- Kenneth Mosley asks Bishop Carlton Pearson the tough questions about losing his church and being labeled at heretic by his peers.
Carlton Pearson
After college at the Oral Roberts University in Tulsa Oklahoma he served for 15 years on its Board of Regents, and two years as Associate Evangelist of The Oral Roberts Association, (ORA).
In 1977, Pearson founded Higher Dimensions Ministries (now New Dimensions ), in Tulsa, which grew to over 5,000.
Bishop Pearson was consecrated to the office of Bishop in 1996 thru a College of Bishops headed by Bishop Charles E Blake, presently the Presiding Bishop of the Churches of God In Christ, the denomination he was raised in and through whom he was ordained in 1971.
In 1993, Carlton married the former Gina Marie Gauthier who is a professional Life Coach and Yoga teacher.
More recently, he has felt a passion to proclaim the "Gospel Of Inclusion" and has written a widely acclaimed book by that name, published by Simon and Schuster. It confronts the Christian church's exclusivism as being inconsistent, in spirit with the teachings of Jesus.
Pearson's frank and often controversial take on a number of different subjects has earned him appearances on television programs such as NBC and MSNBC's Dateline, ABC's Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, BET Tonight with Tavis Smiley, The Edge with Paula Zahn and Politically Incorrect with Bill Maher, The Monique Show on BET, and a number of other television, radio and print media outlets. Bishop Pearson was recognized as one of America's 10 Most Influential Black Ministers by Gospel Today and Belief.net. He has received several honorary doctoral degrees.
Bishop Pearson recently served as the Interim Senior Minister at Christ Universal Temple in Chicago. He and Gina now host New Dimensions of Chicago, building a local multi-cultural and radically Inclusive spiritual community that emphasizes expanded consciousness and Self Actualization. His newest book, God Is Not A Christian, Nor A Jew, Muslim, Hindu...God Dwells With Us, In Us, Around Us, As Us was published by Simon and Schuster and released in the spring of 2010.

Carlton.. I don't know much about your teachings but I admire your brilliant mind and communication...I sometimes stutter and I just admire the way u can eloquently convey your thoughts and the way you dissect words. How can I become a better not perfect but just better. . thank you
10 years ago, I wouldn't have agreed with him. But his life has spoken volumes - the way he has carried himself through trauma, isolation, suffering, etc has been far more influential than his sermons of the past. What he says is also enlightening - he was sick of the belligerence of fundamental Christians, the way they were unable to carry out scholarly and spiritual discussions. "We don't have to go along to get along." If we judge truth by the behavior and witness of people, then I must say it's his opponents that seem in error.

