Amazing tut @Ollie . I do think you should take a deeper dive into this , especially the parts between the full drum breaks and the standard 16 bar intro . For me this is the hardest part of writing a track
Really cool idead ollie very open minded 🙏 it! I also love short melodic intros that goes up with filter or dark dirty sound intro like drum and base or base heavy that create a lot of energy
It really depends, the goal of the tutorial is to be efficient and straight to the point, I know the feeling of loosing yourself in a big epic intro and then not being able to build a track with it.
@@olliepsy I was just being facetious, got a reputation to maintain 😅 I would really like to write a track one day with a decent/long intro, but for now I just settle for the bare minimum
Why would you sacrifice potentially unique and interesting ideas for the sake of "keeping it DJ friendly" .. you talk about capturing the audiences attention then proceed to make the most dull, predictable intro that just screams "generic psy" .. DJ's have sync buttons... dont be lazy
Because you're not the only one playing your music, a DJ friendly track has more potential to be played by bigger number of people meaning spreading your music :) Btw, how did you relate sync button to what I said in that tutorial about keeping it DJ friendly ? o.O
tnx for that bro
I always love finding little nuggets of wisdom in your videos (especially the Impacts part)
