This is something that seems to be still controversial/in the midst of being discussed on a wider scale, so these instances, for the sake of this comment alone, will remain uncounted until I see that a wider consensus seems to have been reached.)
I am happy my favorite reaction channel is doing this show. The “I.. will take.. the best bits of the steak” scene was heartbreaking for me. The acting and the direction of the show feel different from all the other Marvel shows (which I loved, WandaVision being my fav), and I hope they have more scenes in which the actor can more freely flex his acting skills and add a bit more of an emotional side to this show.
It hits even harder when you realise he's vegan so he literally knows nothing about steak and he just went with it cus he was mad traumatized with losing his date
I think its a really cool and eye-opening approach with how they demonstrate people with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) in this show. I'm really excited for this Season, also considering most of the trailer was just the first episode lol.
@@AlbertaGeek I think Legend just meant shows actually made by Marvel Studios [Feige and Co] but you right. Daredevil is still gonna be the baseline, no matter how much Feige would love to pretend it don't exist.
@@AlbertaGeek Everyone says this but I hated season 1 of Daredevil. Very slow starting, very weak overall IMO. Best of the defenders series but that bar is seriously low.
I'm having a hard time getting pulled into the series, I'm finding myself not finishing a full episode in one sitting; I'm watching them in parts. I'm trying to like the show, but I'm not getting immersed like with the previous Disney+ Marvel series. Oscar Isaac is superb, but I was really expecting a darker tone to this series, as it was hinted in the trailers. To be honest, the music/soundtrack makes the show sound "comedic"--I mean, I understand the lyrics to George Michael's "Wake Me Up" obviously make sense with the "waking up" part of the show, but it killed the mood of the chase scene and made it look like a Benny Hill skit (not to mention the cupcake truck). It's a 6-episode run, but I think there is too much build up with very little payoff by episode 3 (currently). I do hope they turn it up for the remaining half of the series.
For frame of reference for another show that portrays dissociative identity disorder or D.I.D, that you guys watched is jojo's part 5. There was a similar situation with Diavolo and Doppio, where one knew of the other's existence and their shared situation and shared body. And the other had no knowledge of his own situation or that he had another identity inside of him. It interesting how in both shows, both of the "stronger" identities didn't want the "meeker" ones knowing the truth, and only revealed themselves when the body they share was in danger.

I wonder if Oscar was trying to convince John to join the MCU. He must’ve been like “Come on John it’s cool over here they ain’t gonna do us dirty like Star Wars did I assure you.” 😂🤣
This one episode is Already my favorite MCU series, amazing camera work like the mirroring puddle scene, the mystery element to those unfamiliar with the character, and the violence we may not have scene most of it but those guys are Dead when he had the bloody scarab in his hand and how he just dragged the jackal monster back in like "I AIN'T DONE WITH YOU, in the name of the Moon I Shall BEAT You"
As a vegan, I feel like I have to tell you all how much of an important character point it is that he decided to have a steak after all of this happening to him. Vegans do not do this lightly. Contrary to what the events during fads will tell you, people who are serious about Veganism stay vegan. For good. So for something to break him so powerfully mentally shows that he is feeling powerless. And with that, comes a lack of feeling like we can make a difference in the world. That anything matters. It's really a heavy hitting moment. Rephrase 'eating a bit of steak' to giving up on his beliefs, and oof ensues.
Also going back to meat - especially fucking _red meat_ - after YEARS of veganism would be HELL on your bowels. Maybe it's a good thing that waiter got him his steak well-done. I don't think his stomach would really be able to process anything rarer than medium-well depending on how long it's been for him. So, it's also almost like self-harm, in a way. I'm not making this comparison lightly, btw - mother's an obligate vegan, and the whole famn damily has a history of not-so-great digestive systems; and I've known people who self-harmed with food due to eating disorders, trauma, or both. It's definitely a thing. And when you're mentally ill and at your lowest point, it's not that unreasomable to think you might do something to hurt yourself, even if it's passive...? (Kinda like when you have suicidal ideation but instead of actively planning anything or going out and hurting yourself, you just stop caring about your safety and well-being instead and just throw caution to the wind. "Oh, that car almost hit me because I crossed the road when I did? Huh. Too bad it didn't." That kind of thing.)
