- Hello internet, I was listening to a lot of the recently released psytrance music and I couldn't help myself but realizing that many producers are sounding the same.
Of course, there's no shame in that but what if we worked in 2024 on chaning that and kicked of the new year with what I consider the three sound design tricks that every producer should know?

Most important tip, modulate EVERYTHING. Maybe not all at once, but modulate and lay down midi control for things you wouldn’t think of. Step by step panning choppy notes or hats, modulate reverb wet amounts, modulate ADSR, modulate oscillator wave shapes. Fm amount, turn delay on and off. And fractal effects. If you have a knob, modulate it in some way.
great sounds! thank you!
Good stuff like always !!
Thank you for the great tips!
I really love the in depth tutorials. Amazing stuff.
As always, legend! Spot on, precise, no unnecessary repetitions just bang bang bang! Straight in! Love your work!!
lovely, thanks a lot
Grrrrreat! thank you!
Legend! Thankyou for this ❤❤❤
Superb techniques Ollie. Thank you so much for sharing
Daaaaaam Bro ! Epic sounds mate... Number 1 Master tips right there man
The Pigments tip is phenomenal. Thank you!
Inspiring instructional video. I need to spend more time implementing these guides into my learning, rather then getting lost in sound design and boring myself with a lack of any real progress. Thanks again! ❤
Bro i actually leaen new thingsss from you and thats saying A LOT!
You are back
I was never gone 😎
But yeah, with end of year holidays and I had to take a little pause from videos ;)
F***ing Legend! Thx! 😁🙏🏻❤️
Killer video, this one :D
Nice one, bro! 🤘 👽
That is so interesting, I've been making techno exclusively but using bitwig and I never thought of making psytrance before, love these techniques. Maybe its time to branch out :D
Agree Ollie Psytrance/Psychedelic is the same these days..It should be excited with fresh new experimental sounds , Ilove your Channel thank you for sharing your joy and tutorials. God Bless You 😉👍
Toujours aussi intéressant et passionnant 👍
Et hallucinant ;)
Le dernier tip est bien cool aussi, n'ayant pas Serum, faudra à l'occase que j'essaie sur Pigments ou Vital (si j'y arrive....)
5:12 it's called logarithmic.
Hi Ollie, can you make a new tutorial of your new device "Note Grid" you are using? I see you update that. Cheers and continue with good work.
Ohh, amazing ❤ thank you! About the first one, can i also do this in Serum?
That was fucking epic...
mega cool channel, you are a super talented person, thank you for what you do, it’s just fantastic. low bow to you. Question: Can you tell me the model of your headphones?
Thank you for your support and words dude, means a lot :)
My headphones are : Ollo S4X
When is the Ollie's sound design masterclass?? 😍I always love to learning tricks from you brother 🙏🏻
Hmmm that would be a great idea actually ;)
Yes, that would be amazing!
Complete track from start to finish would be 👍✅💯
Damn this Kick and Bass... sooooo delicious!
🔥🔥🔥
Hi can you also make a video like creating a track while following a reference track?
Thanks for sharing, these tricks are great and also simple to make.
The curve you were asking is *logarithmic* not algorithmic
Yes that was what I was looking for, Logarithmic curve! Thank you Boris 🙏
Excellent video! Please, one day make a tutorial on how to add an organic (or more natural) feeling to these synthetic sounds
That would be a good idea, also tip number 3 in this video shows how you can emulate that ;)
Thank you for the correction Boris, that was exactly what I was looking for 🙏
Is there a tutorial on how you make that random arp in note grid?
Yes!

Bro, the reason I am trying to sound the same is because I have been out of this for the better part of a decade and I am trying to catch up. I obviously want to sound like me eventually, but there are so many fundamental skills I am lacking in and it is hard to figure it all out.
I like how I can get a good kick sound with multipass and transient shapers at various bands with saturation at different bands as well. I don’t even need to EQ, but wavetable and granular stuff is so miss with the occasional hit and that’s where I am falling down.
And there's no shame in that, actually what I've wanted to show with this tutorial is how to "not the sound the same" without re-inventing the wheel? you know what I mean?
It's just 3 tips & tricks that will help you push out a given sound design and give it a personal touch (hopefully :) )
@@olliepsy I really like the first two tricks.
I want to make proggy stuff with a lower BPM because I am getting a bit older.
Sounding the same vs. uniqueness. I guess many producers are just afraid of doing something different.
The scene in psytrance in special is a little bit more picky I find.
I think maybe you meant exponential curve. You are such a clever producer, it makes me sad that you are producing music for such a limited audience. Have you thought about releasing some tracks in a different genre other than Psytrance?
lol wtf
No.1 don't bother it's too hard, leave it to the professionals
