These tanks need to be restored to firing capacity. I love German tanks from the late war period, but simply driving them round in a circle is not enough.
If we could only throw shit loads of money to keep up the maintenance of the wear and tear of putting these ancient old warriors back into fighting shape, but alas,... nothing escapes the rust of time. Can you imagine sending grandpa back to bootcamp? That's what you would be doing. Would he go? Yes. Would it be smart? Fuck no.

I find it rather amusing, that back in WWII, the enemy (us the allies) in certain circumstances, would decided that somewhere else would be more preferable for a while, until they could retaliate. Now, many people of all nations flock to shows like this to see and watch them performing, and want to 'pet' the little Pz 1 on its little turret, and enjoy the putt..putt..putt sound of its engine....:) Once there were very many of these vehicles, but now just a few rare survivors that receive a lot of TLC too keep them in good shape, for us to enjoy watching.

They would not be allowed in Germany. All Nazi symbols are banned (note no swastikas, SS markings etc. on the vehicles) and wearing any sort of uniform that would suggest SS or Wermacht tank crews would be illegal. They are still very sensitive over there.

Пожалуй из самых адекватных и более - менее удачных Германских танков - это "Пантера". И то, был создан под веянием Т - 34. Минус конструкции - это расположение катков, высокий силуэт и большая масса. Ну и конечно - бензиновый двигатель. Немцы так и не смогли создать танковый дизель.

Объективности ради, Пантера со своей 76мм пушкой пробивала Т34, с расстояния 1.5 км, тогда как Т34 со своей 76мм пушкой, что бы поразить Пантеру должен был сблизиться до 600метров. Отсюда такие большие потери по танкам у нас за время войны.
