Never break up with someone with a temper, when you’re alone. During my divorce, my attorney advised me to never be alone with my estranged husband. Even my attorney picked up on his violent temper.
She needed to leave, go to a safe place, and never go back. RIP.

Yeah, I'm pretty convinced OP killed her in a fit of rage because he had deep-seated (and very understandable) complexes from having his legs amputated at age 11 months.
Reeva's mother said they never had sex, and one can see they paraded each other at celebrity events. If these words from an angry and bereaved mother are true, it looks overwhelmingly like Reeva just wanted them to be friends while being a "celebrity power couple". That way they both got more media attention and more money.
In the end her extra fame got her a lot of attention (also from other men), and I think that probably nudged her to stop the fake relationship in favor of her "next step" toward take financial care of her aging parents.
This same issue (being replaced) must have eaten at OP's mind, especially with his tragic mental issues. He probably felt a lot of rage about being replaced by a "normal" man ... and I can't blame him for that. He seemed to live his whole life trying to prove he was just as capable as any other man (hence playing normal rugby with prosthetics in high school, and forcing the IOC to allow him to race against "normal" athletes).
I really feel for the guy and his issues, but he should obviously never have shot her. It ended her life and his. It would have been better if he had accepted his tragic limitation at a young age, which would have allowed him to develop spiritually and emotionally, which would have led him to find a woman who could really love him and support him. In that scenario I doubt he would have become a famous, game-changing athlete, but he would have found peace.

I never believed Oscar Pistorius’ story that he thought there was an “intruder” in his home. Never believed his story and never will. And shooting at the bathroom door 4 times??? Nah, he could have gotten up and looked to see if in reality there was a stranger inside his home. It is ashamed that this lady Reva died, she was a very beautiful woman with her whole life ahead of her, and he was a very jealous and obsessed man who resorted to murdering her. And I believe he got a “pass” when it came to his prison term. He should have been sentenced to life in prison ......but just 6 or 8 years that he got? It is outrageous and disgraceful. A true miscarriage of justice. Reva was sentenced for life!!! A human life was lost, doesn’t that count for something??? But every country has its own laws and rules but it sucks that he only has to spend so little time in jail because of his wealth and money. Shame on him. I hope this case is an eye opener to any woman out there who might want to get involved with him. Oscar Pistorius has “issues” and a “very bad temper.” He should have anger management sessions with a mental health professional. He disgust me.

OP was very particular about security. His home was in a very well guarded gated community w/heavy security personnel, his home was loaded w/security system. And his story was that he thought an intruder was hiding in his toilet, and shot through the door in fear for his life.... He had argument w/gf, he comes after her (and yes he can fast w/t the prosthetic legs), she locks herself in toilet w/her cellphone. His frustration increases, grabs 1 of his guns, loads and fires 4 shots. She’s stuck in a tight space, it’s like shooting fish in a barrel. He doesn’t belong in prison, he belongs under it.

@@gailwaters814 i like that someone develops their position a bit in full sentences (sorry for falling short here; I'm typing on a small fon here between other jobs.
I'm not much invested in the case. my basic interest in these cases is about a response to social media bullying: what kind of response do people expect from a falsely accused innocent person to help his case.
to my surprise, i found many murder mysteries easy to solve as an intelligent impartial outsider. occasionally i found later confirmed that i was correct or largely correct. so I got interested why so many people were highly invested in obviously false solutions, which would have typically made them part of a lynchmob not long ago. here are factors i commonly found:
      1. overstating certainty is rampant. such posters almost never state any credentials, even anecdotal ones.
      2. people tend to start of with a narrative along ideologicsl lines, then look for confirmation, again along ideologicsl lines. they post their views among posters of similar bias. however, outside of professionals and the rare high IQ poster, there are almost never indicators that these biases are reflected at all.
      3. arguments contain very few, often poorly checked or contextualized facts but massive elaboration.
      4. i almost never see evidence to contradict the poster's assumptions considered.
      5. people have no noticable fear to falsely accuse someone.
      6. when it turns out conclusively that they were mistaken, i almost never see any of them apologize or correct their position.
i believe that I notice these points because my lives needs have cultivated diametrically opposite reflexes. i assume these people's lives and ressources are probably not dependent on finding counterintuitive truths as much as social approval, something i, obviously, have little faith in.
i do not care to win this argument and will say if i made a mistake. however, I would be interested to learn, if you care to share, how you honestly feel about my objections and if you would allow that they could pertain to your argument to any degree.
to zoom out, my real interest is whether pursuit of truth has any merit in protection against false accusations.
I'm considering whether it is not really just a trap because it tends to want you to engage and persuade when that is really pointless and one should focus on intimidation, obfuscation and evasion.... ie a falsely accused innocent person should maybe behave more like a guilty person to be safe from bullying, losses and violence?