19:57 I actually think this episode maybe the first time Steven/Marc morphed into moon knight, because depending on the writer moon knight could be a different personalities/alter or just marc in costume. But in the jeff lemire's run of the comics, moon knight represents every single alter becoming one entity, which is symbolized in the show by that final scene in the bathroom with the infinite mirror reflections showing different alters transforming into moon knight...
i think that marc is moon knight, like how johnny blaze is the ghost rider, he signed a contract with khonshu in the same way, atleast i hope so so theres a chance ghost rider will be in this
This episode was so good. This show is giving us the perspective of Steven one of Marc's multiple personalities. Marc is the real him, he is a mercenary. The deeper voice is an Egyptian god that chose Marc to be his Avatar
By far my favorite episodes of all the Disney + series. I didn’t know much about Moon Knight. Because I also follow Emergency Awesome and he explained who Moon Knight is an all the personalities of him. So when going into I knew about the two personalities Steven Grant (the idiot) and Marc Spector (the badass). Plus the other voice Steven grant heard was khonshu that was the creature he seen running at him in the elevator. Plus I wanted to see your guys reaction to this show and it was great to see your guys reaction as always. Can’t wait to see your reaction to the series 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I loved your reactions. The voice insulting Steven was the Moon God Khonshu. Marc is the main persona who is the Moon Knight. He was considered Marvel’s Batman which they’ve since made many changes and focus more on is DID. I will not into much for fear of spoilers but take note of Khonshu’s appearance it is the same as the Moon Knight costume. If there are a few reveals in this series you will be surprised to see how much this series fits into the MCU. Those unfamiliar with the comics all don’t see it but just wait.
SHEERA!!! Love the purple!! Sheera also nailed it w/the multiple personalities!!! WELL DONE!!! Also did y'all catch all the glimpses of that dog-monster creature creeping around behind things when Steven looking for that lost dog in the museum.
Also I'm not going to lie, I'm super happy to subscribe to you guys. You have great chemistry with each other, your reactions are always genuine and in this case being you don't know much of the character at all, it's cool to watch you guys try to piece together who this character is.
Introduced werewolf by night moon knight trained as a boxer before he joined the army. Steven in the comics is a playboy but now he works at a museum. Two reflections on the period could be marc and jake with Steven. A lot of reflections from mirrors I love it. The bob dylan song was a nice touch. Y’all see the crocodiles everywhere lol ammit from Egyptian mythology. The theme of waking up is there but really Steven has did dissociative identity disorder. He has sand around his bed. He has a goldfish that have been said to have bad memories funny enough Steven has trouble with his memory. Notice the scale tattoo Arthur has in the Egyptian afterlife a person heart is weighed to see if they had been good or bad. That song was sampled for big pimpin lol.
man all i can say is, prepare n strap on ur seatbelts kids cause u bout to go on a wild ride with Moon Knight, one of my top 5 marvel characters of all time.
Sheera with the “my cabbages” reference from ATLA. I was thinking the same thing. Now I kind of wish they make the ice cream truck guy a reoccurring character where people keep stealing his different ice cream trucks 😂
Thank you Jeff Lemirrior this Moonknight version is heavily based off this comic run with the battle of DID. Moonknight is a very complexed and unique character but that's but makes him so interesting. In some stories he fights Vampires and Wolfs, others he's a detective tryin to solve crimes of the street level, and in one he actually fights and beats the Avengers because Khonshu said Moonknight need their power. Pretty obscure but definitely a interesting character. I know I'm not the only one who caught Big Pimpin instrumental.
I'm really excited to know what they are going to do with Harrow (Ethan Hawke, the villain). In the comics, this guy was a one-off villain who was literally only in one issue and immediately got bodied by Moon Knight. But in this show, it looks like they're building him up to be a main antagonist for the first season, maybe even the whole show. They've already added a shit ton of interesting background to what was initially a very one-dimensional character with just one episode, so I can't wait to see what happens from here.
So basically the scale is part of Egyptian lore of what they believe what happens when you die. The heart on one side and a feather on the other. If your heart outweighed the feather you were an evil person and your soul would be devoured by Ammit. There’s also a scale theme villain called Libra. Maybe it’s the cult leader or maybe next season.
One thing I like is they mention the process in how a soul passes on in Egyptian beliefs. To further it: the believe as years pass your heart will carry any weight from actions you did up to your death. When you die you go meet Anubis who judges human souls. You cross a bridge and below it is their version of the underworld. When you meet him he takes your heart and place it on one end of the scale and the other is a feather. If your heart is heavier then the feather then Anubis will judge you base on where it is. If it’s so heavy and raise the feather to the top then you are guilty of something and the bridge breaks below you. You go to their version of hell pretty much. If it’s so light that the feather touches the ground then you have a good heart and you go to the field of reeds which is their version of heaven. If somehow balance exactly or close enough then Anubis will test your soul to determine where do you go. Maybe missing some or some info might be dated but this is what I remember from years ago when looking into it.
Roshi if you ever get to reading Moon Knight I recommend Lemire's run called All New All Different Moon Knight. That thing is pretty close to how the show portrays Moon Knight
I had to watch this episode twice cause when he started tweaking out switching back and forth with Marc I was confused "what happened?" "Am I tweaking or is the video tweaking?" For a first episode it was a lot to take in.

