#AUTOWIT Авто/Мото
Just used this on my wife's 2011 Kia Rondo suv, daughter left the back center light on over 1.5 days.... voltage reading when I plug this to the dead battery was 4.8... it took about 15 minutes to get to 💯 %..... cranked it and blam we were in business.... this thing is awesome....
Awesome review. One thing I found is that after turning the car over, before disconnecting the jump starter look at the voltage on the display. If the voltage is at about 14.4V then the alternator is working fine, but if reads about 13V or so you may need to have the alternator replaced. Kind of a nice thing to know and from there you can proceed however you need to
Thank so much for the tip bro 👍
I recommend it highly, especially for those who don't like to rely on others. I was vacuuming my car and forgot about not fully turning off the car. Got in to take off and nothing 😆 I got this thing from the trunk and hooked it up and waited. Finally heard the fully charged beep and pressed the red small button and the car started 🙌 wow crazy how technology has advanced.
That was a flawless review, you just mentioned everything we need to know. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
I used to carry a lithium jump pack in my car. A few months ago, a coworker had a weak battery. I whipped it out, all excited to use it. The batteries had gone bad, and they expanded and cracked the plastic housing. Luckily, another coworker had jumper cables. I checked the jump pack in my wife's car, and hers was bad too. They lasted 2 years with me checking them and recharging them every few months. Now I carry a capacitor jump pack instead.
what brand was the lithium one? Ive had mine for years and still works fine.
@@carloscampos5469 Type S from Costco.
How's the capacitor jump starter so far? Still reliable?
@@bobomomo3764 didn't have to use it yet. I'm guessing it will at least work as well as a battery pack with defective batteries though.
@@carloscampos5469 I had two lithium packs as well and had the same thing happen. They REALLY don't like heat. I'm sure that's what killed mine.
Got this recently and it is great! Works quickly, no longer have to rely on strangers for a jumpstart!
Great review! I'd love to pick this up when my car gets delivered. Also excited for the reviews you have in the pipeline! Cobb intake and cyl 4 cooling mod, etc. Stoked 👍
Thanks for the video - straight to the point without the BS! 👍
You are the second video i watched on the product and you did a supior demonstration. I will by this product because of your presentation. Great job.
By Far the most comprehensive and instructive video on this product. 5 stars 🌟
this is by far THE BEST video I've seen, I fully understand why it has a charging port.i didn't understand before bc it has no batteries
I've had version 1 of this for a few years and it has worked great. I just bought version 2 as a gift and I cannot get it to work at all. As far as I can tell, there is no 'override' function on version 2, which is a key feature of this product. The 'override' feature allows you to use this product like any other battery to start anything with or without a battery, for example, a lawn mower that has no battery at all, or a car that has a completely dead battery. Without 'override', this new version will not do anything, because apparently it requires a certain amount of voltage in order to discharge. I guess I could carry around another battery to fool it, but with version 1 you just pressed the override button. Do not get version 2! Version 1 is the one you want.
Ummm....i have had both versions 1 and now version 2...BOTH work just fine...
@@tamjeanell umm does it have override though
@@truthhurts2149 Override? Not sure what version u are asking that for. The 2nd version is better than the first in my opinion, its easier to use..
Well done review. You answer any question I had. Excellent demo of process.
Great review! Straight and to the point. Thanks.
Bought the SuperCap 1 a couple years ago and it was fantastic. Gave it used to one of my sons for his birthday and he said it was a "LIFE SAVER." Only negative thing about the Cap 1 was that it didn't have a case; whereas, the Cap 2 does and a nice one at that. The SuperCap Lite is just as efficient as the Cap 1 & 2.
This was my go to Channel for anything WRX hope getting one in the next few months
Very good and comprehensive demonstration, thank you.
Thanks great demonstration. I watched it with my wife. We have AAA but hey sometime there say we are so busy maybe an hour of two. I ordered one. I’ll still keep the old long cable jumpers in the trunk.😊
Excellent review sir! Thank you so much!
Hey guys, I have just used mine to 're start' a 'completely dead' Toyota hybrid battery. It was left in garage for three weeks and 'cannot even boost the autovit'!!. What I did can help others. I parked my car as close as possible to his car, then allow autovit to be charged up in my cig lighter. When it reaches full capacity (100%), quickly re attach to fail battery and press button for restarting his battery. It worked!! Even on a completely dead battery. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!