Yet he stopped firing after 4 shots. Maybe OP just blacked out of anger and didn't know what he was doing. Meaning he saw black. It's still a mystery. Let's go on OP's word. @@johncannonnhThere is some evidence suggesting that Oscar's relationship with Reeva was incredibly toxic. Oscar withheld his second phone from the police and only gave it to them when he deleted the messages he sent to Reeva. Reeva's autopsy showed that she was incredibly stressed moments before she died. Reeva's clothing has a hole in which while argued looks to be from the gun shot, it bares are more striking resemblance to someone ripping it. There was also a wound on her back which shows she either fell over something and hit her back or someone hit her back instead. The injury looked to have either been caused by a cricket bat or a piece of furniture. There is also Oscar's behaviour at the start of the relationship where he is described to be controlling and even stalked Reeva without her consent.
There is other evidence such as the toilet, as the only way for that candy cane pattern to have been made was is if the toilet was flushed 20 seconds before the shooting, which means that Oscar was certainly aware someone was on the toilet when he fired at it.

Oscar Pistorius is 100% guilty of murdering Reeva Steenkamp. When you're in a brand new relationship like they were, and you're in bed with your boyfriend or girlfriend, the two of you are either having sex all night (it was Valentine's Day, after all) or you're sleeping very close to each other, perhaps intertwined together. There is no way that OP didn't know that his Reeva wasn't in the bed with him. If you think you hear a burglar in your house, you will first turn to your partner, wake them, and then get up and get your weapon, etc. He didn't do that because they were never asleep in bed. I think they had an argument that evening, maybe she wanted to end things or maybe something happened and the chip on his shoulder got chipped at further and he violently reacted. She ran in fear for her life and locked herself in the bathroom, and Blade Runner lost his damn mind, ran after her and shot her repeatedly. He should be roting in jail without his prosthetics.

Just for a second - lets just look at the logic of an 'intruder' soooo, I've hypothetically broken into someones home - what intruder in their right mind locks themselves in an upstairs bathroom! That is a trap - an intruder, one would imagine, would look for the first exit DOWNSTAIRS - thats what an intruder is going to do - ESCAPE, not go upstairs and lock themselves in a BATHROOM to get caught and incriminate themselves in a crime! So ridiculous!

    1. Reeva happily goes to bed, having packed all her clothes neatly away in her bag, including her underwear and the top she was wearing, while leaving her jeans inside-out at the bottom of the bed.
    2. OP wakes in the night and immediately puts his hands over his face. He takes them off long enough to glance over and notice Reeva’s legs under the duvet. He then puts his hands back over his face to get out of bed - pushing aside a duvet that is not actually on him.
    3. He walks around to Reeva’s side of the bed, without either looking at her or telling her what he’s doing. She doesn’t ask, either.
    4. Once his back is completely turned, Reeva silently scrambles across to his side of the bed and walks totally noiselessly and in the pitch black to the toilet.
    5. Never once facing the bed, OP brings both fans in and positions them at the end of the bed. How he did that with his back to the bed the entire time, I am unable to fathom. He either stood with his back to the bed, and put the fans in front of him and then walked around them, or positioned them with his arms behind him.
    6. In spite of the pitch-black room, he notices jeans on the floor. He is bothered by a small LED light enough to want to cover them with said jeans - but not bothered by the lit-up LED display, the light on the TV or the lights on the light switches.
    7. He hears a terrifying sound from the bathroom and is frozen with fear. At no point does it cross his mind that it may have been the person sharing the bedroom and bathroom with him making the noise - nope, he’s so convinced it can’t be her, he doesn’t even bother to turn his head and glance in her direction.
    8. He doesn’t seek to clarify what he’s heard with his awake girlfriend who is feet away from him. He doesn’t wonder if she heard it too and is scared.
    9. He feels particularly vulnerable because he’s on his stumps, but doesn’t take a few seconds to put on the legs that are, actually, right next to him.

