Thank you for your straight ahead no nonsense video - it is so refreshing not to be yelled at. I have Session Acoustic 1 and came here because I finally read the manual and realized there is a whole lot of stuff that a hacker like me could benefit from if I just took the time. Now I have another version to deal with!
I have both the versions of Strummed Acoustic, and they are great sounding, but I thought they would make the new one more versatile by letting users simply create their own patterns with the tap in feature, not just searching for something that may or may not be there. I think this would be a very good update to make it more useable if they can do it.
Yeah, without down strum key, up strum key, custom voicings, etc. it's a deal breaker for me. GD-6 from Acoustic Samples has that stuff. I really love the sound. The only problem (and it is a big one for me) is that it can only play plectrum (no fingerstyle playing). It's hard to find a virtual guitar that has everything I want.
Es realmente increíble, tengo la versión 1 y ya me dejó boquiabierto. La uso mucho y con grandes resultados. Sin duda compraré también esta nueva versión. Gran tutorial! Saludos desde España.
Couple years back i purchases a guitar plugin and i was so disappointed. I really needed guitar for some of my tracks and saw this plugin. I purchased after hearing some tracks and holy cow i love it so far.
I did so, but I am much disappointed: Hhas only several patterns you have to manage. No way to build your own patterns, just so few patterns and hardly 3 or 4 you can use! It is a kind of robbery...
wow! i was looking for something like "virtual guitarist" that I used to use 10 years ago. Now i and to get back producing and just found this video. Im in love with this software and with this song. We could compose together! I'd love to sing something on this base! Subscribed! s2
I agree, not all songs start immediately with strumming. Id like to start picking a few single notes that lead into a strum and it appears you cant do that with strummed acoustic, and what if I wanted to add a picked start somewhere in the song. Fix it and you would have a great software
Hi Matt. Thanks for a VERY good instruction video, becuse you explain everything in a slow and understandable way. Is there a way to contact you for further questions or tutorial videos..? Your kindly Hans dos Santos, Denmark
Great overview, Matt. I found the playback realistic until 8:13, when you could really hear the pitch slide in an artificial way. Is that because you didn't use the D# Open String method ideally, or is it a hard-bound limitation that prevents even this virtual instrument from sounding real? Thanks!
Hi, I assume it's due to the MIDI programming --> Adding the Open String key or shifting the transition back or forth by a 16th note might do the trick..
Currently, I use Strummed Acoustic and send an aux to Guitar Rig which allows me to choose the appropriate amp simulator to compliment the particular style in which I'm trying to accomplish. I think I'll continue to do the same once I upgrade to Strummed Acoustic 2.
Very, very fine sounds! Can I use it in all DAWS? Can I use it with several normal Midikeyboard with USB? Thanks and musician greetings Peter Bengelmann
This runs inside of Kontakt 7 (a sampler) which is free from Native Instruments. That would work in any legitimate DAW and any USB midi controller will work.
In a software called "Strummed" you wanna play single notes? There are many options out there for finger/pick. This is for strummed chords and rhythms.
This one doesn't have it either. Amplesound has single notes and strumming in the same library and they have 3 sampled guitars. They also have the option to build your own strum patterns from scratch, as opposed to relying on prearranged patterns like this one. There's also Orange Tree Samples and Ilya Efimov and they both offer single notes and strum pattern building. Another one is 8dio with many acoustic guitars, mandolin, electric guitar, all single notes and strumming. In my opinion Native Instruments Strummed Acoustic 1 and 2 sound best, with the drawback that you cannot make your own patterns and can't use single notes. As always watch reviews on youtube for all of them, listen to demos and only then make a decision :) Another plus for Amplesound is that you can download demos and try before you buy. They are not based on Kontakt sampler so you can actually demo the VSTs beforehand.
I have Strummed Acoustic (but never use it to be honest for the same reason) I also bought this plug in that DOES allow you to pick from single note patterns. This is the link www.musiclab.com/products/realguitar/info.html
Hi, Thanks for the great overview video. I don’t see the colored keyboard on the app or plugin interface as shown in your video. I also don’t have an S keyboard, so I need to display the color map. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
My drum plug in that I can't say enough good about is from Steven Slate SSD4. You can drag and drop into your session and customize in any fashion you want. I absolutely love this plug in. You can pick your kits, it has mixer for each drum piece etc. To me it is far better sounding than anything Toontrack has come out with also (I have them both).
Hi Matt. Thank you for this excellent tutorial. PLEASE, can you share the MIDI file of the example song you feature here? This would be hugely instructive, a way to examine and emulate the subtle tricks you're employing. Native Instruments fails to provide any such example files, which I find completely baffling.
can anyone tell me if i can have custom chords in the auto chords section? i cant seem to find anything to do that.. Also what does the lock unlock stand for in the autochords section>? Am i missing something here?
Great tutorial, really need this. I guess it's redundant to ask, but is there an option to play single frets as well, as in creating solos on top of the strummed chords? Thanks!
Hey matt does this software have finger picking style available? I would love to hear that, but Im pretty sold on it. Better than the 1st one, so Im glad I waited till an improved version came out
kiran phalke there’s no Indian classical rhythm with 7/4 time signature may be folk rythym. Roopak taal is 7/8 and dadra is 6/8 kehrwa is 4/4. It’s harder to use plugins like this in classical music I think a real guitar is easier. If you find a good guitar which suits Indian/Punjabi style of music, let me know it will helpful for me. For western music it’s all 4/4. Ballads uses Dadra or 6/8. There’s no song exists with 7 matra but it’s super common in Indian culture.
This is a great tutorial. However, I'm disappointed by the plugin's choice of rhythms. There are way too many muted patterns yet no straight-forward 4/4 style strum patterns e.g. like a "Constant Craving", "Harvest For The World" etc. I've tried adapting some of the rhythms but it just doesn't work well
But how do I get the lights on my komplete kontrol s88 mk2 to light up so I can use keyswitching?? Recrded with acoustic 2 last night and it was so difficult to change from the pattern to a single strum at the end of the phrase. I hate being so illiterate with this tech.
yes they have to be downloaded in native access. Native access is a bit confusing in that it actually installs it for you while it somehow make you think that it only downloaded it. I suggest that you download the a free utility from NI called "Komplete Kontrol". KK will show up under your Plug-ins, in your DAW and your "strummed acoustics 2" will be accessible from it. very useful intuitive tool indeed.
@@dawin6710 Thx it finally corrected itself somehow. Works fine now .I recently got the Session picked acoustic trying to figure out how to get patterns in a track. I dont use a midi keyboard

It's sample-based. You'd only be able to make your own patterns if it was a physical modelling engine.