Listen, if there's been any misunderstandings on my side and it's all just in the wording, then feel free to tell me what you were actually trying to say. But as it stands, aside from whatever is comic book-specific - which isn't really relevant to the heart of the matter, and I have no background to be able to comment on it anyway - you're (intentionally or unintentionally, but I would assume the latter) spreading misinformation about an already poorly-understood condition, which, while it would be on a fairly small scale since we're just commenters in a RUclips thread, can *still* cause real-world harm for any time someone acts on an inaccurate or incorrect description they got from your comment. It sucks, but I've seen how it can happen on a bigger scale with big RUclipsrs, and we all know there's no way in hell someone like me is getting _their_ attention. But the more everyday people who know the truth the better, too - people seem to forget that. Or just not care, I guess.
Sorry if I got rambly or sounded aggressive. Rough day. Tired. Just want to set the record straight without starting a fight. Hope you're having a good one. Take care.
*¹* (Speaking strictly-IRL, no comic world. There are a handful of very specific instances in which this statement *can* be *true,* but that depends on _many_ factors, including *who you ask* - some people in the DID community do not believe that "self-made alters" and/or "tulpas" are "true" members of a "legitimate" system. This is something that seems to be still controversial/in the midst of being discussed on a wider scale, so these instances, for the sake of this comment alone, will remain uncounted until I see that a wider consensus seems to have been reached.)
Love how you guys almost instantly got what happened with Steven, y’all are definitely the best reaction channel 😄
I just love how they cut the action scenes of marc and just show us steven so that we're on the same shoes as him, confuse the whole time.
I think its a really cool and eye-opening approach with how they demonstrate people with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) in this show. I'm really excited for this Season, also considering most of the trailer was just the first episode lol.
This has the potential to become the best show made by marvel if done right🔥🔥
I agree, but the high watermark is still season 1 of Daredevil. Seriously, that's a hard one to meet, much less beat.
Oooo so like mr Kim in south park?
Didn't Iron Fist portray "Walker" as having the same personality disorder (in season 2)?
I mean, if a dude bought me food and left me money just to listen to him talk for a bit, I’d be chill about it.
5:53 "I am Optimus Prime" LOL whoever edits your videos is the best
moon knight dragging the creature back in when it tries to get away is such a good touch with what kinda character he is
i rememebr when lupas hair was just some worms bro as a black man trying to start his loc journey seeing his progress has really inspired me thanks bro can't wait to try and grow my hair out like yours brother
I feel like Marc might be the actual body and Steven is the personality.
*Steven stares in bathroom mirror*
"The HEART, Steven! First, we attack the HEART!"
It's actually sweet that Marc, his second personally wanted to keep things secret because he thought Steven deserves a normal life. Obviously, it's not perfect too
I wonder if Oscar was trying to convince John to join the MCU. He must’ve been like “Come on John it’s cool over here they ain’t gonna do us dirty like Star Wars did I assure you.” 😂🤣
I'm so glad I found yalls channel so I can watch a show then rewatch it with my favorite RUclipsrs!
This one episode is Already my favorite MCU series, amazing camera work like the mirroring puddle scene, the mystery element to those unfamiliar with the character, and the violence we may not have scene most of it but those guys are Dead when he had the bloody scarab in his hand and how he just dragged the jackal monster back in like "I AIN'T DONE WITH YOU, in the name of the Moon I Shall BEAT You"
Yo, at the end Moon Knight really told that dog, “You’re goin’ NOWHERE!”
Lupa: Pick up the Roses…you need them for crafting
Roshi: yeah! Crafting 🤣🤣🤣
Lupa, staring into our souls as Roshi say" Makes me want to read the comic" 😂😂😂
Demon: Hey look. A free meal.
Moon Knight: "I'm not locked in here with you. YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME"
AND HERE COMES MARC WITH THE IRON CHAIR!!
The multiple personalities is bringing me back to doom patrol. Y’all should really react to it cause crazy Jane and co are absolutely batshit🤣
yessss best DC series in live action
“What a way to start” literally what I said 😂😂
The road scene was amazing, but the reaction was priceless🤣. Hit that 600k and much love always💯
19:57 I actually think this episode maybe the first time Steven/Marc morphed into moon knight, because depending on the writer moon knight could be a different personalities/alter or just marc in costume. But in the jeff lemire's run of the comics, moon knight represents every single alter becoming one entity, which is symbolized in the show by that final scene in the bathroom with the infinite mirror reflections showing different alters transforming into moon knight...
i think that marc is moon knight, like how johnny blaze is the ghost rider, he signed a contract with khonshu in the same way, atleast i hope so so theres a chance ghost rider will be in this
I’m glad they are immediately suspect of Konshu.
If the comics taught me anything, do NOT trust Konshu.
