AllthingsbyKang Thanks Kang! I haven't done too many homeschool videos yet, just snippets of our routine in a couple of DITL videos. Maybe I'll do a few more in the coming months. Is there anything in particular that you'd like to know or see? 😊
Another great way to practice numbers: number your stairs and count with them as you go up. After a while they will be able to do it themselves. When they get older you can even do it backwards as you go down.
Thank you so much, you're so sweet. I've already added way too much of what you said into my Amazon cart lol. I'm proud because we at least started our sons' spiritual education (scriptures every day, nativity at christmas, reviewing weekly church lessons from their manual) but I've just been lost as to how to add in "educational" play or toys! This definitely gave me ideas. Thank you so much
You are so sweet - thank you for taking the time to put this video together. God bless your homeschool journey - I start for the first time, and with preschool, next month - so this was so helpful!
I'm so glad it was helpful! I hope you have a great time learning together. It's a process and takes patience, but the rewards of homeschooling are so worth it! : )
Thank you so much for sharing your video! I've been doing a little homeschool preschool with my 3 year this year and last since September and these are great resources/games/activities that you have shared. I also really love that you listed off what you used and where we can find them! So organized and simple too. Thanks again!
Tracy Ober I'm glad you found it helpful Tracy! 😊 There are so many great tools out there and for preschool it can be so much fun learning and playing together.
I heard about the big thoughts for little people somewhere on RUclips and found it at the thrift store or yard sale and recognized it right away! So glad I picked it up. Otherwise I might not have known about it and gotten it
I'm currently teaching my daughter preschool from home and love getting new ideas to keep it fun. So thank you so much for these tips! Where did you get that blue magnetic board to practice name recognition? I just subscribed today! =)
How wonderful, I’m glad some of these ideas were helpful! The blue magnet boards came with a set of some magnetic shapes that we have. Maybe Walmart would have a small magnetic dry erase board? I hope you both enjoy your homeschool journey together! 🤗
Thanks for the great ideas! As far as I know it is not recommended to approach letters by learning their name first rather children should learn their phonetic sound first. Would be very interesting for me to hear your thoughts on that.
You're right phonemic awareness is a crucial part of reading readiness! I personally choose to teach letter recognition and phonics together rather than separately. Knowing the letter name and sound relationship will help a preschooler be more prepared for kindergarten and hopefully be a more successful reader. But the beauty of home education is that you as the parent get to decide which approach will work best for your child. Take care! : )
so im gathering that we can just get started with preschool homeschool n bot have to report anything to state? when my four yr old starts kindergarden what will i need to do to set her up.my oldest is at special needs school so i didnt learn with him
Brittany Keane Hey Brittany, every state has their own homeschool laws. In my state you don't need to file your "intent" to homeschool with the county until your child is 6 by February of that year. So yes, we started preschool btwn 2-3 years and I filed with our county when she was 6. But google what your specific state homeschool laws are, because they may differ. 😉
Hmm, I've known some families who store their puzzle pieces in those slider zip-top plastic bags and then put them in a plastic storage container. Then when you want to do a puzzle together, the parent can get out the pieces. ; )
Hey Imelina, I just added links to four apps that we've enjoyed using in the description box for you! A couple involve tracing, either with their finger or with a stylus. There is a neat Montessori number app that my son has used to count to 100. Another one incorporates scripture and the attributes of God while teaching letters. One also has early typing skills where they can learn to locate letters on a keypad. : )
Do you ever deal with the children being bored with their school work and playing around instead of doing their work? We bought a $99 preschool program but my daughter hates it, we recently found another free homeschool program and even my 3 year old is learning 😊
Pucca Belle with preschool aged kids I wouldn't expect them kids to sit for super long periods of time maybe 10 mins. Learning should involve lots of play. Also one child may be a auditory learner, another might be a visual learner, or maybe a hands on/kinesthetic learner. I'd say try to utilize the curriculum you have but present the information in a way that is more tailored to your child. For example instead of tracing numbers on a sheet of paper, maybe make numbers out of playdoh or Duplo blocks. Over time you'll find out what learning style works best for that child and what is a good fit for your family. As kids get older, they should be able to sit for longer periods of time with shorts breaks in between to get out their "wiggles". One homeschool mommy I know lets her middle school son do his work while sitting on an exercise ball. That way he can be moving, but still doing the work he needs to accomplish! Homeschooling has so much flexibility and I find I'm always tweaking things over time to adjust to the age/stage/interests of my kids. I hope that makes sense!
Taming the Frizz Thank you! This was super helpful, she loves singing so any learning songs helps her remember what she's learning about that day. The website we pay for has kids counting graphs and picking the number which to me is pretty advanced for preschoolers considering she's never even seen those numbers before! Yesterday she cried because it was too hard they wanted her to count up to 20 and then pick out the number and her choices were 3, 16, 20 I was like what? Thank God for the free program we found and this video I'm going to start incorporating more of these things 😊
Hey Brandi! My Dad actually bought the shape magnets years ago when he was traveling on business. I did go ahead and link a similar product that I found on Amazon in the description box. I hope that helps! : )
Raising Lathrops That's hilarious! 😂 I suppose that's how the kids put it away and it slipped my notice. At least they get an "A" for effort, right?! 😉
The magnets reminded me of having a Lightbrite growing up. Making pictures with the pegs.
I am going to binge watch all your homeschooling videos!! my husband and I are considering homeschool so I am loving these videos :)
AllthingsbyKang Thanks Kang! I haven't done too many homeschool videos yet, just snippets of our routine in a couple of DITL videos. Maybe I'll do a few more in the coming months. Is there anything in particular that you'd like to know or see? 😊
it is Amazing to see your little ones learn and much more knowing that you taught them
Another great way to practice numbers: number your stairs and count with them as you go up. After a while they will be able to do it themselves. When they get older you can even do it backwards as you go down.
Great idea! 🤗
Great ideas and well done for incorporating Godly lessons for your children. Keep it up!

