The workers are so tidy and you can see how much they care about the job they are doing. It's so nice to see.
they are amazing!!!! such a level of respect for our home that doesn't go unnoticed for sure!
Better work ethic down there? I keep seeing people from the SW states with such great contractors, very present, a beehive of activity....here we have a problem with over-booking and collecting multiple deposits...and don't get me started
Your contractor is wonderful😊Loving your blogs Xx
My partner was a builder. Every job he did had the right tool, he prepped carefully beforehand and he tidied up after himself. I am more the creative type, making make-do with what I have, crossing my fingers and creating mess I’m too tired to clear away. But we were quite proud that when working together we did well. I would give the incentive to try things we hadn’t tackled before and he would keep us on track.
What it seems too, she communicates well, especially since she knows exactly what she wants. Also, it’s the way you communicate with kindness and consideration of their work. Job well done so far. Looking forward to see the finished job.
You have to wonder what the heck other builders are doing when you see the efficiency, professionalism and quality of work of this crew. So excited to see the pretty stuff go in now.
I’m sure they’re phenomenal at their trade, but also can’t help but wonder if she wasn’t documenting and sharing with the world the job they are doing if they would still be just as efficient. They are receiving great advertising after all, of course they’d only put out their best
@@anestassia6346 I'm personally guessing it has more to do with how organized Jenna is, and especially the fact that she plans everything out beforehand and has incredibly clear communication. This is immensely helpful to any contractor.
@@anestassia6346 these are high-end contractors in LA 😂 this project is 200 to 250k…. They don’t need McKenna’s for advertisement. They have referrals from Lone Fox blowing up their phone.
Your contractor deserves a medal. I have NEVER experienced a reno that went so quickly or smoothly… I’m shook!
When people are being watched lol... McKenna has quite the following.. don't want to mess this one up right? Im sure they are like this on every hob site as well..
@@Trishisadish Nah, the ones in Texas were watched and it didn't went as smoothly.
@@LylyHec the ones in Texas, were being used by her for content and called out for things that were not their fault or even going wrong. McKenna is a mastermind of a gaslighting content creator- her ridiculous lies that the Texas contractors screwed up her roof that she claimed she designed- that is a complete lie. She had an architectural team, draw and design that cottage for her. That roof was built with loadbearing pitch and insulation considerations… McKenna showed up with her little cameras for clicks and views and pretended they screwed up and ruined her design- of course she didn’t design in the first place.
@@jcash3535youre clearly envious and misinformed. Pls spread that vitriol elsewhere
@@jcash3535 Says someone who doesn't even know how to spell MaCenna's name properly! LOL
Nesting for me: let’s paint the nursery
Nesting for Macenna: let’s build an entire kitchen lol
lol!
Lol
@@mischelemiller5020😂
"On a tight budget" Haha.
Just a thought, Have you considered creating some small sample candles to allow buyers a chance to smell the scents before investing in the larger candle with the specialized vessel? $60.00 is a big chunk of money to invest in a candle you may not enjoy.
60 dollars for a candle I like is too much. I won't even pay full price at Bath and Body. I wait until they are on sale.
If you can't afford it then buy something else, like do you tell clothing designers of luxury brands that same nonsense.....
@@missamberkaya bit rude, are we
I would like a tea light sample set. I am sensitive to scents so won't buy unless I can smell first.
There are candle melts, which are sort of like sample candles and are alternatives to candles when there are rules around burning candles.
I’ve never seen a reno project go so smoothly and quickly. McCenna you’re amazing and so are the contractors. I can’t wait to see finished kitchen!!
honestly me either! its been unreal!! we are so happy with the progress
@@XOMaCenna
A suggestion for future content, how does one find a contractor? Interview them?
So many questions to ask potential contractors, many of which average homeowners wouldn't know to ask about.
I have a couple projects coming up (new furnace/AC to replace original 79+ yo one AND remodel main bathroom) and shudder at the prospect of selecting who to hire for the jobs.