Thanks for the heads up.
I bought one a year ago, and last week my car would not even show dash lights. Hooked up Autowit, took about 3 minutes or so to charge, and then cat started. Worked for me!!!
Excellent review. I don't drive often or far, so my battery often is unable to crank, so I use this a lot.
I received one of these as a Christmas gift. Hope I never need it but great to have in the trunk of my Outback XT!
Whats the fun of not needing it?
If you have only one car, this tool is essential. Once or twice a year I find my battery dead. (Most recently because I hadn't started my SUV in a couple of weeks.) I've got another car so, with minimal interruption, I can continue on my way and when it's convenient, put the dead battery on a charger. Or I can call AAA, which usually takes 40 minutes or so. I had recently purchased the Autowit Supercapcitor when this unexpected dead battery was served. I put the Autowit to the test. It worked like a charm. So, again, if you have only one car, don't think twice. As far as I'm concerned, for the trouble it can save you, (imagine if you were on your way to the airport, or a job interview!) it pays for itself the first time you use it. The more expensive kit is worth it for the amply protected carrying case. Things have a way of knocking around in a trunk.
Got one and does what it says...it works! Beats being stranded...
Thanks for making this video on a Subaru! I’m watching this for my Subaru too!
Thank you for your information.
I just bought one for my daughter. Great to have.
Very good presentation.....Thank you.
After sitting in my trunk for over a year, I finally got to use it. It did what it was supposed to do in less than 4 minutes.
1:59 demonstration of how it all works. Great vid, thank you sir!
Just subscribed... thank you kindly for the information...
Thanks B&S. Great job. Good info. God bless.
Thank you is very helpful that happened today to me and it was under heavy rain 🌧 but I did 🤝
Great video, thank you.
They should test the product when the weather is -39. Even though the specification says -40 it'll work but test the unit in a real-world setting.
Awesome review I have also purchased two of these for each of my vehicles I am going to share this RUclips video with my kids so they know how to use this Jumpstarter thanks
Where can you purchase and how much? Thanks
@@franka.3793 Gadget plus is where I purchased mine from
Thanks for the video.
This is the coolest thing ever I just ordered one. I saw other similar products but with lithium batteries which didn’t make sense for my use. I want to just throw it in my car and forget it until I need it.
great! I'm going to get one!
Wow didn't know that as for me I did start the car I just waiting for it to go 100% it didn't even bleep and it started the car thanks for the video now I 🙃know how to use it properly now
super helpful anbd thorough use cases. Exactly what I wanted before pulling the trigger. enjoy the affiliate commission :)
The product is superb, as long as the battery is not dead: otherwise it won't detect it and no pressing the button to start the help
One trick Scotty kilmer showed, is when you oeave ot connected while engine ia running. If you see 14-14-9 volts on the device. You inow your alternator still worke. Handy tip! No other channel has pointed this out
Good info
Well done
not many reviewers note that after the car starts you can see on the screen if your alternator is putting out enough voltage to recharge the battery...it should be at least14
Great review. Im replacing an old school booster and hope this will work for me. My question is my 2013 ford escape has the battery in a horrible location (above the firewall under the windshield area so replacing it or accessing it not as easy as most cars. When charging this car I have to use a negative point under the hood as the negative post is completely inaccessible without some work. If I were tonuse this product I would have to connect the red to the battery and the black to the ground point , would it still work? Im assuming it would as this is how boosting with any other (regular) method is done but I was hoping for confirmation.
By far the most informative review of this product. Most definitely a "thumbs up"! What is the brand of the power bank that was used in your demonstration at timestamp 00:04:49?
I would also be curious to know how many mAh of the powerbank is used to charge up the SuperCap from 0-100%
When you had to use a supplemental device to charge the Autowit, how long will it hold that 100% charge? More than a few minutes?
I didn't get that case with my Autowit SuperCap Lite!
🐊🇵🇷🦅👍
yeah they are doing everything they can to bring that price down for a bare bones unit!
Great review. They need to make a larger version for semi trucks . That would be super helpful for me.
Would I need a bigger one for my Cummins pickup??
Just looked up and answered my own question, it's apparently useless for diesels over 4 litres?