This episode was so good. This show is giving us the perspective of Steven one of Marc's multiple personalities. Marc is the real him, he is a mercenary. The deeper voice is an Egyptian god that chose Marc to be his Avatar
Finally I was waiting for u guys to react to this masterpiece
Show is straight heat so far, Oscar Isaac killing it too🔥🔥🔥
By far my favorite episodes of all the Disney + series.
I love theses completely blind reactions
Loves getting new eyes on it.First Avatar then Young Justice & Dororo…So dope 👍
"Pick up those roses, you need them for crafting." I am crying lol
I've read the comics of moon knight, and seeing the show blows my mind on how accurate it is.
As i recall steven grant ain't british and he is rich as fuck not a gift shop employee so maybe not that accurate but it's a really great show so far
@@jeyaceare9833 Yeah I can tell there gonna change up a lot of stuff but it’s executed pretty good so far
@@jeyaceare9833 it’s probably cause he resembles Batman too much
Fun fact Moon Knight wears all white so his enemies see him coming at them
Steven: I gotta stay awake and make sure I don’t fall asleep…
*blinks and suddenly cuts to him in some wack ass field being hunted by a cult*
Also I'm not going to lie, I'm super happy to subscribe to you guys. You have great chemistry with each other, your reactions are always genuine and in this case being you don't know much of the character at all, it's cool to watch you guys try to piece together who this character is.
Been waiting for this whole week for your reaction, keep it up bro
I am so excited for people to learn about Moon Knight! I never thought we'd get anything live with him! ENJOY!
5:52
"I am Optimus Prime."
No you did not lmao
I'm so happy Moon Knight is getting this exposure. Been reading this character for at least a decade and this first episode was 🔥
I'm really happy y'all are reacting to this!
I can't wait for you guys to meet Mr. Knight! In my opinion, he is the best of the personalities.
The first episode was so damn good. The second one is held back by that ridiculous MCU humor at times
Honestly been watching you guys for hella long now lol at this point I feel like I’m sitting there with y’all. thanks for making great content
There ere 3 Personnalities in the show, Steven grant, Marc Spector(the real ego) and another one. The voice in his head was the Moon god *Koshun*
Lupa you should Totally read Moon Knight volume 1- Lunatic by Jeff Lemire
I'm really excited to know what they are going to do with Harrow (Ethan Hawke, the villain). In the comics, this guy was a one-off villain who was literally only in one issue and immediately got bodied by Moon Knight. But in this show, it looks like they're building him up to be a main antagonist for the first season, maybe even the whole show. They've already added a shit ton of interesting background to what was initially a very one-dimensional character with just one episode, so I can't wait to see what happens from here.
To the editor(s) adding the Optimus prime line, you are appreciated😆
Moonknight the goat fr. His 2016 run is amazing
A bit surprised Lupa didn’t pick up on all the camera shots that foreshadowed there was 3 personas.
Near the end of the ep I realized this wasn't a movie, but the first episode lol. That's how good it was.
I want more this comedy, it's simple but refreshing.
Definitely took a tone I wasn’t expecting. Was expecting it to be a fair bit darker
I loved this episode I'm so hyped for the next one so happy you guys are watching this
Looking forward to episode 2 man.
It's gonna get even more wild and I'm all for it!
“Pick up those roses bro! You’re going to need them for crafting” I’m fcking dead ☠️ 😂
Loving Sheera new hair!
"I'm watching the same show, I have no clue" SAME !
So basically the scale is part of Egyptian lore of what they believe what happens when you die. The heart on one side and a feather on the other. If your heart outweighed the feather you were an evil person and your soul would be devoured by Ammit. There’s also a scale theme villain called Libra. Maybe it’s the cult leader or maybe next season.
my favorite reaction channel frfr. bless up for appreciating my favorite comic character😩
The ending was fire asf 🔥
Damn that jackal out here like professor lupin
watched episode 2 yesterday, didn't even know you all were gonna react to it. hyped
I loved the part where Steven literally throws a loaded gun at a car.
Y’all said optimus prime I’m dead
This show had an awesome first episode and I couldn't wait for more.
Also the Moon Knight suit is freaking awesome
Ive been waiting for your Reaction my whole intire Lifeee!
Roshi if you ever get to reading Moon Knight I recommend Lemire's run called All New All Different Moon Knight. That thing is pretty close to how the show portrays Moon Knight
Lupa's a whole mood in this reaction 🤣
This show is literally so amazing!!!
I’ve been waiting for weeks, foaming at the mouth and shit and finally I’m cured
Yes, I've been waiting for this!
I had to watch this episode twice cause when he started tweaking out switching back and forth with Marc I was confused "what happened?" "Am I tweaking or is the video tweaking?" For a first episode it was a lot to take in.
fuck yeah, Lupasan knows the brilliance of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 🤘🏻🔥🍻