Please don't get the triangular doors cabinet on top@@XOMaCenna
Because is MaCenna!!! 😊
She has nothing to do with how smooth this is going she hired high-end contractors that lone fox referred to her. She outsourced all of her drawings to be submitted to the city for permitting…. Including the electrical plan that she is completely lying about in this video, saying she drew. This is a 200k to 250k renovation.. that is why it’s going smoothly. Not because McKenna’s efforts- because of money.
Please, do not use directional lighting towards glass! All you will end up with is a LOT of glare. Instead, add lighting inside of your cabinets. If you are using woid shelving inside the glass cabinets, add a small, recessed light in the upper most shelf space. Use linear, lensed lighting on the underside of each shelf. There are amazing very small linear lighting options available that can be recessed in your shelves!
I would also recommend that you use dimming capability on all lighting features in your kitchen, each type independently controlled (cabinet interior, undercabinet lighting that illuminates your counter, recessed can lighting, pendant lighting, etc.).
I am a professional registered lighting designer with 30 years experience - please believe me, you will not like directional lighting that is aimed at glass.
Totally agree with your comments regarding the directional lights causing glare and reflection off the glass. Interior lighting underneath the shelves would look so much nicer.
My first thought, too. Light pointed at glass is not a great idea. And yes to lighting on the undersides of shelves with one at the top. I also second dimmers. They can be added later, but it's such a savings to just install them at the start.
Interesting
I was thinking the same as you. Though of course I am no lighting professional just ultra observant. I am also glad those two black chandeliers are not being used. They were never going to work aesthetically in the new space.
Dimmers for all lighting is the only way to go.
WOW!! Amazing! Lightning fast reno!! When homeowners know exactly what they want and have such detailed info, it makes it SO much easier for the contractors. Great job!
10000000% they were able to hit the ground running because i had done the leg work of design before hand and am super attentive to them when they have questions! Can't recommend spending time with the planing process before hand to really understand and know what you want
I dont know what contractors yall are using where you think 1 month to get to drywall stage is "lightening fast!" I'm an Interior Designer/gc doing projects of this caliber and I'm appalled. Sorry.
@@andrealagow1715 exactly. The gaslighting that McKenna does to her followers on this channel is mind blowing. And those of us who are professionals in this industry, can see it a mile away. The fact that she’s lying about doing her lighting, plan herself.. and just tackling it now is laughable. McKenna had how much help she received and how much build contractors were doing on that cottage in Texas. She spent most of the time complaining and making up storylines for her viewers that the contractors in Texas were inept and that is why everyone is so impressed with this kitchen, Reno.
@jcash3535 omg! Based on her comments, I thought I was the only one who saw this!! She admits she had NOTHING selected, so the only "leg work" she's actually done is the layout. And that she doesn't know what size table to put in there. Mind blowing! If she had a good contractor, he would've checked to see if he could get the brick flooring BEFORE the project started so she could proceed w her selections if that was what was really holding her up. This should be a 6-8 week project MAX. Curious to see how long it's drawn out.
@@jcash3535 Yet you keep watching. BOOM! She wins.
THE TAPE ROLL ON THAT GENTLEMAN'S BELT IS GENIUS.
I was thinking that too!
Yeah, I think the same when I saw it
Tool belts often come with the clip to hold tape
I cannot wait to see your baby boy running through your kitchen 🥹🩵
awwwww omg me tooo!
Macenna do you remember your podcast episode with Mom about horror stories of contractors. This team is amazing. You’re going to have to a whole episode on the positives of this team! Kudos to them
Drywall always makes it feel like the pretty stuff is close!🥰🥰🥰
YESSS uggh so exciting!
@@XOMaCenna 🥰🥰🥰
The editing for these series videos are what keeps me coming back! Great work always
aww thank you! im so glad the hours and hours of editing are worth it hahah
@@XOMaCenna
Oh, that work definitely shows! And is appreciated.
These men REALLY know their trades! How nice to find competent workers! great job!
