@@unclesam5230 Well the lyrics to this version were taken from verses from Sir Walter Scott's 1810 narrative poem The Lady of the Lake, including "The Boat Song" ("Hail to the Chief") with which the clan welcomes the arrival by boat of their chieftain Roderick Dhu, were set to music around 1812 by the songwriter James Sanderson. the Presidential march "Hail to the Chief" was written by Albert Gamse set to James Sanderson's music, but his lyrics are rarely sung when introing the president.
This song is in reference to Washington's banner, which depicts a tree 🌲, and states, "An Appeal to Heaven." This is much needed context, for those who have never seen his flag. It represents that people's last resort was to pray to God for justice, and that's what this flag and song were about.

This really aint gonna be popular, but something about thus song kinda gets me to understand what Upton Sinclair meant by "Fascism is capitalism plus murder." I think what got me thinking on this train is the weird messages in the song. Like, i get it was made in an early period of nationalism, but "Flourish and shelter the grace of our line." Feels vaguely fasc-y. Idk. And the general nature of the piece elevates a man (aside from the pretty bad slavery) was important to the USA's history into this strange, almost mythical entity. I mean, Washington himself was very humble, and he didnt want all that glory, but the deifying of the American canon and the importance that our culture puts on values that elsewhere are seen as either unimportant or casual is actually very unique on the world stage.. It really does highlight how America turned out, a monarchy that we elect with trinket parliament granted as an aside. I might be just being very cynical l, but the early liberal revolutions that pockmarked the late 18th and early 19th centuries while attemting universalism and absolute egalitarianism, simply floundered into oligarachic aristocracy with a ruling class now made of money, not just lineage. I guess my point is, never trust and Americanist, as empire is provably not great.
Washington has been, posthumously, considered a seven-star general.
Of course. Washington had been the GOD EMPEROR since James Monroe's presidency
