I think you are under the impression that I feel any kind of shame on behalf of how other people choose to think and speak about me, but I don’t. I’m truly grateful to tattle life, I’m a stronger, more resilient person, I have better people around me and life is exponentially happier because of it. So please do feel free to google and read because that place helped me build myself into a formidable human from what they thought would destroy me! 🤍

I think it's incredibly sad that sites like tattle life exist - that people would actually take the time to write things about someone they've never met based on *glimpses* into someone else's life in a desperate attempt to make themselves feel better about their own shortcomings. SO many of us are on a journey of self-discovery, self-improvement, self-understanding and self-love. Lydia has never claimed to be perfect - she's been vulnerable, open, and honest with her audience and it's been wonderful to watch her evolve every aspect of her life. There are certainly pictures of me partying all over the world in my 20s in VERY questionable outfits (ha!) with questionable people and if someone thought I would stay that person well into my 40s... well, it's absolutely laughable. It's a joy to grow, to learn more about ourselves, to evolve our style and our priorities, and it's been a joy to watch Lydia on her journey. I can only commend her for sharing it with us!

What I want to say about the book is that reading it is time spent with you, very genuine, wise, pleasant woman. Some books are written to stay in history and be a light for generations.

46:09 I love this scene with you and Ali, hanging out with the chickens, the dogs and Lumi, the cat. Your life is absolutely idyllic and your house is so lovely and full of love for animals. I think there’s a tendency in us to always want more, and even with all the upgrades and remodeling, we might be left feeling unsatisfied, but I think that could be because there is something missing inside of us, a void perhaps, or a feeling of ennui or not being entirely true to ourselves. We sort of lose our perspective on things and we channel that energy into wanting more. Despite that you and Ali are a lovely, wonderful couple, I can’t also help but sense that there is some martial discord between the two of you. You might be best friends but have grown apart in emotional intimacy. I think perhaps before the divide becomes wider it’s sometimes more important to take a step away from social media and rediscover the things that excited you about each other. Much love ❤

Your book changed my life. Changed me as a person. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was to not only receive it. Because it’s stunning! But to listen to it. I listened every day on a walk along through the outskirts of Vancouver island near the ocean side. And everything you spoke about was all around me. It was a profoundly wonderful experience. And I truly think it’s one of the best! Audio books out there. Because it’s so easy to listen to. I frequently pop it on for my daily walks. Like a nice glass of wine on a summers eve. It’s just delectably perfect. And raw. I’ve never had siblings but if I were to have an older sister I’d hope she would be just as wise as you. So the advice was taken to the heart, it really has implemented my life significantly.

For rooms getting non-structural elements, the best test is to get large foam blocks and paint them (perfectly or imperfectly) like wood or however you want. Put them (or just one) up for a month, and i you love it, go from there. But if you hate it, you haven't done anything permanent to the structure of your home. ❤ They are beautiful, nice choice.

Beams are very warm and inviting, especially if you leave them natural and don't paint them. I live in a Dovetail Log cabin and all of the logs and beams are rectangular and not like a regular log. However, I did solid log walls with no chinking in between the logs because it something else that you have to change out after about 15 years or just do solid log wall and not have to bother. My logs are 17 inches thick so there's no insulation, just the logs. the beams are about 12 inches thick and they really lend character! I love them. I guess that I should add that I have a tong and groove ceiling in natural wood.
For the Hydrangeas, take them out of the vase and completely submerge the blooms in water overnight. They absorb water through their petals

One of the things I have learned from decorating,(no:matter who you are) everyone has an opinion, sometimes very forceful, you MUST trust yourself first. People who are very creative often get a lot of criticism about decorating ideas. When it’s done those who disagreed, they will love it and be quietly wishing they had the confidence to be so bold. I also,believe what I consume through my ears and eyes, has a huge impact on how I see myself and the world around me. Therefore, I choose to only consume positive uplifting and confirming content,(besides my good mystery novels). It keeps my life well balanced in this crazy world that constantly throws negative words and information into our path.