She was lucky in that she was able to get a referral and recommendation from her friend Drew at Lone Fox Home who has been using them.
I love how all the men doing work on your kitchen listen to you and treat you and your ideas with respect. I remember years ago when we were doing some construction on our property, almost every guy would call me “Honey” and treat me like I didn’t have 2 brain cells rubbing together.
This kitchen is going to be beautiful! As a kitchen and bath designer, I would suggest you have the cabinet maker go ahead and make a panel for a future panel ready dishwasher and one replacement panel for the trash drawer, while he’s making the rest of your cabinets. It’s very difficult to replace things after the fact and them still match the exact wood and stain. I know this is your forever home and you are the perfect type of perfectionist, so I wanted to suggest my recommendation!! 🖤
Great tip.
Let’s get my girl at the 1mill she deserves🎉🎉
Liking the video before watching is a must! You never disappoint!
Me too! lol. You already before you watched it that it’ll be great
aww your so sweet! thank you!
Your ability to visualize spaces and plan so thoroughly is incredible! I'm always amazed watching the process
Just a thought , but because I'm designing kitchens for a living, I think that if you had your dishwasher also built in and hidden like your refrigerator the final result would be 10 times better. ❤
Agree. Surely they can fit a panel over the dishwasher door.
I know she said she had some sort of idea in mind to create a "fix" to make it blend in. We'll have to stayed tuned to see what she does!
Yes I agree, was also going to say why not panel the dishwasher too.
Macaena already said they are making the dishwasher have a new cabinetry cover so that it blends in.
@@Lucinda_Jacksonprobably the same thing that Lone Fox did. He added a sheet of copper to his dishwasher
It's always so cute when Kinsley comes into the video. She is too adorable!❤
shes the cutest and loves to play with the painters tape hahah
I cannot believe how fast this crew is!! They're doing an incredible job, what a blessed find. 🥰🥰
Sometimes when I'm watching your videos I forget how different our budgets are, then something like the $10,000 fridge and $5,000 oven will remind me lol. They're both beautiful! And I'm glad the reno is going so smoothly for y'all💜
Same, I’m saving up for a small kitchen update/reno and I’m just trying to save the cost of those 2 appliances for the entirety of the reno 😂
Seeing your contractors do all the things and think about how you alone did all the things at the cottage with no previous experience while learning as you went... just makes me appreciate you even more. Even though you're not doing the heavy labor this time you are still hands on and clearly the woman in charge, all while growing another human 🙌💪
Macenna is a master at manipulation and gaslighting her viewers- she did not do everything herself in the Texas house. She hired drafts people to draft up all her documents that she lied and said she did herself for the permit.- the floor plan, the elevations the isometric drawings. The roof plans were all drafted by somebody else and McKenna took credit for that. She also continuously lied, pretending that the contractors were screwing up. She never filmed the amount of work that they did, including all of the finished woodwork, etc.. And she’s continuing to lie about what she is doing with this project. That lighting plan in her hand that she is pretending, she’s working on it all by herself was submitted to the city over two months ago. In order to get a permit. And she didn’t even draw her draftsperson did who she hired.
Not sure if you will see this, but I think it would be really cool if you had a program where people could send their used candle vessels back to you and they can get a discount on a new candle and you can reuse vessels. Kinda like a “candle refill” program. I know all the cables are different colors and I have no idea what the logistics would be lol but that could be a cool incentive if people don’t have the space to keep every glass. They can use what they want and turn in used ones for more candles.
These contractors are great. Their detailed and get things done. Your page is like an online electronic scrap book that you share with us. Everything's moving along really fast. Not long now.
I can’t believe you’re gonna get to live with this kitchen 😩 the mock-up is so gorgeous and the contractor’s team is doing an INCREDIBLE job. i am so envious!!!
The drywall guys are super and I like how clean they leave the work space.
The ceiling in my garage fell. Had to have drywall replaced. What a mess.
Love that change to the glass cabinet area. The corner cupboards will match itself now in regards to height. That looks so much better, and you gain counter space. Awesome.