    10. He stops being frozen with fear and heads for his gun, making his way around the fans that he has just positioned in front of the bed. He holds into the bed for balance, and says not-a-word to the person who is in it regarding the fact that he believes that there are intruders in the next room and he needs to arm himself.
    11. He reaches under the bed for the gun, careful not to glance across at the person he believes is in it.
    12. He stands up, faces the passage and whispers/speaks quietly to Reeva, telling her to get down and call the police without actually telling her why. He is not surprised that she doesn’t ask or that she doesn’t bother to get out of bed and get down as instructed.
    13. He makes his way in terror to the bathroom - ignoring the door that he and Reeva could have escaped through and the panic alarm that would have brought immediate help.
    14. He’s so desperate to put himself between the intruders and Reeva that he doesn’t actually check where Reeva is.
    15. He is too scared to put the light on but not too scared to start screaming as soon as he starts walking down the passage.
    16. He is walking slowly and quietly down the passage, screaming.
    17. Reeva hears the screaming but is too scared of the intruder to respond and give away her position, so she slams the door.
    18. OP screams at Reeva to call the police. She fails to do this even though she has her phone with her.
    19. OP gets to the bathroom doorway, and stops screaming so that the intruders won’t know where he is.
20.When he sees that there’s no one in the bathroom, he starts screaming again.
    21. Reeva stands facing the door, making no effort to speak to her screaming boyfriend - who is now standing right outside the toilet door. She doesn’t wonder if he wants to come into the toilet and hide with her; she selfishly hides, silently locking the door and says nothing.
    22. Somehow she steps backwards to knock the magazine rack on the other side of the toilet before immediately stepping forward again to the position she was in when she was shot.
    23. OP has many thoughts running though his head - a story about a neighbour being tied up in his house, the crime rate in SA, the builder leaving a ladder outside his house, the folly of shooting a warning shot into the shower in case it ricochets and hits him, but a noise from the toilet has all thoughts disappearing from his mind like a fart in the wind and he shoots once, moves position and shoots three more times without actually meaning to….all the while screaming.

