My Celica was from highschool. I learned to drive in it. I learned everything from that car. I became a Toyota technician and went on to restore Landcruisers. Welding, upholstery, paint. If it involved fixing up Toyotas, I learned how to do it. Even casted aluminum parts. This RA29 has been in my life since the 1990s. It's three cars in one. Has been in two fires and on it's top. From the firewall foreward is from another Celica. My friend drove it from Fairbanks, AK to Wendell idaho for me. The interior parts were lost in a fire and now it's just a shell again. It's fourth life is getting an inline six from a mark 2 Supra I have a 1UZ but I've decided to make it a mountain trail toy. So 200hp is plenty. It will sit on a box frame I'm building and have lots of squishy travel and a LSD. 02 Nissan Pathfinders have McPherson struts with bolt on spindles...and don't require a cv shaft to hold together, so this Celica will be six lug, discs all around.
@@josephdavis2427 this car is my first car from high school too! I am the 3rd owner since 1998. Such a great first car for any teenager to have and learn to work on. I learned how to, and how not to, work on cars with this car. Glad to hear you are keeping yours alive and going as well. Sounds like quite the journey there. Keep it up! My project stalled waiting for parts for quite a while but is slowly getting going again behind the scenes. Collecting quite the pile of parts lol. Just need Reiger to make my custom suspension and we can finish the cage and suspension so the car can come home for the rest of the prep.
