Glad I could help! Good choice in my opinion! It is quickly becoming my favorite jet! Hope you have a great maiden! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Not knowing your experience level, I can only tell you how I set mine up and you can start there. If you are getting the Flyfans 70mm I would start with the motion rc Gripen canard setup video. Then dial the throws to 50% on the elevator and on the aileron. If you go with the Freewing 80mm I would start at 60-65% on both elevator and aileron. I personally do not use dual rates or expo on any of my planes. I would use the amount you are comfortable with on most other planes. Good luck, hope this helped. Have a great maiden let me know which one you choose and how it goes. Also don't hesitate to ask if you need more info! Thanks for checkin out the channel!
Great video. Thanks for the comparison. You answered all my questions. Sorry if I missed it in the video, but what times are you getting with a 3300 in the FlyFans? Thanks
I'm not sure I did mention it. With throttle management you can easily get 3 to 3&1/2 minutes. If I am pushing the jet, I may bring it down at 2:45ish. I generally land and have 20 -30% left on the pack. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!
I’ve heard about the motion rc gripen setup video, I finally put mine together again (had some missing parts lol) if I’m on spectrum nx8 for most of my planes you have any thoughts on a reciever?
I like the 8020T. I put them in all of my larger or more expensive planes, sometimes with an extra antenna. Hope you have a great maiden and good luck with your Gripen! Thanks for watching!
@@lewiemotorsports3616 I go a bit nuts on ARFs..... I try to hard to make things perfect and its nearly stressful sometimes. Does that only happen to me?
@@blohundur1881 I would not recommend the Gripen in that case. I would go with a 70mm F-16, they have great flight characteristics. Preferably Eflite or FMS. If not the Freewing is a more budget friendly option. If you are looking for 80mm, again I would go eflite F-16 or 80mm T-7 from XFLY. Let me know what you decide. Good luck!
Nice choice! And yea you do need at least seven channels to mix the aileron and elevators to the canards. I use the 8020T with no safe, but they do sell that as an option. Good luck with it brother!
Agree about the paint scheme for sure! The Freewing flies heavier, and I guess I have to order the entire gear setup. Because I haven't gotten to fly the Freewing since before I released the video because I still don't have the plastic gear door adjustment linkage that fell out. And now the door won't close. HUGE minus if I can't fly it because their pieces fall off!! All I can speak on is my experience, glad you have had good luck! Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great review, glad you gave your honest thoughts on both models. Enjoyed the footage 👍👍

Great video. I have been on the fence on which one of these planes to get. Thanks im going with flyfans.

Awesome stuff! I think I like the Gripen better than the other plane! 😂
Agreed!! The Gripen is definitely the best plane in the video!! The Flyfans might be my favorite jet now!
Never had a plane with functioning canards but I am considering getting this. Anything to look out for with setting up/flying with the canards?

@@redbeardreviewsrc thanks for your response! I may have to get a servo extender for channel 3
@@lewiemotorsports3616 Any time! That is one nice thing about Horizon, BNF is soooooo convenient!
@@redbeardreviewsrc convenient and quick. And you just add your mixing in later! But building true ARF or PNP planes builds character 💪🏽

Going to finally order the Flyfans. Do I need to order a receiver with more than 6 channels, if I want to have SAFE as a backup?

Rippen Gripen!!! Stay safe buddy!!

In terms of scale looks, freewing messed up the front of the plane and Flyfans messed up the back. Nice video by the way
Hadn't noticed the scale discrepancies. Feel free to share them with the viewers! Glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

True, freewing one is heavier. Mine struggles to take off from grass, so I upgraded the edf&esc running on 7s. It flies way better
