It seems that you know a lot about midi, at least a hell of a lot more than me, so I thought I'd ask you (or anyone else here) if you might have any experience with set/song list apps that can send midi commands and the GR-55. Would I need this Morningstar controller in addition to a set list app? I use SongBook now with hundreds of songs charted but will switch to a midi capable app in a second if I could click on a song and automatically change all my devices to the correct preset numbers! I do a solo act using a Roland GR-55, a Boss GP-10, a Boss DR-880 Drum machine(for patterns only, not songs), and TC Helicon Play Acoustic harmonizer....Would this be able to switch ALL of these? THAT would REALLY make my life SOOOO much easier! But as I say, I'm a midi novice at best, so if anyone has step by step info on switching these devices to the needed presets on a song by song basis PLEASE let me know. THANKS!
Hey dude! All of what you’ve said here is definitely doable. For example, to explain briefly my current setup, I use Onsong as my app. When is choose a song, it selects my patch on my RC300, and the drum pattern/song on my Beatbuddy. I don’t do it, but it can also select patches for effects, as you described above. I have been meaning to do a video about that setup but felt it “outdated”. Sounds like it could be helpful to do an overview..?
@@DaveWebbMusic It would DEFINITELY be a good idea to do a video on connecting and controlling these devices....I have been searching for years watching every video that remotely touches on the solution to my particular application, messaging hundreds of people including ROLAND, and even a company called "Midi Solutions" (yeah right!), and the closest I ever got was, "It could be done, but I have no idea how."! So, I decided that i I ever did figure it out, that I would post a how to on it, but PLEASE go ahead and do that....I can't be the only one with the same issue. So, Onsong is just for Apple correct? And you use the Moringstar with OnSong? All of the devices have midi in and out except the TC Helicon PlayAcoustic, but I heard that the USB on that device can be used.....But even if not, I could live with having to just change that one manually, and then I'll get the VoiceLive 2 or 3 later. Someone did tell me that instead of buying separate midi to bluetooth adapters, to get a midi splitter....would using the Morningstar make the task easier, and negate having to buy the splitter? Thanks for responding brother! Really appreciate any help on my problem. I've been playing for 53 years but know next to nothing about midi.
@@DaveHunterMusic Dave, I just got an MC6 Pro to replace my Singular Sound Maestro. I have a GR55 and Sy1000 to hook up. Stay in touch and I'll try to let you know.
I wish I found this when I first got my MC8 this spring lol! Loving it now that I understand it more 😊
Excellent vid -- the MC8 is amazing!
Amazing video!
How do you set each pedals midi channel?
Thanks!
Very cool and helpfull! BUT: I´m confused, since you use button A for toggeling all pedals on/off AND for a preset...???

Can I engage your services and knowledge when you are in Perth? 😅
I have never been to Perth! Maybe one day.
Anyone know how to factory reset an mc8? Bought it used and he left all his banks and presets
You will be able to do it on the editor. There is a “CLEAR BANK” option. It might be named slightly different, but it’s there.