tamara you don't get it, herectical doctrine should not be tolerated at any level, for the necessity of the purity of the church. This is called church discipline which we don't see practice in today's modern church. Love is not without truth, and it sad that nominal Christians rather forsake the application of truth commanded by our Lord, just show pity and false spirit of victimhood to the one who have deliberately chosen to defy the written Word of God no matter how pious one may feel. Holiness, sanctification, and the persuit of perfection is a Christian highest priority, therefore we must put difference between clean and unclean no matter the level of rejection one may receive, for it is necessary that he suffer the greatest reproach, that by his shame he may come know the error of his way and repent. He has allowed his own scholarship to lead him away from the counsel of the head of the church(Jesus). 10 yrs. ago you wouldn't believe him and even today do not believe him, because word do not change nor in any age will it ever change. Emotional Sensationalism and love without truth does not justify any man or women to add or take away from the gospel once delivered to the saints. However, the church response to Mr. Pearson is in fact in accordance to the Word of God, where the Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Galatians said " I marvel that you are so soon remove from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel; which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preach unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have receive, let him be accursed. For do I now persuade men or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I please men, I should not be the servant of Christ (Galatians 1:6-10). If ministers or Christians are not determine to guard the truth of the gospel that have been once and for all delivered to the saints they are not the servants of Christ. Finally, here is the truth of the matter that will test every man profess faith. The bible says "If we say that we have fellowship with him(Christ), and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: (1 John 1:6). Be not deceive, we are living in the last hour, the cup of iniquity is almost full, then will God gather his church without spot or wrinkle. God bless us all!!!........ Brother Wesley
Tamarahope77 so I’ve read the long comment left by the minister and my thing is this do we go by Paul’s approach or do we go by Christ’s since we are so dead set on so called living by the word bc Christ said with love and kindness have I drawn the and no matter the sin great or small we can come to him! His job is not to condemn but yet that’s what Paul is telling us to do that doesn’t teach what was taught to him thru his walk with Christ. But what we have to understand is we don’t know exactly what Paul was taught especially if we’re going by the Bible bc it has been rewritten so many times! So how do we know if we are reading is remotely close to what was really taught then. I said that to say this why do you call him a heretic bc he’s saying Jesus died for all people sin and bc of that he don’t believe you have to be save bc when Jesus died it made it official you’re automatically saved. But where is the wrong? Y’all crucifying him like he said Jesus is not real and God is not real now then I could understand the level of how you’re handling him. How do we know that he’s wrong? Did God himself, not Bible, not the theologians but God himself tell YOU that what Bishop is saying is wrong? I don’t want to hear scripture I know them my question is did you and others thru fasting and praying about this heat from God himself saying Bishop Pearson’s theory is incorrect? I’m curious to know the answer I can almost go ahead and answer it for you the answer is no! Why bc like many other bishops and pastors that has shunned this man didn’t go to God they only fought with theology, scriptures but did they seek God concerning this thing?! I don’t agree with no devil theory no hell but I wouldn’t be mad if neither existed they would not be missed.
@@antoinettebrown24 I haven't followed Carlton Pearson over the years, but my understanding, just based on his close affiliation with Oral Roberts is very telling. Wasn't he a proponent of the "word of faith" message alla Copeland, Hagin, Dollar et al? That in itself WAS preaching another gospel and is heretical. So the natural course if not altered would have been to spiral downward. The same will be the case regarding all of the hyper-charismatic (word of faith) leaders. It is possible that he followed more along the lines of Kathryn Kuhlman who was not a "word of faith" teacher, and if that was the case, I'd be surprised.
This whole interview was so wonderful and enlightening. This is what was needed. Maybe more will understand. They did Jesus the same way; one week they yelled Hosanna to the King and the next week the same crowd yelled crusify Him. We are so flaky. But Jesus only gave us one commandment; TO LOVE one another. Love covers all. Also I would like to comment on the enterviewer Kenneth Mosely; what a sweet and humble spirit.
Bishop Pearson I have loved you since I first laid eyes on you. I don't mean that in a sexual way, but a spiritual way. Your anointing kept me coming back to your telecast. I met my wonderful husband around the time you and Mrs. Gina got married. We would watch you on TV every chance we got and then you were gone. We searched the internet and found you and learned what had occurred. We want you to know that did not change what we feel for you. It's an awful hard thing that your family had to endure but like you said "time and the calendar will heal all your pain". You and Gina are in our thoughts and prayers and we will always love, support, and stand by you. So much more I want to say but I would be writing a book. Wish my husband and I could talk to you. Please post how we may contact you. We will never forsake you. We believe the hand of the true and living God is upon you. God continue to strengthen you.
Sheol, Hades, Gehenna and Tartarus... You have to carefully study the Etymological, Historical and Biblical usages of this words... if you're brave enough to challenge your traditional belief... don't just stick on the translations of these words as "Hell"... this is a good start for those who wants to dig deeper in the faith! I agree too. I feel God's energy and wisdom. I get emotional everytime I think about what I know about God. I know the answers to the questions that I had since I was a little girl. I am consciously aware of what I do and say and Im not quick to judge my appearances. When I found out the truth about God(not from what I was taught from the bible or preachers), my way of thinking has changed. This is priceless. I love life!!!

To be lost in religious dogma & traditions will not take us to higher dimensions. I remember searching for TMH and was told in my spirit that “He is not here. He’s on the next level” I was floored! And then understood why it wasn’t as easy as before to slip ever so easily into His awesome presence!
Father will take us places we never dreamed possible but we have to be willing to let go of “Business as usual” to get uncomfortable in a place or realm we’re not accustomed to.
Change can be unnerving even kinda scary, but once you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt the TMH is there, you’ll be a’rite.
Bishop Pearson I not only love you, but I LIKE you!!! Stay blessed, remain focused ....the rest, hopefully, will catch up.

Friendly or Kind would work. Not hate, slander, harassment or bullying that will enhance anger cause you've never done any harm to anyone else.
He has recognized the false teaching of the New Testament a d contradictions, and is trying to make sense of it. There he was left to develop what make sense to him.
They beat down on Carlton the same way they at down on Jesus for not seeing the Torah as Jesus explained it. Jesus did not try to defend his stance because he knew that 'truth does not have to fight to be right'. You have to be brave to tell your truth. It is true though that Bishop Pearson needed to hear more about his new belief, study it more, get more truths before going public and even so 'let his light shine before men' and only tell who asks.
Having said that, I have learnt that there is a hell; not in the same way these fundamentalists preach it but there is a hell. I think Bishop needs more from the spiritual dimension about that and how it works underlined by God's universal laws of compensation, wrapped up in love.
He did not start nothing new I'm 43 and the churches I been too preach grace saved by faith and the truth what God did
The contradiction that I see is that It appears that you're saying no one is lost so there is no mission to reach the lost, because there is no lost. What does it matter if you tell them or not?
It's just hard to ignore what Jesus said to the disciples that all who say, "Lord Lord" shall not enter into the kingdom and that he is going to tell them, "Depart from me, ye cursed in everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels!" They will ask why and he will say, "I was naked and you clothed me not,hungry and not feed me and sick and in prison and ye visited me not."
They will also ask hen did they see in these conditions and he will answer back, "When you did it not to the least of my litte ones, you did it not unto me...so they will also ber where there's weeping and gnashing of teeth. All I'm saying that's a big risk to assume that and not know for sure..we're talking unquenchable fire and tthe second death!

Carlton,how can you say you love Jesus and not preach his cross.!! I was in your church!! Jesus says unless you believe in me you will die in your sins what about that!! What about hagins trip to hell,bill weis and mary baxter these are warnings to you!! Do you not see that!! john 14:6 ??? does that mean nothing to you.you used to preach it!!