I was about to ask if someone tried it on a semi.
anyone give the BUTURE SC10 a spin? while I think 3000A is exaggerated (this is nearly 4x the Autowit SuperCap 2!), it does claim to start up to 8.5L diesel (10L gas)
Make sure to drive it for several hrs to top off the battery to keep that Panasonic battery conditioned or charge it overnight
fantastic......it's so weird what they've now come up with, 30 and 40 years ago we had nothing like these kind of jumpers. absolutely amazing
An even better sales point is that you can store it in your car even when it's hot. It would be dangerous to store a jumper with a real battery in your hot vehicle.
Lithium packs are safe in hot cars they would not be allowed to sell them otherwise
@@robbiewilson157 Depends on what type of 'lithium' battery is inside the jump-starter. Lithium-ion/Lipo batteries start to go into thermal runaway at about 60ºC (140ºF). LiFePO4 is safe up to much higher temperatures because it doesn't 'cook off' until over 220ºC (at which point the interior of your car would already be melting!).
heat decreases the longevity of the batteries either way. another poster said their batteries were shot within 2 years due to the heat. I get the impression if supercaps last even half (5 of 10 years they claim), one will come out ahead replacement wise.
@@udance4ever I bought one and I'm glad I did. Works like a charm!
@@RealmanPwns right on - glad to hear it! I took the jump & gettin my supercap tmrw & gonna return the GB20 I got last fri that is still boxed!
This saved my butt two times the past few months. Had a car battery that was dying - first time jumping it I was able to run it for another month, then I had to jump it one more time but I could tell the battery was dead (car refused to start again).
But having this available where I can basically limp my car to the nearest car parts store and/or place that can replace my battery without needing a tow is great.
I have the supercap 2 but could not get a car with some battery left that light in dash would turn on but would not start with the cap. The car had the auto start/stop system does that mean does not work with those caind of vehicles.
What kinda and rating capacitor are used in them
Very high current. Does it have short circuit protection?
How many people have power pak for cell phone charging?
Could you use this to start a car with 6 volt system?
Pro Tip:
After you get your vehicle started, disconnect and reconnect the capacitor and if it’s reading between 13-14 volts, then you know your alternator is still 👍
can it be used to keep the computer live while replacing the battey?
Trick the shorting resistor to start up a dead battery!
I bought this product and I found it won't start up with a completely draind battery.
But search the video title on RUclips,
"StartUp Engine with Autowit SuperCap2 & Smartphone without Car Battery"
I hope you should try this way before you throw away this product!!
What is a reliable power pack?
Great Review thank you 👍
Can it be left in the vehicle in sub-zero weather??
The Vermonter
I don't see why not considering it's rated to work at -40F
Its good battery jump starter
Imagine the bang & flash that thing will make when some dipslit touches the two leads together after that big capacitor is completely charged!
I got my autowit last week my batter died on my it works but wen it got to 99% I was waiting a minute and more it still was in 99% and it didn't say power on I only push the button and that's it is strange ?
Would you still recommend this unit?
Someone below discussed a manual car can be roll started down a hill. My old 79 Celica could be even without a battery in it. More Modern cars with computers have to have at least a partial charge. My 91 Sentra manual for instance could not be roll started with a dead battery. Just something to keep in mind. Also the capacitor model shown CAN be charged before stowing just like a lithium pack; if it were mine I would maintain it like that and check it like a lithium pack. When you're having a car electric problem you will want every amp hour you can get!
it wouldn't be practical to maintain - the capacitors will lose their charge within 24 hrs - 2 of the selling points are (1) they don't keep a charge thus safer stowed in yr car and (2) you don't have to top it off regularly so it is closer to "maintenance free"
How much capacity iis..totally
Sounds good but how long can the car crank before the unit capacitors die?
this is the disadvantage, it's not long - only like 2-3s from another video I watched that really put it to the test alongside lithium packs!
Interesting because you had to use a, "PowerPack" (a traditional lithium battery charger) in order to actually get this product to work since the battery to be charged was completely dead. So, since these capacitor based chargers do not hold an internal charge, if you want to use it to charge your phone say, stranded, emergency (or in a power outage - unless you go out to the garage and use your car to charge it...?!?), you're SOL. I wonder if any "Hybrid" based Charger solutions have been considered...??
Never had to jump my car that also had a stick shift. Always found myself parked on same type of incline when my battery died. Roll it downhill pop the clutch and away I went.
Will this work just as fine in below freezing temperatures? (winter)
they claim -40F!
