and TV give the vets that might be bored something new to get the heart pumping again!
Not without manipulation. This is a molded piece for the Gripen, but a modeler could probably use some of the parts to make it work on the others since the nozzle part is about the same size
All comes to down to meeting the price and size we want to sell this at. More additions would raise the price to a point we feel would be too much for something this jet doesn't need to fly or land well
Man I’ve been looking at this trainer jet from Horizon hard. Dope video. But the dude from Utah isn’t as good as the other guy and needs more practice.
It was 10-20 mph gusts that day. Watch the first flight from our live show where we had no wind and she's fine. Our field is a fish owl in that there is no wind below the trees and a ton up top. But a gyro could smooth that out easy
Very nice demo guys, the Gripen is a sweet looking and flying edf for sure, and the center burner looks great,Chris is a great guy just like you guys are, thanks James!
The Centerburner is top notch!

Totally on point, formation flying is hard!
Well done guys!
I totally agree Alpha! James is ready for Top Gun these days and it is also a testament to your hard work designing great flying jets! 👊🏻
2:59 The visuals and audio of this jet in flight are incredible
Very nice james and Alpha looks amazing as always 💯💯👊👊💯💯
great flying James, and justin
Just received my JAS 39 the other day, thanks for the great price and shipping Motion RC.

Nice flying guys ty..

Thanks Jeremy!
Brilliant flights guys, thought I was watching a 3D Jet at one point 👍🏻
Thanks Chris! Was fun to watch for sure
Nice fly, I’m waiting it. Could you show more low-speed & high angle fly for us. Thanks
Another, why you don’t use another fan 80/12? Jas-39 can get more power.
Another thing too the wind was going the non-preferred way that day where they were likely landing downwind. The field is really short on the other end so tough to land jets from that direction
Yeah, the wind changes almost all the time in our fishbowl. But we adjust and overcome!
Really? It looked like they landed into the wind. It takes BALLS to land a new plane downwind WHILE FILMING.
Looks great. Don't suppose there's any chance they'll be a grey version released with no decals applied? I'm not a huge fan of colourful jets

SO COOL!
Really is 👊. Thanks for tuning in
Wow😧 what happend to the sound at 3:05??? Sounded like a real jetfighter😦
Guess the way the wind went over the airframe coming out of the dive. Sounded even better in person
Motion RC only experienced this with the JAS right, no other Freewing models? In that case, i’ve gotta have one some day😁
Nice
Love it!
JC! Tiny wheels again! Most of the world flies off GRASS!
What the frick that thing looks so dam beautiful!

Got a video coming soon, one that goes over CG and rates, and 1 just for mixing the canards
Am wanting to know what throttle position is used on take off for this JAS-39 gripen

Excellent. If you are confident with those 2 than you are ready for the Gripen

Can this plane takeoff / land on grass and when yes how long is the takeoffway on grass

Any reason this model does not have scale wings with flaps?

can´t believe not a single flip or flat spin with the TV on. Wanted to see the capabilities of the model.
Looks pretty unstable- it definitely needs a gyro or no wind at all
Didn't bother us at all. But to each their own
Man I’ve been looking at this trainer jet from Horizon hard. Dope video. But the dude from Utah isn’t as good as the other guy and needs more practice.
isn't as good as which guy?
Too wobbly and unstable

You want extreme stability in wind? Try a p15 Lippsich! She's a beast!