I’m glad you got some ideas. I hope you both have a wonderful year learning together! 😊
I LOVE this video! Stocking up on stuff for my baby when she's in preschool now. I'm looking into Big Thoughts for Little People. I love it.
We really enjoy it; I hope you will too!

Svitlana Ivanenko that's great! It's nice when you can find books second hand like that. 🙌🏻 Enjoy!
Love it, Deanna! 😊 Ive been wanting to get a clock puzzle!
It's nice; it's a toy for the baby, number practice for the toddler, and telling time practice/skip counting for first grader! : )
We have a similar approach to the one-room schoolhouse. I LOVE your fabric letters!!! I'm loving your craftiness, the place setting is adorable.

Pepper and Pine Thanks Hana! 😊 It is fun using my sewing hobby to make things for the kiddos!
Great video. You have a lot of great ideas that will help me set up my homeschool room
Thank you! Have fun setting up your homeschool space. 😁🎉

The Joyful Homemaker It is a nice one to read through; my 6 year old still enjoys it! 😊
Hi. Where did you get your shape magnets from?
I did my best to link the items in the description box. Some items I couldn’t link the exact product, so I found something similar. 🤗👍
Thanks for uploading

My son has that same Melissa and Doug puzzle but two letters are missing. Any tips for keeping up with pieces?
Hmm, I've known some families who store their puzzle pieces in those slider zip-top plastic bags and then put them in a plastic storage container. Then when you want to do a puzzle together, the parent can get out the pieces. ; )
WeLoveJones. totAlly know what u mean. we have same problem
WeLoveJones you can contact Melissa and doug and they could probably replace those letters.
WeLoveJones I keep all my pieces in a zip lock bag. And all the zip lock bags go in a bin in between use.
Trying to find good learning apps for my 4 year old. What are the apps you show here that you recommend?

I'm looking for that link for your Pinterest board about the Tot boxes... but I don't see it?
www.pinterest.com/PandDFrizz/tot-school-busy-boxes/ I'll be sure it's in the description box as well! : )
Taming the Frizz thanks :)

I think you're doing a great job! Just enjoy this time with her and have fun learning together. : )
Check out BJU. I just posted a review of their K3 curriculum.
Do you know what brand or where you got the shape magnets and cards?
Hey Brandi! My Dad actually bought the shape magnets years ago when he was traveling on business. I did go ahead and link a similar product that I found on Amazon in the description box. I hope that helps! : )
I love this ! Thank you!
You're so welcome; thanks for watching! : )
Why are all the B's on the alphabet puzzles upside down??
Raising Lathrops That's hilarious! 😂 I suppose that's how the kids put it away and it slipped my notice. At least they get an "A" for effort, right?! 😉
Lol I don't know why I even noticed that.
I notice that too lol
Great Ideas!♥

Hello, how old are your kids?
Roughly two years apart: 6, 4, and 2! : )
Amazing
Thank you! : )
wish I knew to sew 😭
Don’t be intimidated to learn! 😊 Find some easy projects on Pinterest. If you don’t have a sewing machine, hand sewing with felt is fun too. 👍