Does this work in a situation where the car battery is completely out of charge and reads 0v?
that's what he shows @3:50 - u have to use another power source (one of the disadvantages)
Once it's charged will it hold its charge until it's discharged or overtime does it slowly lose the charge?
There's no need to charge the Autowit, unless the vehicle battery is completely drained.
@Mr10Residentevilfan how you plug it to a wall mine only came with 12 volt to cig lighter port in car, and USB only.
@@caseymyhro3769 If it's completely drain it will not work, I'm talking 0 to 2 % i seen it work like 5 and up to 7%
The Autowit 2 capacitors will slowly lose their charge in 2 to 4 days. The unit isn't designed to hold a charge for a long period of time, unlike a lithium ion battery pack/jump starter.
So it will last ten years with "normal" use or just ten years period? In other words, what if you only use it two times during a ten year period? I'm assuming it's based on a certain number of charge/discharge cycles.
Yeah if it's not used much I bet it lasts much longer than ten years.
Being a supercapacitor, it's good for a million or so charge/discharge cycles; the ten years is probably for the delicate circuitry inside the box.
I bought this and came in today. Did not work at all. I did just as you did on this video. Finally I Pre charged it from another source and still didn’t jump start. Maybe I got a faulty one.
that's what i thought that I had a faulty one too, my battery was completely dead it didn't work. than i charge my dead battery with a big charger i have but not all the way I put it back in SUV and try the auto-wit now it beep and the ten beep that it suppose to do before the long beep that tell you to start your car. so i know its not a faulty one but it won't work on a complete dead battery. its good if your battery still has some juice in it,, but i need something to start my car and get me out of a situation fast.
What’s the max dc voltage input for charging it? Is 16v too much?
Can advise if it was tested on a truck, Ford F-250 Heavy Duty?
It is able to handle heavy duty vehicles as well as Diesel engines.
It only works on up to 7.0 liter gas and 4.0 liter diesel engines.
the BUTURE SC10 claims 10L gas & 8L diesel if u need more oomph
If you are at a home can this be charged at electric outlet at home?
You need a wall wart to supply 5 volts.
you absolutely can using a USB cube.
My Nissan battery was fully dead and it said low battery and I no where to charge the jumpstarter 💀
the product said it has no internal batteries. I wonder when it's being charged, where all the electrics are being stored? Does it mean charging this autowit all electrics temporarily store in super capacitors?
The capacitors inside
If you can find another way to charge it when you have a battery much below 11 volts you would be ok. My luck would be no optional power available. Novel way to do it when you have another charge option for sure.
Does not work on bmw diesels especially if you live in a colder country, bought this and it failed me 15 sec is not enough juice time for my car tried 6 times in a row and no life, went back to a regular jumpstarter, i just charge it daily then keep it in my car in winter then bring it inside to recharge now rince and repeat.
So you can't have it charged ahead of time, it won't hold the charge?
yup. no charge is the "safety" selling point!
It will only hold a charge for maybe just a day or two but you can charge it up at home or with a cigarette lighter adapter in a car with a good battery and it’ll be usable for a days worth of emergency jumping, just not more than maybe a day or two in trunk storage on a full charge…
I wouldn't call that completely dead, my battery was completely dead 2% than 0, it didn't charge so i charge the auto-wit , still wouldn't work i guess the lowest it can charge is up to 5%.... i left the inside lights on overnight .kill the battery comepletely.
Where can i buy one?
Amazon
How long could you drive for after this item jumps your battery?
If your alternator works as it should, which is supposed recharge the battery while engine is running, it should last a while.
If alternator is bad, then the car isn’t going very far because the ECM/ECU(brain/computer) & other electrical components like the fuel pump will quickly drain the battery.
How do you open the damn box it comes in? Show this in slow motion not fast forward you did in begining of video
I think this thing lasts longer then only 10 years if you don’t need to do juice it up like all those others
wut, why did u take it off, let it stay connected to charge up, u took it off at 57%, battery still had 5v charge, do u even kno how to use this?? ur suppose to let it sit till 100%
Your alternator cannot properly charge your car battery. If it was dead, you have to hook it up to an actual charger, so might wanna buy a combo here...
Just one thing. Negative off first on Last.
It’s cool but a hassle if you car is totally dead 💀
Any product that was given to a tester for a free review I don't take seriously. If the product is really good the company doesn't have to give out free units for a review.
