    If all blades were equally sharp, would you change your best to worst list?

      Possibly. Guess I'll need to sharpen and retest one of these days

    Estwing! Steel handle puts it on top for me.

      @Saber_Outdoors  Год назад +1

      Its a big advantage. Short of doing something foolish the handle should last forever

      @@Saber_Outdoorshow's the vibration on the Estwing. And the overall weight? Is it heavier than the others due to the steel handle?

    • @Saber_Outdoors
      @Saber_Outdoors  Год назад +1

      @curtis3363 weight is not much different than the others and the rubber handle does a good job absorbing shock.

    I'll stick with my Council Tool 2 lb. Wood-Craft Pack Axe, 24"

  • @JW11595E
    @JW11595E Год назад +1

    The council took axe is a boys axe, they’re not really meant for splitting, they’re just scaled down Dayton axes with a particular blade geometry, really meant for chopping aka falling smaller trees and bucking limbs, they also lack a hardened poll, meant for driving plastic wedges for falling big trees but not great as a hammer or for driving steal splitting wedges. Council tool for make better options for bushcraft.

      I'm just now getting into bushcrafting. I'll try it out for that

      @@Saber_Outdoors also depending on when your boys was made may effect it’s abilities to split, September of 2023 they updated the design which they claim improved it’s splitting ability. Idk if this applies to all its variants or just the sport utility line.

    It's hard to take you seriously when you are wearing Crocs and chopping wood with dull axes.

  • @jamesnelson1443

    Your technique is horrible!!
    Estwing had you chopped properly would have thrown massive chips!
    The Coucil Tool would split in one hit had you hit it better!

    This is not a fair comparison as some axes were sharpened more than others.