    24. He stands screaming for a bit, then walks backwards out of the bathroom screaming.
    25. He gets to the bedroom, screaming, and is a trifle surprised to see that Reeva is not sitting in bed after hearing four gunshots from the en suite bathroom.
    26. He heads across the bed backwards, keeping his eyes on the passage….she’s not there. He walks along the gap between the bed and the curtains; she’s not there. She’s not behind the curtains either.
    27. Gasp. Was that Reeva in the toilet? He doesn’t even bother checking to see whether she’s run out of the bedroom - that would be a ridiculous thing to do given that the shooting was in the bathroom, so he sees no sense in even checking (yes, he actually said that).
    28. He runs with his gun back to the bathroom and tries to pull open the door - he’s still scared it may be an intruder, and hopeful it’s not Reeva, but he doesn’t bother checking to see if there’s a ladder outside the window.
    29. He runs back to the bedroom, parts the curtains and shouts for help from the balcony….holding a cocked gun in his hand because he’s still scared.
    30. He puts down his gun, sits on the bed, looks for his socks, puts on his legs then picks up his gun again to run to the bathroom - all in the pitch black because he tells us he never opened the curtains or put on the light.
    31. Kicking the door doesn’t work, so he runs back for his bat. He then runs back to the bathroom with a cocked gun in one hand and a cricket bat in the other.
    * Oh, I almost forgot - throughout all of this he is screaming like a woman, except when he goes onto the balcony to shout for help in a man’s voice.
All of the above takes him 15 minutes
    32. Back in the bathroom, he puts down the gun and hits the door three times with enough ferocity that six people think they are gunshots. Four of those people had slept through the real gunshots 15 minutes earlier - seemingly not bothered by a sound 1000 times louder than the sound that they are hearing now.
    33. Once he breaks down the door and sees Reeva bloody and not breathing, he is as silent as a monk. No more screaming - he is too “sad” to scream anymore.
    34. In spite of screaming at Reeva to call the police three times, it doesn’t occur to him to do the same himself now.
    35. He sits sobbing over her, then pulls her against him, feeling her blood run on to him - although it only manages to stain his shorts and forearms.
    36. He is so distraught by Reeva’s condition, that getting medical help for her is not his first thought….calling a friend is.
    37. He psychically knows that Netcare will tell him to get Reeva to hospital himself so he calls Stander to help him lift her so he can do this.
    38. He then calls Netcare to be given the worst medical advice of all time - to take a woman who has been shot three times, once in the head, to hospital himself.
    39. He calls Security for help, then sobs down the phone to them. When they call him back, he forgets to ask for help and tells them he is fine.
    40. He runs downstairs, careful to switch off the alarm first and opens the door, crying.
    41. Coming back upstairs he smashes his way through the bedroom double-doors before simply unlatching them.
    42. He carries Reeva through the bedroom, leaving a dissected line of blood that is half on carpet and half on the duvet on the bed - which the police can handily line up later making it look like the duvet was on the floor all along and that OP is one enormous great big fat liar.
I could go on, but my dinner is ready.
I am starting to think that anyone who truly believes this man is innocent is slightly divorced from reality. It’s the biggest load of bullcrap I have ever, ever heard. Seriously.

Being a South African man with a disability having to protect yourself and your loved ones when necessary can make you approach things differently. Have a fire arm or a baseball bat always ready in case of emergency to compensate for your perceived shortcoming.
Shame on his family and friends that did not call the police to convescate his weapons while knowing he has rage issues while doing irresponsible things with his fire arms.
I do not believe the people close to him were extremely shocked about what happened that night.

She was standing behind the toilet door when the first bullet broke her hip. She started screaming and fell onto a magazine rack. When Pistorius heard her fall he switched aim and fired three more shots, one missed, two hit her. He knew exactly where the magazine rack was and was further able to hone in on the target of her head because of her screams. They were not panicky double tap or rapid shots as Pistorius claimed, but measured shots with intervals. He knew who was behind the door and he knew exactly what he was doing. He will RIP......Rot In Prison.

This sounds fairly accurate. I think this is as close to the thruth as we can come: At the 9:30 mark and onwards it is stated that loud arguments were heard, a woman scream, gunshots, more screams (Reeva getting hit by bullits) then silence. There is no way in the world that I am bying the "story" from Oscar. He might even have opened the window himself AFTER the murder. Because murder it is. (It was opening the window that triggered him into panic, so he told us.) So why shoot at an intruder, who is already locked up in the bathroom and who poses no real danger to him? My gut feeling tells me that he would have shouted at the top of his lungs out of the open window: "Help, help, help!!!" if he though there was a intruder in the bathroom.
It is a natural thing to do.

Clearly all you need to know in this case to know this guy is guilty is that he gave a house key to his girlfriend, supposedly the only other person he let come in and out of his house as they wished. And he would have suspected that she would be inside his home before anyone else. And if he had any care whatsoever for her safety then he would have found out first if it was her then reacted to an intruder if it wasn’t. To top things off, this is Valentine’s Day, where lovers everywhere go to great lengths to surprise each other with romantic gestures, so every fiber of his being should have suspected it was her in his home. But now you have the neighbors as witnesses to him arguing with a woman just moments before they heard the gunshots. Even without the neighbors witnessing that, it still doesn’t make any sense as his story was told. Not even a little. It’s clear that he didn’t call out for her because he knew exactly who it was. There are a lot of narcissists out there that would take the lives of their partner without a second thought. These things happen all the time.

This is through a combination of well founded fear of armed intruders in your own home and the constant not knowing if you're next. This is very real in SA as so many people are attacked even in gated communities and murdered or raped. Did he simply over react and shoot anything that moved? - possibly.