Would love a wax melt in the scents for those that want a more budget friendly way to smell this and support Macenna. Love the updates. Enjoy the day.
I think part of the reason that your reno is going so quickly is those plans are soooooo detailed, literally everything the team could ever need to know is right there for them. You and Belin make a great team, he might try to poach you to design his other clients spaces😂
The kitchen remodel is happening so quickly. The power of hiring help.😊
Adding drywall makes the room so much brighter
Ladies, we all need to be kinder to each other. Everyone is different. Embrace that. Different in money, taste, options. We are all here for one reason & that reason is Macenna. We can all agree to disagree. This channel is about love , support, and kindness. We r all here for Macenna & her adventures & her little growing family.
Please let the love & respect continue. Love all u beautiful ladies ❤
This is the internet. Some people are going to have different opinions whether kind or rude. It’s just the way it is 🤷🏻♀️I commented on another vlog asking her why was she saying something negative about the birth of her baby, “was there something going on” (if the baby comes too early) to be exact as to what she said. She “actually” responded and said, “let’s take this down from this platform”, so I did. But I thought that was so rude. She could have answered in a more caring way. The question was a caring question. Just saying 🤷🏻♀️
I miss your mom so much!!! Cant wait to see her more in future vlogs!
I’m so locked in to this content! Thank you for sharing the process in such detail, I’m planning a small house reno now and it’s so inspiring to see how you do it!
thats so exciting!!! So glad the videos are helpful
It is unheard of in construction to be where you are in a month! I know because my husband and I own a speciality contractor business. Watching this has been an inspiration to me. I’ve written here before, when you had the flooding in So Cal, we had a massive rain and wind storm up here in Nor Cal and had a tree. Come down through our roof and ceiling. We have a similar 1049 home with 8 foot ceilings. We’ve had to strip down to the beams in our entire ceiling where we can see everything up through the roof. You inspired us to raise our ceiling too! I can’t wait to see what you select for. Paint, counter tops and tile. God bless you all as you count down to that precious little boy joining your family!
I'm glad to hear that you're adding more counter space to the design! More is more when it comes to counters, especially when there are appliances that stay out all the time ❤
As someone who has 1 sq foot of counter space I would do unspeakable things to get 6 WHOLE FEET
You really lucked out in finding an incredible Contractor and workmen to get this job done efficiently and rapidly. They seem to be taking the fact that you're so pregnant very seriously and it's great to see! Cant wait for ep. 4!
I miss the old videos where they were more relatable “do it yourself” style. Now it is a candle that is out of my price point and watching contractors where 10’s of thousands are spent . Money is tight with the economy right now so the videos you had before really gave me something that I feel I could do in my own home . Best to you and your family
Life changes for everyone.
The “ do it yourself” videos are still available for you to go back and watch for inspiration. She obviously is not currently able to do the renovations herself this time with the baby coming soon. Also she explained she did become somewhat burned out doing all that work on the cottage herself. That was not that long ago so I can’t imagine tackling that again so soon even if she were not pregnant. Good for her to be able to hire a contractor. She’s worked hard to now be able to do that.
Not that I ever doubted how gorgeous it was going to be but you can really just start to see your vision coming to life and how magnificent it’s going to be. I absolutely love the cottage kitchen but this one might take the cake!
Totally agree with a previous comment. When the owner has a clear well communicated plan the build goes far faster and you save both time & money. But your contractors do also seem very good.
OMG MaCenna I am ridiculously invested in this kitchen reno! 😂 It is so exciting to see your vision come to life, step by step, and to see what truly goes into making this happen. I bet the contractor, engineer, and rest of the team are loving how clear your vision and plans are because it must be so helpful to see exact illustrations of what you want instead of having to imagine it from a verbal description. Thanks for sharing the journey with us! 💜
So fortunate to have such a great team working with you on this project... they work so well together and communication is everything!!! This is so exciting....cant wait for more !
What a great partner you have in your contractor and his employees! They are doing a wonderful job. I am sure it helps that the designer is so organized. 🥰 I am glad you are on track to have it done before baby boy.
So happy you added the extra counter space! I was worried about the height of the doors. It's a great change to the original design I think. Since you don't have the island, I think it will come in handy
Your candles and packaging are breathtaking! I would love these candles as room sprays or even perfumes too!
Or Wax Melts!
thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
But make them cheaper! It cost to much money!😢😮
comments like that about making them cheaper is so rude. She puts so much into the process for high quality. If you want a cheaper candle they’re available at a lower quality somewhere else
@@brit331 It's so expensive a candle for 52 $... only for rich people.
I was so happy to see that you had footage of the craftsmen that are building your dream kitchen, it was my favorite part. Congratulations on your new scent, it sounds lovely.
I know y’all are really getting excited with the baby coming and completing your gorgeous kitchen! I know I can’t wait until your sweet baby boy is here and also seeing your beautiful kitchen and dining area!
I am beyond excited for you. I love the power that you bring telling them what you want and how you want it! Nothing like getting your kitchen exactly how you want it!
Are you being serious? That’s not power that’s money this is a 200 to 250K reno… and those tradesmen are allowing her to look like she knows what she’s talking about, but people in the industry, watching this can clearly see what a fraud she is.
My best part of course is the making of the kitcken on colors for your counter tops and cabinets. So sad the light fixtures are small and now another great shopping spree for lighting. I can't wait for the next content.
Would you consider doing a video addressing the Texas cottage? I feel like the channel was heavily focused on that and when you bought the LA house we never saw it again lol. Would love an update!
I love how organized you are. I thrive when organized. Can't wait to see the final reveal.
Your contractors are fantastic, I know you made it as easy as possible but the understanding of what you want and the listening to you is so refreshing xx
That drywall just lit the space right up!
Wow! You’re the luckiest person for finding this contractor.
Unlike a bedroom or a living room, a kitchen is where every aspect of building is involved down to the smallest detail.
Wow! I always thought that kitchen was crying out to be knocked through into the dining area but you have really gone the extra mile! Your design is beautiful! I love the new beams and the table in the middle! It’s going to be such a lovely family space. I can see baby boy sitting with you guys in a high chair at the table in a couple of years!❤
So excited to see the work accomplished. The natural light bouncing off the sheetrock really brightens the room too.
Goodness your level of planning and foresight is out of this world. I enjoy seeing the guys interact with you.
It’s so beautiful. I see your vision. It will be great to haven’t ready before baby. My daughter delivered her baby boy last Wednesday, 8 days early. He surprised us all and we are loving him ❤. I can’t wait for you to hold your own baby!
It looks, AMAZING!! You hit the jackpot with that contractor and his team. I know it’s going to be stunning when you put the finishing touches on everything. Happy for you. 😊
If it's not too late, put lighting INSIDE your pantry
Yes. Somehow pantry just seem really dark. Mine is very large but deep and really needed lighting. It would have been so much easier to have put it in during the build. It makes a huge differece.
I put automatic led strips vertically down each side by the door hinge. NOTHING gets lost in mine.
@@judyshallstrom415 you can retrofit strip lighting that has a battery power pack that you remove and recharge using USB
It makes my heart happy to see you happy Macenna.. yall truly deserve it . Hope y’all are having a blessed weekend my darlings. So glad you’re almost there

McCenna, Iam sooo happy for u and Romeo that everything is moving alone so smoothly, that's because of ur knowledge of construction . Can't wait to see ur beautiful space.
You have to remember that the structural goes faster than the finish work. Always buy appliances and faucets etc in stock. Delayed shipping can cost a remodel many delays.
Good thing it’s not her first remodel.
I've never been more invested in someone else's home than yours. I love following your journey. I'm excited for you and Romeo, as you both navigate your way into parenthood. Not long to go. Love your white dress and cute shoes. You are definitely glowing and looking very well. I can't wait for the pretty stages to begin. I'm always inspired and have been refreshing my space as a result.
